Dated, smelly, not clean
We agreed to rent a this house for a week in middle of June. We saw pictures that seemed to show the house in satisfactory condition. We asked to stay at the home for a night on over Memorial Day which we paid for. On that day and night, we found the conditions to be unacceptable. The carpets were all damp, there was a strong smell of mildew throughout the home, the paint was peeling, and there was an overall dirty condition to the house.
We contacted the homeowner immediately and asked for our money back for the rental week a couple of weeks later. Despite repeated requests, the homeowner refused to make any refund.
On the first day of the rental week, we stopped by the house to see its condition. Nothing changed. The carpets were damp, there were damp towels laid on top of the couches, the garbage was not empty, there was mildew and musty smell throughout the house, the paint was peeling. The conditions were not sanitary. We left after 5 minutes and we contacted the owner again requesting a refund which he refused. We had to seek accommodations elsewhere at an additional expense to ourselves.
I do not recommend this house.
