Villa Hermosa is an imposing three story villa with commanding views of the Catalan countryside and the sea. Located in a quiet wooded area on the edge of the historic village of Begur and 5 min drive from the wonderful beach at Aiguablava. The villa is fully air-conditioned. Private 6x4 m swimming pool, private gardens with breathtaking views
The villa comprises five good sized bedrooms with built in wardrobes and three bathrooms. Sea views from several rooms. Excellent dining terraces with sea views.
The half open kitchen is well stocked and overlooks the dinning area, the living room and the terrace.
On the main floor we have the livingroom and kitchen and 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Two of the bedrooms have their own private entrance or terrace. The third bedroom has its own private bathroom.
on the lower level we have the pool area with an outside bar with small fridge for the drinks and the bbq stuff.
The are two bedrooms at pool level one with a queen bed of 150 by 190 and the other with a bunkbed. There is a shared bathroom with shower and toilet.
There is a nice covered chill out area overlooking the pool perfect for relaxing while escaping the hot sun.
If you want to have some privacy the garden goes all the way up to a shaded area with spectaculair views. Perfect for some quiet reading or an afternoon wine.
This house is perfectly suited for a large family or two families sharing their vacation.
We offer free use of bicycles
Begur is a charming village full of restaurants and boutiques and an excellent base from which to explore the Costa Brava. In summer there are numerous festivals and outdoor markets held around the medieval church square. The nearest beach at Aiguablava is deservedly popular with families with soft sand and crystal clear waters. Three beachside restaurants offer excellent opportunities for leisurely lunches.

Golf Courses: There are many excellent golf courses nearby including the Catalunya PGA. Green fees are very reasonable and the standards of the courses compare favourably with anything else in Europe. Ask for a brochure on Golf in the Costa Brava.

Fine Dining: Three of the world's best 50 restaurants are Catalan and within a 35 min drive. Some of the most exiting wines being produced in Europe come from this region. Why not ask us to arrange a visit to a winery or to a world class restaurant.HUTG-022038

A great relaxing stay

We had a great stay at Villa Hermosa, its in a lovely location, spacious and well equipped. The owner was very helpful and provided advice on the best places to visit and eat out. The area beautiful great beaches, walks and lovely old city of Gerona to visit near by. Loved our stay here.

Lovely house to explore local area

Vila Hermosa is a delightful residence near to the town of Begur but ideal for exploring the region's beaches of Aiguablava, Pals, Sa Riera and Sa Tuna. We were a family of 10 people of all ages staying for a week and the house was very comfortable and accommodating for all. The swimming pool area and large balcony were particularly enjoyable. Highly recommended!

A great time at Hermosa

We had a great time at villa Hermosa. There was enough room and privacy for all of us (6 p). Everything was clean and the pool was cleaned ones a week. There is an elevator in the house, what makes it very comfortable. I would really recommend it to a group of friend or to a big family.

Beautiful begur and surrounding areas. Hit by beauty round every corner. Lovely villa although rather a lot of steps. Not for the infirmed but we as a family of 10 of assorted ages had an amazing time. Thank you villa Hermosa.

Great Stay

We spent a relax week in Villa Hermosa. There is a great terrace with a beautiful view. Villa Hermosa is very good equipped and there is enough space for 5 people (2 adults and 3 teenagers!!!). The booking procedure was easy and in a professional manner. The response time was very fast. Also on the day of arrivial was all ok. The managers were very friendly and cooperative.

Perfect Getaway!

My parents, aunt,uncle and a couple of friends including my 6 year old god-daughter throughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Hermosa. The house was immaculate and furnished to a very high standard. Location was perfect set in mature woodlands but close to fantastic Begur and all its great eateries. The house has a lower section which can sleep 4 which gives extra privacy if needed when sharing the house. Pool great and upper garden with swings delightful. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here!

A bit of Costa Brava Magic

Villa Hermosa is in a great location, close to beaches, to the restaurants of Begur and to a really good supermarket. The villa is well equipped, although the outdoor furniture is a bit tired. The downside is the slog up all the steps from the road to the main floor, especially when you are lugging suitcases and shopping.

Thanks for your review. We think the villa is in a great location for family holidays. Glad you agree. Surprised at the comment about the outdoor furniture as we had just spent €1,000 this year on outdoor furniture. It is true that the villa is on an elevated site and so there are steps from street level up to the main floor. On the plus side this gives great views from the living room over the countryside to the sea. There is a cargo lift in the villa running from the garage to the upper floor especially for taking luggage and shopping.

Excellent Begur villa in a great position

The property is well equipped with everything needed for a large group - we were a party of 7 with three generations - and there was plenty of space. Everything in good condition, clean and well maintained. Very close to an excellent supermarket and 10 minutes drive from the restaurants and bars in Begur. Extremely quiet location, and nice breeze on the main terrace so eating out was never too warm even thought we had mid 30's the whole stay. Catriona and Ryan were very responsive and helpful both before and after our stay - many thanks for an excellent holiday!

A charming hilltop villa in a quiet spot with beautiful views

We were 2 families of 4 and had such a wonderful stay at Villa Hermosa. The early summer weather meant we could really enjoy the suntrapped pool and the breathtaking local beaches. Begur is a charming local town and all are just a short drive away. Three great bathrooms and comfortable beds with plenty of space. Two bedrooms are downstairs via the outside staircase which worked well for the teenagers. BBQs on the balcony with wine, fish and meat from the local supermarket made for really special evenings. Thank you Derek, Catriona and Kerrie for a great stay. We hope to return some time soon.

Don't miss this one.

This is a beautiful ideally located villa. We stayed there in July 2009 with our 3 children and from the moment we entered the villa it was clear that this was a thoughfully fitted out well maintained property. The kitchen is well stocked, and the rooms, linen and towels were spotless. The children loved the pool, and in the evenings we were able to bbq on the upper balcony and sit out to enjoy the food and amazing view. The location is great as there is a supermarket 4 minutes drive away, you can be in the centre of Begur in 10 minutes or on one of the stunning beaches within minutes also. The owners were very friendly and accomodating, and their local property managers were of great assistance - they even found a baby sitter for us !

Spacious bright villa with spectacular views

Villa Hermosa was the perfect venue for a family reunion. Nine of us never felt crowded with the pool and surrounds being a perfect area for adults to chill and 4 kids ranging from 6 to 3 to play. The villa is spotless, bright and airy with spectacular views. the quiet neighbourhood (a week before UK schools broke up) much appreciated and well-stocked supermarket a few minutes walk away through a charming wooded area. Several lovely beaches to choose from with restaurants right there - just walk off the beach in your beach gear for a chilled meal - with restauranteurs and patrons very accepting of children's antics. We explored and loved Pals where we had an excellent paella at Le Pedro Restaurant. All in all, an idyllic holiday! thank you - it was so easy booking and staying but hard to leave!

Excellent Choice

Villa Hermosa turned out to be an excellent choice for our family holiday. The layout made it very suitable for a gathering of 3 families with an age range of 70 to 5, with everyone feeling they had enough personal space when needed. The very steep site means that young children need supervision when outside but this is worth it for the lovely views, position, facilities and accomodation. The villa is well situated in a quiet residential area just outside lovely Begur and not far from great beaches. The property was well presented and clean. In our view, it was more spacious and better than we expected from the description and photos. Very helpful handbook provided by the owner. We all had a great week and would recommend this property.

Hardly to imagine: it was May and we had rain in Spain. The pool was beautiful, but we have hardly got outside of the house. We had to test the house. And the house passed the test with excellent grades. The living room is a pleasant place to be, the bathrooms are good and the beds in the bedrooms provided a good sleep. We also have to mention Bob and Kerry, the caretakers of the house. They were very willing to help us in every possible way. Catriona, the owner is very nice, funny and reliable lady. Begur is very nice place.

Lovely house - amazing views

Our family of 10 including 3 children and one person with limited mobility had an excellent stay at Villa Hermosa. It had everything we needed - spacious and comfortable rooms, well stocked kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and outside space, and beautiful views. The lift was invaluable too especially with heavy bags and lots of shopping. The local manager was really helpful on arrival showing us where everything was and where we could find the supermarket (3 mins away by car and has everything you could possibly need including butcher, baker and fresh fish shop), child friendly restaurants etc. The weather wasn't great but that didn't matter as the amazing views, spacious house and good company more than made up for it. You definitely need a car but there's plenty of parking and there's loads to see in the local area like picturesque beaches and coves. We'd highly recommend this villa for a lovely holiday!

Lovely October break

Really enjoyed Begur and all the areas beeches, villages and the larger resorts and towns surrounding it, all of which are less than 20mins drive from the house. The property was lovely to return to late afternoon to relaxe by the pool , then have diner outside on the balcony, we really enjoyed our morning coffee’s on the front balcony catching those early morning rays. The property is spacious and would be great for larger groups. If I was to offer suggestions to improve the offering, I personally would install a satellite dish with a Humax receiver to obtain some UK tv Alternatively a selection of Box sets for the DVD player would be nice. To top It all a ‘footstool’would be a great addition to the lounge. These are only little add on suggestions as everything else in the property is spot on.

Colin, Thanks for your review. Really glad you liked Begur and the area. The villa is popular with larger family groups and we try to ensure they have everything they need for an enjoyable holiday. We looked at a satellite for UK tv but they have moved the Astra satellite so now we would need a dish 3 meters wide to get reception!. Nearly all the drama on the 40 channels of Spanish freeview in the villa are American or British so simply clicking the "lang" button removes the dubbing. In addition there are about 50 DVDs for guests use including lots of kids movies. Having said all that, you shouldn't be inside watchingTV, you should be at all the wonderful beaches. Wonderful Stay - Thank you

We had a wonderful stay in Villa Hermosa. We couldn’t have asked for more from the excellent and efficient communication with Derek the proprietor to Bob the property manager. The villa itself is far nicer than the images show and we were more than pleasantly surprised. We were a party of 3 adults and had two groups of friends join us during our 3 week vacation. The villa was so so spacious both inside and out. It was really well equipped and has excellent Wi-Fi which my husband used as he was working for the first 2 weeks. The location is excellent but I think you would need a car to properly enjoy the area. The nearest town Begur is on a few minutes drive but you could walk ( 30 mins approx) The villa is only a short drive to all the beautiful costal towns and is only a few minutes walk to an excellent supermarket. The pool area is also fantastic and there is even a fridge outside to store your drinks whilst lounging at the pool. The villa is in a lovely quiet neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful pine trees. Family holiday

Loved the location of the villa, being close to Begur town centre and the local beaches with an excellent supermarket nearby. A car is essential to reach the beaches and also the town centre due to the hilly nature of the area. The villa is lovely and comfortable, and the views delightful. The facilities were very good but on booking the one facility that was important to us was the lift, however, on final payment we were advised that the lift could only be used for transporting shopping etc, not for people. There is no internal staircase so those in the bedrooms on the lower floor had to use the outside staircases to reach the upper floor. On the basis that people cannot use the lift and with approximately 40 stairs to climb to reach the front door this villa may not be suitable for those with walking or breathing difficulties. One of our party did have this issue and it was a concern whether he would cope, thankfully he did, with some difficulty. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa and were well supported by the very helpful Managers.

A wonderful family holiday.

The villa is spacious with large living room and kitchen all open plan leading to a wraparound balcony with lovely views. There are a number of steps up to the main entrance but the lift from the garage that takes suitcases and heavy shopping was such a good idea. The annexe on the floor below can also be reached by a spiral staircase from the balcony so it was easy to go up from the pool to the main villa. The annexe has a double room, single bunk bed room and shower room. The pool was great with small steps on the side. Lots of loungers and plenty of room for sunbathing. The supermarket is a short walk or drive away and sold everything we needed. The only inconvenience was the rubbish disposal, but it was fine. We had to ring Kerry though to find out what to do. We were welcomed and shown around the villa but a welcome pack with information on rubbish collection and map of car parks in Begur and markets would be a good idea. I know you send lots of information but it would be nice to have something written as well. We all loved our stay in Villa Hermosa. It was perfect for our age ranges from 3 to 71.

Lovely spacious villa with fantastic views

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Villa Hermosa; it is as good as it looks in the photos. The views were outstanding (sea and rolling hills) and there is so much to do in the local area despite the changeable weather we experienced in April. Begur is a beautiful town and the coastline is marvellous. The large kitchen/dinner/living room worked well for our group of six adults and two under two’s. The lift was a godsend for arrival and departure days (lots of luggage) and after our supermarket shopping trips. The management were very helpful when we needed them and they were very friendly. It was too cold for the pool but it looked like it would be a lot of fun in the summer and the separate floors worked really well for those amongst us who wanted to get some peace from the excitement upstairs. The little girls loved the “park” at the top of the garden and the swings had a good work out. And the villa was well stocked with everything we needed for the week. Only downside is that the wireless internet was a dongle which didn’t work for our mobiles or ipad; not wireless as we understand it. We also ran out of hot water on our first day when we all took showers in the morning. However neither of these two things would stop me from recommending the villa as a holiday rental for the area; it was great.

Thanks for the review and your comments. We are truly delighted that you enjoyed your stay despite the weather. Normally April can be good but this year has been mixed. It is the one thing we can't fix! We have tried to make the villa functional for family groups and it is great to get feedback that it has all the things you would need for your holiday. The fact that those having a lie on (or siesta) downstairs can hear nothing from the upper level has been commented on a big bonus before (although we also have a baby monitor so anxious parents can listen in if they want). We love Begur and the surrounding coastline. I think as you were the first booking of the season the hot water was not switched on early enough but I will follow up with our managers. Regarding the 3G wireless dongle, you have a good point which we will resolve for future guests. Thanks again and see you soon!

Maison agréable, jolie vue, bien équipée mis a part la salle de bain du niveau piscine dans laquelle il manquerait une étagère pour poser les affaires. Supermarché à 3mn en voiture, begur centre à 5mn, mer à 10mn. Petit Bemol: beaucoup d escaliers à monter.On le savait , mais fatigant quand même. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour et c est une très jolie région.

The Costa Brava has everything for me. Nice sunny but not extremely hot summers. We have the most gorgeous beaches and clear seas of all of Spain mainland. So many quaint villages to visit but also so close to cities like Girona and of course Barcelona. And in winter the weather is still super. Always sunny but nice and cold in the evenings and of course just an hour from great ski centers.
The people are friendly and there are good restaurants everywhere

This villa has two floors with 5 bedrooms so plenty of privacy when traveling with two families or a big group. It’s within walking/ circling distance of the beach and centre and we offer free bikes to use. For the hot nights there is airconditioning in all rooms and the private pool is great to just spend the day laying around the pool
