Ormrods liegt auf einer Anhöhe im Dorf Withypool, abseits der Durchfahrtsstraße, mit weitem Blick auf das Moor und den Barle. In den letzten Jahren umfassend zu einem hohen Standard renoviert, ist dies ein sehr komfortables Einfamilienhaus mit drei Schlafzimmern.



Ormrods liegt in einem 1 Hektar großen Privatgarten, der direkt zum Fluss Barle fĂŒhrt. Die WohnrĂ€ume befinden sich im ersten Stock und bieten den besten Blick auf den Moor in Richtung SĂŒden, Osten und Westen. Doppelklappbare TĂŒren fĂŒhren vom Wohn- und Essbereich auf einen SĂŒdbalkon mit Tisch und StĂŒhlen, um die langen Sommerabende optimal zu nutzen.

Das Anwesen wurde 2010 umfassend renoviert und renoviert und bietet sehr komfortable FerienunterkĂŒnfte fĂŒr bis zu 6 Personen. Der Eingang zur Unterkunft befindet sich im ersten Stock. Das Wohnzimmer, KĂŒche-Esszimmer, Dienstprogramm, ein Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und Dusche mit WC und Waschbecken sind auf dieser ersten Etage. Im Erdgeschoss befinden sich zwei weitere Schlafzimmer, beide mit eigenem Duschbad.



Bis zu zwei (maximal) gut erzogene Hunde sind gegen einen Aufpreis von 15 pro Hund willkommen. Bitte erlauben Sie keine Hunde auf den Möbeln oder in den Schlafzimmern. Der Hauswirtschaftsraum hat Fußbodenheizung, damit die Hunde die WĂ€rme genießen können, die zu ihren Betten durchfiltert. Bitte lassen Sie Ihre Hunde nicht unbeaufsichtigt im Haus und rĂ€umen Sie sie jederzeit auf. Außerdem gibt es im Garten einen Doppelhundezwinger mit getrennten Abfahrten, falls Sie ihn nutzen möchten.

Good to have basic Sky package, but the TV is small for the room. Aga/Rayburn is quite difficult to use and the oven takes a long time to heat up. Having said that, there was plenty of hot water, and heating if desired. We enjoyed our stay.

This house is so well situated 2 minutes walk to the tea room with scrumptious sandwiches and cake, and a 5 minute walk to to Royal Oak pub great food and very friendly, and the post office/shop is well stocked with essentials and gifts, the garden runs down to the river which is full of little trout, the garden is a bit steep but most of the time is spent on the balcony taking in the amazing views. Very pleased.

It is a lovely house in a perfect spot, lovely tearoom, friendly pub which serves excellent food, and a well stocked shop/post office with all the essentials and gifts too, everywhere is dog friendly, Dulverton is a lovely little town, good tearooms, good food at The Bridge and for a special meal Woods at the top of the town is excellent and again a well stocked CoOp supermarket. The only issue is the garden is not totally dog proof, our energetic large dog easily managed to jump up the bank by the kennels and try to follow one of our party to the shop, luckily we were with him and saw him do it and the lane to the house is very quiet.

First visit to Ormrods although have been visiting Exmoor for over 30 years - we were delighted with the property which is very comfortable and well equipped. The weather was incredible and at times far too hot but the house provided some cool comfort especially when the bifold doors onto the terrace were fully open - the views are delightful, just hope the trees and shrubs do not encroach too much on the vista. We would not hesitate to recommend Ormrods and should like to thank the Owners for letting us share their home. We hope to return next year!

Withypool is a small moorland village in the heart of Exmoor National Park, set in a beautiful valley where the River Barle flows beneath a handsome six-arched medieval bridge.



The village has been a popular destination for countryside lovers for well over a century. The author R.D. Blackmore, who wrote Lorna Doone, stayed here, as did General Eisenhower, who used the area for D-Day training in the 1940s. At the centre of village life is The Royal Oak Inn, a welcoming 18th-century pub serving real ales, local ciders, and hearty food. The village also has a charming tea room and a small shop and post office selling everyday essentials, local honey, handmade soaps, and art.



Withypool sits at a natural crossroads in central Exmoor, making it an excellent base for exploring the moor in all directions. The River Barle is one of the finest rivers on Exmoor, and the walks along its banks -- south to the ancient Tarr Steps or north to the medieval Landacre Bridge -- are among the most beautiful in the National Park.



The nearest small town is Dulverton (approximately 7 miles), known as the southern gateway to Exmoor, where you will find a mini-supermarket, butcher, post office, chemist, cash machine, and a good selection of independent shops and restaurants. Minehead (approximately 12 miles) has larger supermarkets, petrol stations, and high street facilities.
