Alle Fernseher sind Flachbildschirme. Der Aufenthaltsraum mit Kickertisch und Bartresen bietet Vergnügen für einen großartigen Familienurlaub.

Great location and nice house (that needs a bit of maintenance)

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great house, on a great property in a great spot. But management is doing the property an injustice. There are electrical sockets missing faceplates, a multitude of lightbulbs missing or blown. A few outlets do not work at all, and the downstairs carpet is constantly damp. The outdoor shower was busted when we arrived, the faucet broken- and it was fixed while we were there with tape. It will be blown again soon. Rather than fix a floor seam between the kitchen and living area, they have coated it with red tape to draw attention to it. The shower curtain liners in each shower stall are too short and will cause water damage soon. The outside pool area is a beautiful private setup but behind the broken hot tub the concrete was littered with broken glass, plastic food utensils and dead leaves. Dead leaves literally littered the back fence area. A 10 minute blow with a leaf blower would do a world of food for the rotting stinky wet leaves under tables and in corners. Thankfully the hot tub area will be cleaned out. When we arrived at check in the hot tub vendor was there to tell us the unit was broken. So it was replaced on Thursday and not filled or wired until Friday. We left on Saturday. But the maintenance people who were frequently out there were pleasant and kind and even cleaned out behind the old hot tub spot before putting in the new. And the storage pool bins need to be trashed, they are all broken, with wasps nests inside and all that is stored is refuse with busted toys and bugs. The house setup is ideal. The bones and layout and everything else is great. But the house needs a good clean, a safety inspection and going over before it is rented out again. The linens stored in the Master closet were visibly soiled.

Wifi Is Basically Not Functional

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is adequate—an older OBX residence with its own charm. However, if you plan to work remotely or even want to stream content using the provided WiFi network on any of the televisions or your own mobile devices, you will likely be disappointed. Video streams often fail to load altogether or play for a few minutes before buffering extensively, creating a frustrating experience.We reached out to the rental agency, who assured us they would investigate the issue and look into reaching out to the ISP. Unfortunately, no improvements were made, and the problem persisted. Recent reviews indicate this issue has affected other guests as well. They did tell us where the router was so we could investigate.The router is situated on the ground floor in an unfinished room on the side of the house. There are no WiFi extenders in place around the 3 story house, and even on the ground floor, the signal is weak, barely sufficient for streaming video in the kids' bedroom.

Mediocre house - satisfies basics, but internet & shade problems

Reviewer Comments: This house provides all the basics - decent location (about 1/2 mile walk to beach), pool, reasonably sized and maintained rooms, but failed on some key specific amenities. Firstly, the internet service is horrible. Do not expect to be able to stream movies, shows, etc. They really need to boost their internet speed/capacity and place routers/signal boosters in other places in house. Secondly, none of the TVs in the bedrooms seemed to work at all (main tv in common area did work fine) - they turned on but cable box didn't work. Lastly, the pool, while small, is a great space BUT there is no shade whatsoever!! The owner and realty company refused to provide even an umbrella to go with the patio table. In summer heat and sun, with no shade provided (even upon request! seems ridiculous that not even a patio table umbrella would be present), this space is hard to use for more than 15-20min. Lastly, the couches in main room and on bottom floor were unacceptably dirty with visible sand, dirt, and hair all over them. Otherwise, cleanliness level is what you would expect at beach house with high turnover.

A good location on Whalehead to Herring beach access.

The house was very clean, although only a couple rooms received their towel packs. The prior week's sheets were picked up mid-week. Until towels were delivered halfway in the week, most guests used beach towels for bathing. The washing machine did not work properly, but was fixed mid-week, as were two loose ceiling fans. Air conditioning worked very well on the top floor, but one mid-level room did not fare well. The kitchen was well stocked, but it's very small for such a large house. The refrigerator is excellent, with filtered water on the door. We vacation with relatives in another house, and both families host dinners. The seating for dining is limited inside, but the east facing top deck is in shade by evening.

Hot tub did not work all week, the wifi was not working when we arrived, the ice maker not working, and toilet in ground level would not flush most of the week. These were just the big issues. I called about these things upon arrival and no one from beach realty showed up till Tuesday. Toilet was snaked but less than 24 hours later it was doing the same thing. Someone came out for hot tub but could not get it repaired. The wifi we reset several times ourselves. Then there were many lights not working and door knobs to bedrooms and bathrooms not locking. Have stayed in many homes in the area over the years and this was by far the most disappointing. Also no inside or outside doormats so very hard to keep sand out.

Fantastic beach trip!

Not clean and not in working order

There was dust coming out of the air vents, mold in the bathroom, holes in the bedskirt, dust on lampshades, and a dirty lollipop left in the bathroom. The hot tub was not working when we arrived and wasn’t fixed until our third day. Also, we paid $200 extra to have the pool heated. That was not turned on to her third day as well. There weren’t event outlet covers on some of the electrical outlets (which must be a safety violation). Although the management answered our messages quickly, there were no accommodations offered for the state of the property.

Beautiful home and great stay besides view

Only downside was behind the home there is a building bigger than the home where the pictures show a basically empty lot and description Doesn't let you know other wise. Sadly this takes away any ocean/beach views besides a tiny almost can’t see it sliver if you stand in the corner of the top balcony. Other than not getting out views the house was amazing.

Not what was represented

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was recommended to me by the agent and represented as having a new owner and being recently renovated. The front door knob was not functioning properly, so hard to get in and out. The ground level bathroom was a disaster, as the septic backed up into the tub, toilet and sink. It took two full days to have this addressed and only once the owner got involved and we threatened to call the Department of Health. The septic tank was cleaned out, and then functioned properly and the cleaning crew was sent in to clean the bathroom. We had a disabled person staying on that level, so we had to get a 240 pound man up the stairs to the next level for appropriate facilities. Not an easy task for all of us retired types. Pool leaked, and signage requested us to fill it up each day to maintain a certain level. It was cleaned while we were there. The grill was awful, so we bought a copper grill plate before we could use it. Front door knob was replaced while we were there. As we were packing up to leave, we noticed that the kitchen sink was leaking underneath. I called the agency on our way out to report it, stating that our check out time was 10,and that we had left, but wanted to let them know so they could address it before the next renters came in. I received a voice message around noon asking to set a time for them to come by to fix it. I don't know if this was fixed, or left for the next renters. Lots of issues for a "renovated" property. Our second time in the Outer Banks, and we love it there; but having to deal with this type of stress on vacation was not what we expected. We did have a good time in spite of it all, but since I picked this place for our family reunion, and had to deal with all of this, I never fully relaxed. I don't know if the issue was the owner, or the management company. I understand with properties like these, there can be issues, but everything should have been resolved with MUCH more urgency.

Much needed family time
