Beach getaway 🐬🏖

Staying here has made me look into getting a condo. I loved the decor! It was like walking into HomeGoods! Short walk to beach and I enjoyed the complimentary beach chairs.

Beautiful place to stay

I enjoyed my stay everything was great, the only complaint was the dryer didn't work & I called in to have it repaired, but no one came until the day before I left, so I made several trips to the dryer on the lobby floor. But they did repair it, & other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Nice location, not as clean as we had hoped.

Pros: Fully stocked kitchen with all supplies you would need, big bathrooms, large master bedroom, huge balcony with access in three rooms, plenty of towels. We enjoyed the resort pool and though we didn't use it, the pool and beach bars were cool. Cons: musty smell in the condo, carpet seemed very dirty, sheets were clean but not comforters or blankets, no sheet set for pull out bed, which we were depending on. Outlets in bathrooms didn't work and maintenance seemed stumped about it. Overall, my biggest problem was the cleanliness.

Love Surfside, just not this condo/Owner

This is our 4th year coming to Surfside. Overall we absolutely love the resort. This time however the owners of the condo we stayed at were not very personal and had terrible communication. I had no idea how the check in or check out process went until right at 4pm the day of our check in. In the past I have gotten a detailed email at least 12 hours beforehand. There was also no email about checking out at all. But they did inform me after checkout that the giant rubber wrist bands we were supposed to wear were $25 each if they were lost. Well we had three children with tiny wrists who went swimming. Wet adult- sized silicone wristbands on children and the ocean don’t mix. It would have been nice to have had that $25 memo beforehand. The condo was fine and clean, but I’ll be avoiding this owner/ RealJoy in the future.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to provide us with some feedback regarding your rental experience while staying in the two-bed, two-bath Surfside Resort #309, which is managed by Real Joy Vacations. We are very happy to know that you absolutely love this resort and found this condo to be fine and clean. On the day of arrival, an email is sent at 2:00 p.m. that provides gate codes, parking information, door codes, etc. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. Check-out information is sent the afternoon before a guest's departure. The arrival notes and the placard posted inside the unit next to the wristbands clearly state that a $25 charge is incurred for missing wristbands. Yes, they are normal size, which is perhaps not the best idea for children. We will mentioned the size of the wristbands to the HOA, as the wristband policy we adhere to is their requirement. Very nice condo! Decorated very cute and beachy.

The condo was great and beds were comfy! The overall complex is older and could use some updates but it was good. Easy walk across the street or walkway to beach. The sand and water are beautiful!! But lots and lots of people on the beach. Baytown Wharf in Miramar is a very close drive and super cute! Worth going to and watching fireworks on Wednesday nights. Lots of traffic driving to Destin or Seaside but are cute areas.

Prior to booking this reservation the reviews were not good, but in spite of that we booked so glad we did The Condo was absolutely amazing to locations of beach just steps away, stores, food etc. Also the Condo was clean updated and bathrooms was great looked luxury. We loved patio with views of gulf. Loved having 2 loungers & umbrella at the beach. Also appreciated being able to cook in with fully functional kitchen. Then having Access to washer and dryer in the unit made it possible not to travel home with sand filled clothes & towels. I will DEFINITELY be booking again in the future. Restaurant on site served subpar food for price we paid, never again. Overall the stay was awesome. Last thing, the last night we went to The Track amusement park (6 miles away) it was great for entire family. Real joy allowed early check in , all information sent timely. Every time i called their response was immediate. THANK YOU VRBO/REAL-JOY for making our vacation the best!! The Wilsons & Johnsons

Great place to stay if you're looking for a place to stay along the beach, had a great time ... wish we were able to check in a little bit earlier ...only mishap was prior to walking in the room we heard voices and out goes a person rushing out saying they were checking the room to make sure it was tiddy ... they were being awkwardly nervous and rushed out ... they had a card to the room so we didnt think anything of it ...

Rental company

The only problem we had was on our last day, evening time someone knocked on the door, then knew the door code and walked in. Didn’t say who he was or what he wanted, just said oh I’m sorry didn’t know someone staying here. We contacted the rental company and said it was one of their own. Just find it worrisome that someone just came on in, and from a rental company who should have known someone was staying there.

We are happy to know that you had an overall good stay in this two-bed/two-bath condo and we are thankful for your five-star review. We would like to truly apologize for the incident which occurred on your last day. Yes, one of our inspectors showed up unannounced. He did knock and let himself in via the door code to drop something off, a day early. This was truly our mistake. We are running new software and are making adjustments. Unfortunately this detail was overlooked. We always notify guests if we need access to a unit while they are renting. The only exception would be during an emergency, which we would still ensure the guest is kept in the loop. Thank you for your patience and for choosing Real Joy.

family vacation

our view was of maintenance personnel walking around smoking and talking. They should be grateful for the one bald man who was always working. Washer and dryer worked, very noisy. Room was very sticky, needed good cleaning. Don't look under furniture , found what looked like cat food. Front desk gave us the correct key code for the gates! We sent message to vergo never received reply. Took pictures of damage we found when we arrived, so they are date stamped. For the price we had to pay very disappointed . Although the Staff at the resort were always pleasant and helpful. WE should have read the reviews more carefully. We will never stay there again

Perfect location

This was a perfect property for our vacation, clean, well equipped and very well located! Access to the beach is just steps away, restaurant is great and front desk is friendly and helpful. Overall great experience and would rent again.

Lovely Stay

We had a lovely stay here, very relaxing location, it was clean & near everything. Plenty of space inside the condo with the unusual layout and big balcony outside. We loved hitting Whale's Tail after soaking up some sun. No complaints, had a nice time.

Ok overall, nice location but the property is showing its age

Overall we had an ok stay. The property management is top notch with lots of communication and a very organized process from reservation to check out. We did have an issue with a plumbing leak that was discovered just prior to our arrival by their staff (stuff happens). They managed it well except that it ultimately resulted in us only being able to use one of the two baths for several days. They did make it right with an entertainment activity for the group. Overall the unit is well equipped in the kitchen and the location is nice. There were multiple vertical blind segments missing in the East facing bedroom so the kids woke up at 5:30 every morning until we found spares in a closet and hung them ourselves. Like the building overall this unit is showing its age. With some TLC it would be a great spot for your week at the beach.

Very nice

There were some difficulties with the check in process. First the front desk didn't have any record of our reservation and wouldn't give us parking passes to park at the resort until we had RealJoy call the resort and confirm our reservation. Something I thought would have been taken care of before we got there. After all that was taken care of we were able to enjoy our stay. I don't think that resort likes RealJoy renters they seem to be very frustraited with RealJoy. I probably will never use RealJoy again. The condo was very nice. It had all the extras you could imagine. There seem to be a water or condensation leak in the hall way and the kitchen light switch sparked and smoked when you turned it on and off. One of the elevators went down and it was always a 5 to 10 minute wait for the other one.They balcony view was great for sunrises if you are an early riser like myself. The walk to the beach was easy. Over all it was a great place. Very very busy in July. Would probably recommend may or mid August to anyone thinking of staying here.

Hi Dan, we’re happy that you found the condo very nice with all the extras you could imagine and enjoyed the sunrises from the balcony. It is a beautiful condo. We apologize for the snafu with the front desk, that doesn’t happen often. It’s hard to say whether the communication error was ours or theirs. Some building managers just don’t like it when other property managers are in charge of units in their building. It happens, and we apologize regardless of the cause of the situation. We were aware of the condensation leak in the hallway and had done our best to address that problem before your arrival but were unaware of the kitchen light switch issue. We’re getting that taken care of now that we have been informed via this review and wish you had contacted us during your stay about that. We appreciate your feedback, all feedback makes us better property managers and hope you will reconsider and stay with Real Joy again.

Nice space, Faulty AC

The space is nice with redone counter tops, appliances, and bathrooms, as well as a spacious master; however, the AC wasn't blowing out cold air, just luke warm air. After calling and reporting this issue on 3 separate occasions, the problem was never fixed. This made the unit very uncomfortable to be in, especially when it was time to sleep at night. Hopefully this issue is fixed for the next person, as I can only imagine what it would have been like with a whole family and kids in there.

Very happy with vacation

We stayed in room 309 which was one of the best decisions we've made for vacation. Our keys and parking passes were at the desk when we arrived. There were dollies for the suitcases which made unloading easier. The room was clean and pretty up to date. We had a view of the pool/deck and most importantly of the ocean. Each room (bedrooms and living space) had patio access. There were 6 of us (including a baby) and everyone seemed pretty comfortable. The wrap around mirrors made the space seem even bigger. There is a formal dining room table to eat meals together if people wished. I wish we would have known that there would be beach toys and boogie boards in the unit so we didn't need to bring our own, but its better to under promise and over deliver! We had direct beach access from the building which made things more convenient and saved us from having to find parking etc. We will definitely be back and look forward to renting this unit again.
