A great place to stay
Haiku Gardens is the perfect property away from the hustle and bustle of the West Coast.
Thanks to the owner's accurate and timely information, we had no problem driving to the property up in the North. Tony, the caretaker, gave us a warm welcome and even had stocked the fridge with everything we needed on our first day. He picked coconuts and and vegetables for us to eat, sometimes brought some fresh fish and even cooked an excellent dinner for us one evening.
The house is spacious and has all amenities you could wish for, including very good WiFi. We especially enjoyed our evenings on the patio with the sound of the ocean and the beautiful colours of sunset.
Renting a car is a must - grocery shopping is a 20 minute drive away. All the beaches of the West Coast are within easy reach and going to the South or East Coast is no problem either.
The beach right near the house is beautiful but the sea can be quite rough and swimming or snorkelling is only recommended during calm weather.
There are lots of other things to do as well - we recommend visiting the Botanical Garden and St. Nicholas Abbey. A former plantation, it is now an ingeniously designed museum and rum distillery that takes you back into the history of this beautiful island.
