Dieses traditionelle, charaktervolle Ferienhaus liegt in einer reizvollen Landschaft neben dem Haus der Eigentümer im Dorf Onecote. Das örtliche Restaurant ist nur 100 Meter entfernt. Vom Dorf aus kann man hervorragend durch das Tal der Hamps und weiter in das Manifold Valley laufen. Die Stadt Leek (11 km) bietet eine Vielzahl antiker Geschäfte und verschiedene Geschäfte zum Erkunden. Auf dem Manifold Trail ist ein Fahrradverleih 6 km entfernt. Die Alton Towers mit dem Splash Landings Waterpark und die Dampfeisenbahn von Churnet Valley befinden sich im Umkreis von 16 km. Etwa 24 km entfernt befinden sich die Trentham Gardens, der Monkey Forest, Waterworld und das Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent sowie das Chatsworth House und die Sudbury Hall (NT). Uttoxeter bietet Pferderennen und andere Showground-Events an. Golf 4 Meilen. Geschäft und Restaurant 4 Meilen, Pub 100 Meter.

Von Ashbourne aus nehmen Sie die A52 in Richtung Leek. Nach ca. 8 Meilen, an der Kreuzung mit der B5053 biegen Sie rechts ab und nach 1 Meile kommen Sie zu Onecote. Das Garden Cottage befindet sich direkt nach dem Haus des Eigentümers auf der rechten Straßenseite, kurz vor dem Jervis Arms Pub auf der linken Seite.
Urlauber werden gebeten, am Anreisetag nach 16:00 Uhr anzureisen und am Abreisetag vor 10:00 Uhr zu räumen, sofern mit dem Eigentümer nichts anderes vereinbart wurde.
ANKUNFTSDETAILS
Bitte rufen Sie die Eigentümerin Frau Sedgwick einige Tage vor Ihrem Urlaub unter der Telefonnummer 01538 304380 oder 07952 069203 an, um die Schlüsselübergabe und die voraussichtliche Ankunftszeit zu vereinbaren.
Die Geländer- / Balustradenhöhe beträgt weniger als 1 m und der Abstand zwischen den Spindeln beträgt mehr als 10 cm. ZUSÄTZLICHE GEBÜHREN - Zentralheizung gegen Gebühr von 25 £ pro Woche (15 £ pro Woche). Die anfängliche Lieferung von Brennholz für den Holzbrenner ist im Preis enthalten, danach vor Ort erhältlich.

We loved our stay and Xmas at Garden Cottage. The cottage is a traditional, period building (it does have low beams so tall people need to be cautious..ha ha!), very comfy, cosy with a log burner and this was fabulous for providing us with some Xmas ambience. The cottage also has very efficient radiators so we were always warm.Located in the Peak District and near the town of Leek, it is a great spot to explore all the beautiful countryside and towns of the area. The cottage is dog friendly but just note it is located on a quiet, country road and the occasional traffic does fly along so I recommend not allowing your dog outside of the walled garden at the front just in case.Plenty of kitchen amenities available for use including a lovely big electric stove and oven. Our hosts even provided some milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper which was appreciated.The cottage is literally 50 metres from a lovely, family run pub called the Jervis Arms so very handy for a quiet drink and delicious food.Our host, Mike, was so helpful and provided us with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend Garden Cottage to others and would love to stay there again one day.

What a gem!

We booked the cottage for a week's stay whike work was being done on our home. It was a real home from home too. Everything's there, including electric blankets to warm the beds. Although thd heating kept the cottage toasty, we turned most off except living room and bathroom. Loved the log burner too, a real focal point. Internet provided was good, a bonus as the phone signal there is poor, as is most of the local area due to hills etc. Would certainly recommend.

The property was very clean, and well equipped. Being an older type cottage, it had plenty of charisma. The village is situated in an ideal place for exploring. The main town of Leek is only a few miles away. The property owner is nearby for any queries, and was most helpful.

Lovely cosy cottage near Leek. Some good walks nearby - recommend the Manifold Valley especially in Autumn colours. Garden Cottage is a traditional cottage in a beautiful location. Mick, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful and had ensured additional cleaning had been done for our arrival, which was a weight off our minds in the current climate. In fact, the cottage was spotless and there were an abundance of cleaning products, cloths, handwash etc for our use, which was pleasing as they haven't always been included in past accomadations we've stayed at. The property is traditionally and sympathetically decorated,which was exactly what we wanted. The view from the courtyard garden is stunning, and The Jervis Arms is about 50 yards away. The have a large beer garden with a stream which the kids can play in, and the meal we had there was gorgeous. Leek is only a 10 minute drive, with supermarkets for supplies. We visited Rudyard Lake (25 mins away) and Heights of Abraham (40 mins) which were great. If you are looking for power showers and light and airy rooms, you'll be disappointed. But if you want cosy rooms, log fires, beams and to emmerse yourself in country life for a few days, then I would absolutely recommend Garden Cottage. We will visit again. A warm, cosy, well equipped cottage located a short drive from The Roaches, Luds church and Thors cave. We were made to feel very welcome by our host Mick who also checked in mid stay to make sure all was OK, Mick really couldn't do enough for you and even had the fire made up on our arrival, ready to light should it turn cold. The Jervis Arms public house is a very short walk away, the food and beer was good and was reasonably priced. If we need accommodation in the area again we will definitely consider Garden Cottage. Stayed at Garden Cottage between 21st and 28th December so celebrated Christmas in this lovely property in Onecote village. The cottage was fully equipped and we didn't need any 'just in case' kitchen items so no need to bother with taking corkscrew, grater, peeler etc. Mike greeted us on arrival and was really friendly and helpful re local area e.g. recommended good field for our dog and the close by Jervis Arms. There were logs for the wood burner, a stunning Christmas tree and much appreciated tea bags and milk. Lots of handy leaflets about local attractions too. The cottage was simply charming with its deep set windows, wooden beams and slanted ceiling. We felt so relaxed there and would definitely book again. Gable Cottage, on the other side of Moorland House where Mike and Lorraine live, is equally delightful and we would try to book both cottages as a larger party to visit family in Leek over the holidays.

The cottage was clean and tidy.

The cottage was clean and tidy. The proprietor lived next door and was very pleasant and solicitous about our comfort. There was off-road parking, but it could be a bit tricky emerging onto the road which was sometimes quite busy. We stayed with two dogs; they were happy there.

Have just returned from a blissful week in Onecote. Perfect cottage in a idyllic setting. If you love getting away from it all, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside, then this Cottage is for you. We met Mick (owner) on arrival and he kindly showed us around this gorgeous little cottage and even provided a bottle of milk so that we could have a cuppa straight away. Very close to Alton Towers, much to my daughter and niece's delight. We loved it here and just wish we could have stayed longer.

Quiet village stay

We were very happy with the property and the facilities therein. The owner could not have been more helpful. There's no mobile phone signal in the area but the WiFi in the cottage was adequate for our needs. One suggestion for a small improvement: a wall-mounted mirror in the bathroom would have been nice.
