Warego Cottage ist ein Ferienhaus auf unserem Grundstück "Stratford", das im Herzen des O'Connell Valley liegt, umgeben vom Fischfluss, 20 Minuten von Bathurst und 25 Minuten von Oberon

Das Anwesen trägt Rinder, wächst Luzerne und fortgeschrittene Landschaftsbäume

Warego Cottage ist ein altes renoviertes, komplett in sich geschlossenes, komfortabel eingerichtetes Landhaus. Es wurde 2019 innen und außen komplett neu gestrichen. Genießen Sie die Erfahrung des ländlichen Lebensstils.

Es bietet absolute Privatsphäre mit herrlichem Blick auf das O'Connell-Tal in Richtung des Fish River, für den der Besucher einen privaten Zugang zu einer über 2 km langen Flussfront für Picknicks, Angeln oder gemütliche Spaziergänge hat.

Es gibt 2 Schlafzimmer - 1 Queensize-Bett und 2 Einzelbetten mit Heizdecken, Doonas und Bettwäsche.

Das Wohnzimmer verfügt über einen Holzofen, Klimaanlage und bequeme Sofas zum Entspannen. Es gibt einen digitalen Fernseher mit DVD, Radio, CD und Bluetooth sowie viele Zeitschriften, Bücher und Spiele.

In der voll ausgestatteten Küche finden Sie alles, was Sie brauchen, wenn Sie einen Familienbraten kochen oder einfach nur einen schnellen Snack genießen möchten.
Draußen gibt es einen Grill mit Gas versorgt.

Das Badezimmer verfügt über eine Dusche und einen Waschtisch, beheizte Handtuchhalter, Wandheizkörper und eine Waschmaschine mit Waschmittel.

Die nach Norden ausgerichtete Veranda ist ein wunderbarer Ort, um die Aussicht zu genießen oder die untergehende Sonne zu beobachten.

Das Cottage befindet sich 1 km vom O'Connell Hotel entfernt, das hervorragende "Pub" -Mahlzeiten bietet, und das gegenüberliegende O'Connell Avenue Cafe ist von Freitag bis Sonntag für ein leckeres Frühstück und Mittagessen geöffnet
.
Die berühmten kühlen Mayfield Gardens sind 20 Minuten entfernt. Sie sind jeden Tag geöffnet, um ihren berühmten "Wassergarten" zu sehen, und es gibt ein köstliches Café und ein Kinderzimmer
 
Jenolan Caves ist 1 1/4 Stunden über Oberon entfernt

Angeln können Sie auf Ihrem eigenen privaten Abschnitt des Fish River (über 2 km) sowie an den Oberon und den nahe gelegenen Chifley-Dämmen. Ansonsten machen Sie ein Picknick und genießen Sie die natürliche Schönheit unseres Flusses. Sie kennen Ihr Glück nie - Sie sehen vielleicht das dort lebende Schnabeltier!

Lovely country cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the wood fire kept the cottage nice and cosy when there were cold winds and frosts outside! It was very comfortable and we felt very much at home. The location is perfect halfway between Bathurst and Oberon and its only about 20 minutes away from the amazing Mayfield Gardens.

Comfortable, quiet and very private.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The privacy was appreciated, with no residences in sight, and we wanted for nothing during our time. With an early opening coffee shop and a pub serving counter meals within walking distance it was very convenient. There was a lot to do in the area and we would be happy to return. Very relaxing.

We enjoyed our stay very much, it is a charming cottage in a picturesque setting. David and Pennie are very welcoming. The only improvement I could suggest is to upgrade the queen mattress.

A magic experience

Warhol cottage was a wonderful home to return to during our stay in the Oberon area. Our host, Pennie was very welcoming and supportive. The cottage was clean and inviting and situated in a relaxing, rural environment. I certainly hope to return one day.

Cosy and comfortable. Spectacular views.

The cottage is very comfortable and in a beautiful setting close by the river. There is a gorgeous verandah which faces north ,flooded in Winter sun, with spectacular views. The slow combustion heater warms the cottage and plenty of wood is supplied. The O'Connell pub has fabulous food and the café opposite serves great coffee Fri, Sat &Sun.

I visited the exhibition on the Friday - my goodness what a very well organised event and spectacular to see. I gather it was a great success with visitors from all over the place. How did the fishing go? I hope you enjoyed the experience of being on the river. Did the girls enjoy the show? It was the first time we took our little grandchildren 2&3! they loved the animals and rides. Please don't worry about the sheets - all are clean and white! Relaxing Country Hide-away...

Unwind and get back to nature and good old Aussie countryside where the horses are your neigh....bours! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Warego! Nice location

2 adults travelling to the mayfield gardens, stayed for 2 nights. We have enjoyed our stay here. The house and furniture are a bit dated, but location is beautiful and very convenient for mayfield gardens visit. The owners have provided a number of nice touches to make it a comfortable and pleasant stay (wood fire, kitchen provisions, music and books, fresh flowers). We enjoyed watching birdlife, sunsets and sunrises from the back deck and the front porch. The night sky was a spectacle too.

Wonderful stay

We recently stayed at Warrego Cottage and our hosts were amazing and the cottage had everything we needed. The setting was very tranquil and quiet with beautiful views. Great place for a peaceful weekend

I am so pleased to have found this cottage! David and Pennie, the owners, are lovely and made the communication very easy. We felt like at home in this big cottage where everythinh is thought to make you feel good. The fireplace was a hit for the kids, and the electric blankets in each bed made our nights very comfy! We highly recommend for a quiet weekend in the middle of nowhere :))

The perfect place for a relaxing weekend!

This cottage is perfectly positioned for a relaxing weekend (or longer stay!) away. We loved watching the sun set from the verandah and the gorgeous scenery from the windows. The beds were very comfy and the cottage contained everything we need. It was sparkling clean and beautifully decorated with the host’s artwork. My family and I had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful home, and can’t wait to return.

Comfy "rustic" cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Warrego cottage. Pennie was very welcoming and had even left vases of roses on our arrival which was a lovely touch. Beds and bed linen very fresh, clean and comfortable. Location was good and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the late afternoon watching the horses birds rabbits and kangaroos. The cottage is well equipped however badly in need of some updating and cleaning. It is very old and shabby.

Weekend stopover

Stand alone country cottage with 270 degree country views from inside. The owners, who live nearby on the property, were welcoming but not intrusive. I enjoyed my time on the north facing deck. The bedrooms and loungeroom are nicely decorated. The kitchen and bathroom are clean and functional but old. The walk to the river was somewhat overgrown and not particularly appealing during the time of our visit. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was a pleasant change of pace following our stay in Canberra.

Fantastic family holiday at Warego Cottage

We, a family of three with 5yo boy, just came back to Sydney from our Christmas vacation in Oberon and surrounding areas for a week. We stayed at Warego Cottage for 5 days and loved every bit of our stay there. It's conveniently located and roughly in between Oberon and Bathurst and it's only a short drive in both directions. There's plenty to explore around the area and the tranquil sceneries are just delightful. The cows and horses are beautiful to watch and local wildlife (birds, rabbits and wallabies) are a huge bonus especially when travelling with kids. The owner's dog is also super friendly and gorgeous. There was everything we needed in the cottage and we even used the fireplace as it was quite chilly in the evening unlike the usual summer holidays we would've expected. Air-conditioning unit's also in the lounge. Pennie and David were very welcoming and thoughtful : Pennie even got lactose free milk for us and flowers in the vase from the garden which was just an extra touch of kindness. I personally spent hours just looking at their beautiful horses and having a walk around the property. Our 5yo son had such a great time while staying at Warego Cottage and we'd love to return as our regular holiday destination in the future. The only criticism I can think of would be the mattress in the main bedroom as my back didn't agree with it. But for the rest it was perfect for us.

Beautiful property!

We had a wonderful stay, Pennie is a fantastic host, and the town of O'Connell is beautiful. The property has everything you need for a getaway, our entire family loved it!

Our family has owned this property since 1908.
Over the years they have farmed sheep, cattle and grown vegetable crops.
David & I are the third generation to live here. Today we carry cattle and grow advanced ornamental trees for the landscape industry.

Warego cottage has been on our property for for 25 years. It was originally used for farm accomodation and we converted it 10 years ago for holiday rental.
Over the years we have worked to keep it up to date.
We have greatly enjoyed letting our cottage out for this purpose as we have met so many interesting and very nice people from all over the world, many have become good friends returning often throughout the years.

The cottage is typical of farm cottages. It is very comfortable and cosy set in the middle of the farm. It is separate from the main homestead so offers privacy and is quiet.
For summer there is air conditioning and a wood fire box for beautiful warmth in the winter. We supply the wood.
The sitting room has 2 sofas and 2 single arm chairs.
There is a digital TV with video. A CD, radio & blue tooth music system and bookcase with plenty of books and magazines to read, as well as games.
The north facing verandah overlooks the paddocks towards the river and is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view or setting sun with a gl;ass of wine.
Visitors are welcome to wander around. Especially along the river where they can enjoy the tranquil peace, going for a swim or do some fishing.
