Highly recommend “The Hide”. Such a beautiful space, very clean, comfortable beds, good entertainment area and well equipped kitchen. The host Marian is very good to deal with and made our check in and out very smooth and easy. We will definitely be back!

A great escape

We’re already planning when we can come back again. Such a great, one of a kind house with easy access to private beach and terrific communal pool/bbq/playground/tennis facilities.

We keep coming back - that says it all.

This was our 4th and longest stay at the Drewhouse, and we will be back again. This time we had some heavy and rain at night - being amongst the trees with the rain on the roof made for the best sleep ever - which we all needed after a huge year. Being set amongst the trees and back from the road, with the wallabies, birds and sounds of cicadas, you feel instantly calm, grounded and connected to nature...and school/work become a distance memory. The house itself is unique, you feel like you are on holidays, almost camping but not, it is so thoughtfully designed and handcrafted without being showy...it has that quite luxury feel. Of course, the beach clubs are amazing, especially the infinity pools, but also the tennis and volleyball courts - we love the treehouse BBQ pavilions. There are some lovely bush walks and mostly we had the beach to ourselves. This time we had a few minor inconveniences thanks to some big storms, but the managers and owners dealt with these very quickly and without fuss.

Every single moment was a highlight

After a long drive from Brisbane and a stressful week of work, we arrived at the Drew house, and we could not believe, from the first moment we put our feet on this property, we felt like being on holidays: Relaxed, far away from work and daily routine...... We had a wonderful time at the Drewhouse. The house itself is fantastic, and Sunrise at 1770 is spectacular: The Beaches, the pools, the playground, the tennis courts....But one of the highlights for me was to sit on the huge deck, enjoy the silence, the nature and the feeling of perfect privacy, and even on a rainy day, I was fascinated by the colour of the bush in combination with the sound of the raindrops falling on the huge roof. I slept so well, I cannot describe it. And the kids: they have been in heaven. 5 Days was too short, we will be back :-). On top of that, you will be in touch with the very friendly and welcoming Owners, who put a lot of love in this place . Thank you so much for everything!

We stayed at Drewhouse and genuinely loved the nature, the quiet and all the curious wildlife wandering around. It’s a beautiful spot to switch off. The pods are roomy, clean, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly solid. Also appreciated the wine on arrival…. never a bad idea.Where it missed the mark for us was the “luxury” label. It feels like it was once truly luxurious, but it needs a fair bit of maintenance to get back there. Some appliances didn’t work due to a power issue (and age), the washing machine briefly gave up, and the deck fan refused to join in. We were happy to troubleshoot, but the fuse box was locked with a rusted lock, so even the electrician couldn’t get in… a locksmith eventually came but it was too late for our stay.Also worth noting: the big sliding doors into the living pod are extremely heavy… you need a bit of upper-body grunt…. and the bathroom doors that are meant to open out to nature were the same, so we didn’t bother.Overall, great if you want peace, wildlife and a bit of rustic retreat energy. Just don’t go in expecting modern luxury or ease, and probably not ideal for older travellers.

Thanks for the comments. It’s always good to know. The deck fan which was new is being replaced under warranty. Washing machine seemed to be working fine. Sliding doors have been attended to as well the cupboard door lock. Thanks again!

Great experience!

A wonderful short break with the family at this unique property. The only downside being that it was colder than expected and our stay was too short. Would be a great spring destination!

Bush retreat just bliss

Had a fabulous time in this space. Loved it so much we didn’t get to do half the things we planned. Estate facilities are fabulous and I love the fact that neighbours are not on top of each other. Just the birds and bush.

The Tank House

Loved the property, the lay out, expecially the kitchen, living and deck area just perfect, the only downfall of the property is that all the ceiling fans need a major overhaul and a couple of fans on the deck would be a great investment. Other than the fans, absolutely loved the property & community - pools are amazing:).

HI Deb, thanks for your review! You are right about the fans. I haven't been able to get up there because of covid and get the deck fan out of the lock up shed. We intend to install one large overhead fan soon which I think will service the deck area better. I'm also getting the other ceiling fans serviced as they only seem to be running at a low speed. Our Happy Place

This was out 4th and longest stay at the Drewhouse. The Drewhouse and the Sunrise at 1770 eco estate is our happy place. We have been coming for 10 years it's that good! We have had our honeymoon, baby moon and anniversaries here, so is such a special place to us. This time we visited te beautiful Lady Musgrave Island, but really I could have stayed inside this estate the whole time and would have been happy. We will definately be back.

Best Australian Holiday

The Pods are undoubtedly the best place we've ever stayed. Everything about them, from feeling so nurtured and cosy in the main Pod, whilst feeling totally secluded, to the sound of the waves rolling into the nearby beaches. We loved the concept, architecture, and the surroundings to the point that we could've just enjoyed the Pods all day without ever venturing out. We'll be back!

Amazing & one of a kind!

Such a beautiful one of kind property in a stunning location. You can tell how much thought and love has gone into the design. It was a real treat to stay in this beautiful property for a long weekend. The estate that the property is located within is next level amazing and so well cared for.

Bush and Beach Escape

The property is gorgeous, well equipped and has beautiful aesthetics. It is probably better suited as a summer house though, as the cold trips outside to the bathroom pod in the middle of the night in the dark would not be everyone's cup of tea. The facilities, tranquility and beaches are divine.

Supendous property, amazing location

I was so excited to come here, but iy was even better than I expected. The house was so enjoyable and beautiful, we loved discovering all the little design details which gave our stay a very personal feel- not surprising, as this house was built for a sister and brother and their families who love this area! I love the way the sleeping quarters are separate from the living quarters which gives you privacy from each other and it is just you and the bush outside the windows. I normally feel a little bit nervous walking by myself away from the main house ( we used to own a farm), but because I knew this was a private gated community I felt safe walking on the walkway to my bedroom at night. Because the beds are so comfortable this makes for the ultimate recharge and restore holiday!! Living room, kitchen, luxury bathroom and deck were stunning too, and we loved being in nature but with a big twist of comfort. My boyfriend enjoyed the kitchen because it had everything! We adored the infinity pool looking onto the beach and spent happy hours there swimming,sunbathing and having a bbq breakfast in the cabanas adjoining the pool house. My 83-year-old mother is not super mobile, but could negotiate the graduated pool steps. In fact the whole place would be reasonable wheel chair friendly except for the entrance walkway at the house (we put wood at the beginning of the walkway to create a tiny ramp so my mother could negotiate it herself). For me, I enjoyed the trail walks on the rocks by the beach. Lastly, the excellent espresso machine was so welcome! We had intended to take a fishing/snorkelling trip but we hardly left the place it was so nice, and my mother said it was the best holiday she had ever had- even better than Bedarra Island (which is super luxury)!! This place is great for families because it facilitates communication and just being together, whilst giving you space to to your own thing if you want to. I would love to return again with more of my family. We really did enjoy every minute, thankyou so much! Marian is an excellent communicator and very accessible, and she and her brother also provides lots of ideas, instructions and advice in the information pack.

Perfect House - Perfect Location

Drew House was a perfect getaway. The house, location and amenities were all top quality. The pools were an absolute standout. Communication with the owners was also superb - thank you. The coffee machine made the mornings even more perfect. Will definitely be going back....

Beautiful as always

We just got back from our holiday and I wanted to let you know what a lovely time we had in Agnes again – the Drewhouse is so beautiful, such effortless style and such a connectedness with the bush, our daughter loved the beach clubs of course – it really was what the doctor ordered after all the craziness of 2020. Our friends fell in love with it and I am sure they will back to stay as will we.

One of the best stays in Australia!!!

This could be one of the best exclusive estates in Australia. It takes in some tranquil natural bush while being close to town and having amazing facilities. The home then boasts a very creative and special place to reside while there. Some cool wildlife that comes to visit and experience. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the lounge/dining/kitchen made our stay homely and welcoming. You HAVE to check this place out and stay at least 3 days to enjoy the place and surrounds...

Great house in a very special location

We loved our stay here. Being on holidays we wanted to experience something different to our home life. This house and it's location within a really special eco estate provided that. The configuration of the house worked well and we especially loved the outdoor area where we spent most of our time. It was also well equipped, especially the kitchen with sharp knives and a great gas cook top. Beds were comfy with good quality linen and bath towels. Numerous birds came to the bird bath and privacy was good so we really experienced being in the bush which was very relaxing. The estate also has 2 gorgeous horizon edge pools accompanied by well equipped cabanas you can use to have a BBQ. The beach is stunning in a rugged way and feels private. Not your average holiday house and it won't suit everyone but we loved it and hope to be back!
