Mit 4 Schlafzimmern sowie einem zusätzlichen Schlafsaal / Familienzimmer mit angrenzendem Deck und Blick auf die Landschaft. Bequem schläft 11. Es hat drei Bäder und eine umgebaute Küche. Es hat auch ein großes Gewölbe-Esszimmer aus Stein neben der Küche. Vom ursprünglichen Wachturm aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und der einladenden Terrasse aus hat man eine spektakuläre Aussicht. Geräumig und ruhig genug für Yoga-Praktizierende, isoliert genug für ausgelassene Partys und mittelalterlich genug, dass viele unserer jungen Gäste es "Hogwarts" genannt haben.
Angrenzend befindet sich ein zusätzliches Steinhaus, in dem gegen Aufpreis Gruppen von 13 Personen untergebracht werden können.

Dieses Haus ist perfekt für preisbewusste Reisende oder Gruppen, die Authentizität und dörfliches Leben, aber die Nähe zu erstklassigen Restaurants, Stränden und kulturellen Angeboten schätzen.


Für den aktiveren Reisenden ist Girona ein Zentrum für Radfahrer, sowohl auf der Straße als auch in den Bergen. Wanderwege sind in der Umgebung gut ausgebaut. Es gibt Weltklasse-Golf in Pals. Das Haus und die Umgebung sind ideal für jede Jahreszeit, da im Haus Strahlungswärme und die ganzjährige Schönheit der Landschaft herrschen. Our family loved this home. Coming from NYC it was a refreshing break from city life-- in a beautifully maintained home in a small, friendly village. Lovely balcony with a view. Near beaches and other towns/sites of interest. The host was prompt with replies and assistance. We hope to visit again.

Beautiful views, charming neighbors, lovely villages.

We stayed with another family for Christmas. The home is very cozy with ample room for a couple of families vacationing together. Easy to get to with a larger town nearby if you should need extra provisions or shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

The area does have beautiful views and charming medieval villages,a great get-away in winter and summer. But this review underscores some of the unique qualities of the house. In winter, the house is very warm and cozy since it's made of stone, so nice for the cold months. (It stays cool in the summer because of the stone also.) There is a lot of room in the house! It easily accommodates groups and families, but fine for couples, too.

Charming Medieval Tower Home

Can Torre is a lovely remodeled medieval tower centrally located in Costa Brava. The location in Cruilles is 30 minutes from all the major sights and gorgeous beaches of the area. We had a wonderful time!

Charming home

This home was awesome for our 2 family vacation of 11 travelers. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and the home was fully equipped with all the necessities needed. Having a washing machine was helpful! There were also bikes available for our use which was splendid. We all appreciated the cleanliness and updated bathrooms as well. We highly recommend this charming home for your next stay in Cruilles!

Great Place for a Vacation

With my family (wife, son, stepfather, and mother) we spent two weeks here back in May. We loved the house and the region. The home is super comfortable, and every night we cooked and out on on the rooftop balcony with a view of a 13th-century church. Lots of bedrooms, two full baths, three floors--so it also worked great for having space within the home. Great location for seeing small, medieval towns. You do need a car, but there are a ridiculously beautiful amount of places to see nearby and surprisingly good, affordable restaurants. Recommend it super highly.

A wonderful break with all the amenities.

We stayed here for February break, 2012, with three adults, five children and a dog. Everything was better than advertised, it's just such a charming and generous space. Cruilles is a perfect blend of medieval village with modern amenities five minutes away in the local town, La Bisbal. The kids loved the house, and set up a "Kids-Club" (no grown-ups allowed) in the tower. They could run through the walled village with relative safety, explore the fields, play in the garden, visit the local monastery. The grown-ups enjoyed drinks on the terrace, big meals in the kitchen, and peaceful nights. We explored local beach towns, hiked the cliffs, visited local architectural wonders, the Dali museum, went horse-back riding and more. Next trip: we will definitely organize road-biking in advance. Couldn't quite fit it in and it is road-biking heaven -- it was hard to just sit and watch the packs of cyclists filling their canteens at the fountain out front. Thanks to our hosts for all their comprehensive information that made the trip so rich with experience.

Best rental ever!

What fun it was to stay at this rental! Walking in was like stepping back in time with the stone interior, vaulted ceilings, etc. The whole village is like that! The place was very well equipped, in the kitchen, the linens, everything. The beds were comfortable. The grandkids loved living in a stone house, especially with the tower at the top. Some of the best time was spent just walking around the village, taking in the sights and sounds. I loved hearing the old clock tower chiming out the time. The countryside was beautiful and we got to explore many other medieval villages around the area. There wasn't one place we looked that wasn't picturesque. And locals are very friendly. We were welcomed everywhere we went and had no trouble communicating with anyone. Prior to our trip the owners were incredible, filling us in on the history of the place and making suggestions on things to do and places to go. We did it all! We started out in Barcelona. Once we left there for Costa Brava we found to our delight that Spain is more than beaches, cathedrals and Salvador Dali. There are a lot of cyclists in training in the countryside and bicycles available for you to use. And the management company was awesome! They were quick to respond to all questions and requests. Very helpful, friendly and we were well supported. I just loved these guys! You can tell from all the exclamation points I'm using that I'm sincere when I say that I would return again and again to Cruilles. For a unique experience, I recommend it highly.

Charming historic house in the county, more rustic than expected.

We are a family of five (three kids). It’s a charming historic house, however more “rustic” than we expected. The cons: within an hour of arriving, we found a dead bat on the kitchen floor, and my son found several very alive cockroaches in the bathroom. The rental agency handled both issues, unfortunately this make us question the overall cleanliness of the house. Less than ideal start to the week. The hot water heater stopped working twice during our stay. Also be aware that the ceiling in the dining area leaves a layer of dust on part of the dining room table; this may be an issue if trying to seat more than five people. We had a hard time keeping the house cool with only fans. Opening the windows let in a wonderful breeze, but the windows don’t have screens, therefore it also let in bugs. The pros: the location is in a small, charming Medieval town only a few minutes’ drive from La Bisbal, 25 mins from the closest beaches, good location for exploring the area. (We did a daytrip to France to explore the Cathar castles.) The terrace was my favorite spot. The kids loved the tower. Kitchen had modern appliances, which all worked well (except for hot water heater). We tried to have a sense of humor about all the small issues (several others I didn’t list) calling it part of the “Medieval experience.” The other reviews are overwhelming positive, I’m not sure why our experience was so different.

Incredible location, exceptional value

My wife and I stayed at the Castle for two weeks during the fall, 2010. The location is absolutely wonderful with plenty of activities close by. Walking or biking through the Spanish countryside exploring small towns, a large outdoor market in La Bizbal every Friday, and the beaches a short drive away. Many ruins from Iberians and Romans are easily accessed from this location. With the wifi we were able to research places to go on our laptop and within an easy morning drive explored mountains, beaches, museums and small towns. La Bizbal is the larger town nearby for shopping. La Biz, as it is called by people in the know, has a super market (the Orangutan) that has excellent selection and good wine and great seafood market. Within the town there are also several good restaurants and small shops and bakeries. The local dirt road makes it fun with no traffic to either walk or bike with a little daypack for shopping. Follow the well marked trails, market with either signs or the = trail marker to La biz or to an early Roman church less than a mile from the castle. Girona is moderate drive (35 Minutes) and is a wonderful city to explore, be sure to go to the Archeology museum and see the sarcophagus of the Count de Cruilles and other items from what could possibly be this very castle. Our favorite nearby small town was Torroelle de Mont Gris, a 15 minute drive, and the starting point to hike up to the ruins of the castle on Mont Gris. This town has a wonderful shopping district, excellent sidewalk cafes in the Central Plaza, and very friendly people. Although we didn’t travel with children, the area is super kid friendly. The accommodations date to the 13th century, and as such are a bit rustic when compared to those in a modern American home, however, they are functional, and add to the charm of staying in a medieval village. We shopped and cooked in many nights and enjoyed happy hour on the terrace overlooking the panoramic country. Climb the watch tower and imagine using the archer’s windows to defend the village. I would highly recommend this rental to the adventurer who is seeking an authentic experience in the beautiful Spanish countryside. I can’t wait to return.

Tolles Haus mit viel Platz

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im "Turm" sehr genossen. Alles ist exakt wie auf den Bildern! Es gibt eine neue, sehr gut ausgestattete Küche. Die Lage ist optimal, man ist schnell in La Bisbal zum Einkaufen und auch Girona oder die Strände der Costa Brava erreicht man schnell. Der Kontakt zur Besitzerin und zur Verwalterin war nett und alles hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Vielen Dank!

Globalement déçu malgré tout.

Une semaine en famille. Concernant le gîte, nous avons été satisfaits par les équipements disponibles (il est très bien équipé avec même un grand nombre de vélos) par contre la propreté était clairement à revoir (des restes de nourriture dans les assiettes, etc...), Les photos de l'annonce survendent le produit ! C'est très sombre et mal insonorisé (simple vitrage préjudiciable puisque toutes chambres donnent sur la rue), un trou dans le plafond d'une des chambres, la documentation disponible n'est plus du tout à jour ni entretenue, aucun accueil tout se passe par WhatsApp... et je passe les détails comme l'invasion de fourmis dans la cuisine, les odeurs d'égouts, le moisi dans la machine à laver, la déco vieillotte, etc... En clair, pour ce prix nous ne recommanderons pas ce gîte...

C'est dans une partie non touristique , mais à 30 minutes de voitures de la plupart des stations balnéaires ." Our home is a medieval, stone house with a tower from the 13th century. It is in the heart of a medieval village in the Baix Empordan. I think Frederic would have been much happier with more conventional lodgings, though I regret that the cleanliness was not up to par!! Obviously, we can always do better. He had access to our website that has all the up-to-date information. Too bad he didn't reach out to me. I've rented out the house for over 20 years and was quite surprised at his review.

Needs a nicer area to sit outside. Needs to be updated. No coffee maker. Lots of room. Kitchen really nice. Needs a bathroom on third level

I encourage prospective guests to look at the photos of our house and the descriptions carefully! The photos are absolutely accurate and the description of the layout of the house also. The house's big appeal, which most guests love, is its size and location. The house is very spacious with many areas for gathering, so it's great for family, friends and fun. This is our vacation home, so we like it no fuss so we don't have to worry about it. There are a few types of coffee makers at the house. Perhaps she wasn't familiar with them.

Authentic Spanish Experience

Great home base for an authentic old Spanish experience. Rustic charm, yet fully updated, clean and comfortable. Well situated for road cycling with reasonable proximity to Girona, the beaches of the Costa Brava and other other small, picturesque villages.

Nice quiet community, unique accommodation, lots of space

Kristen was quick to reply to any questions before our stay, and Renate at the management team was great. We had 4 couples and there was lots of space for all of us. Located in a quiet community. Problem with the front door was fixed while we were there. We made use of the bikes and washing machine, as well as the dishwasher and oven. There was lots of hot water for showers and baths. Clean bedding and well equipped kitchen. We did not use the garden as it was cooler while we were there. We found parking on the street for our rentals. We traveled to both the beaches and the mountains from this location, as well as the cities of Barcelona and Girona. It was a great location to be away from the city.

plenty of room, great location

We stayed for 12 days, inviting our two sons and their families, plus one set of inlays, the two groups overlapping one day. There was plenty of room for all (10) and a great layout for our particular needs. We loved being in a very small, and very old, village. And we were very close to a large town (Bisbal) with all of the facilities that you would expect in a city. Even made ample use of the bicycles that were available. It's an excellent location for seeing that part of Spain, and even France if you are willing to drive a bit. Would recommend it highly.

Charming historic house in Cruilles, Spain.

We had an amazing time. There were four of us and we loved the rustic, historical Can Torre. The town is close to many attractions so we used it as our base and traveled to towns and villages close by. We had dinner at Jordi's in La Bispal the night we arrived and had amazing food and service that we returned for dinner on the last night of our stay.

Lovely house and village, again !!

Geweldig huis, ruim plek voor 10-12 personen. Meerdere badkamers, compleet uitgeruste keuken met vaatwasser, oven en nespresso machine. Op rij afstand van grote supermarkt, kleine boodschappen bij Bar Ester in Cruilles. Prachtige strandjes en stadjes in nabije omgeving. Kan aanbevelen!

Awesome stay in Can Torre, Cruilles, Spain

My husband and I were delighted with our recent stay in Cruilles, Spain, at Can Torre. It was exactly like the pictures, and it was a wonderful experience over all. There were four adults in our group, and we had plenty of space to relax, and do our own thing, and then get together at day's end. We especially loved the roof top terrace, where we had wine every evening, and coffee in the mornings. The views were gorgeous! We loved the fact that it was a good home base to go out on day trips to the beach towns, and even to France one day. Close to grocery stores and markets to lay in supplies, and explore other near by medieval towns. We would highly recommend staying here, and hope to some day return.

We're a San Francisco family. Two of our (grown) children live in town and are making a go of it, while one is in Los Angeles on the road to stardom. Kevin is from DC, Kristen from Berkeley. We lived in Spain during a boom time in Spain from 1995 to1998. We were so lucky to have lived in Barcelona. It is the best of the best, though, or course that might hurt San Francisco's feelings. But Barcelona has the size, history, and depth that warrants the accolades.

We bought this house at the tail end of a 3 year stay in Barcelona in 1998. Against all the naysayers in Spain , we managed to refurbish and renovate the house and have used it ever since. The old stone houses never lose their charm and resilience. We've had family to the tune of 17 strong in the house, and it didn't even wince, nor did the town. And the beaches, the countryside and the medieval towns are what bring us back. We never get tired of it.
