For relaxing holidays, you can't beat this detached cottage with its pool in a large enclosed garden; set amongst the verdant hills of the island, it has been lovingly restored to provide all modern facilities, yet preserved many of the features of an old traditional property. A big joy of this property is the large terraced areas surrounded by a fenced garden with trees and flowers, that you can enjoy at different times of the day. The roomy terrace is a lovely sheltered spot with shade provided by trees or covered patios, and color provided by potted flowers. There is plenty of room to sunbathe, to enjoy the views and the stunning sunset, or to dine outside; there is also a stone-built barbeque perfect for outdoor cooking. Whether you choose to take your breakfast and meal, or sunbathe by he pool, enjoying the verdant hills and lush countryside, garden furniture and sun beds are at your disposal. There is a small front terrace, off the living room with views to the sea.

Marvelous Holiday!

We had a very relaxed and wonderful time at the blue cottage :-). The house was very well equipped, we had all what we needed. All was functioning well and the barbeque outside was also very nice. All was very clean. The cottage is located in a quiet place in the mountains, there is no direct neighbour. We loved it! Thank you Dimitris and your nice family for making our stay there so lovely :-).

A beautiful peaceful stay. We loved it.

What a beautiful villa, with stunning views in total peace and quiet. The pool and garden are lovely with lots of space to relax. The hammock is a great place to read in the shade of the afternoon. The villa is well equipped, rustic and quiet. If you're looking to get away from it all this is the place. And close to beautiful beaches and Skopelos town. You can drive most places within 15-20 minutes. Thank you Dimitris and your family for looking after us and for your kind parting gifts. We'll be back for another stay soon.

This is one of the best places we ever have stayed. The house is beautiful, charming, and comfortable. It is not over-modernised, and still has real Greek charm and feel. We really loved this, particularly the out-door kitchen. The setting is peaceful and remote, with fine views of the mountains. Skopelos seems to have got busier over the last few years, but even in August we found real tranquility here. Although you need to drive to reach beaches and restaurants, the house is very central; everywhere is within fairly easy reach. We felt very relaxed and at home here immediately, and would love to return. Thank you Dimitris and your lovely parents for sharing this paradise.

Fantastic Villa and Island

Such a lovely place to stay. Dimitris was great and was on hand should we need him. His parents cleaned the Villa half way through our stay. The Villa was very clean and the pool was lovely. As other reviews say you would definitely need a car to stay at this property but Dimitris arranged all of this for us. There was fresh fruit including lemons and cherries in the garden. The wildlife was fantastic. The Villa was very quiet with not many cars passing. We would recommend going to Agnanti in Glossa for dinner one night as it had spectacular views and food was amazing. Also hiring a boat from wind speed boat rental. Me and my partner got engaged when we were on the island so it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you Dimitris for the wonderful Villa and your assistance.

Wunderschöne Oase inmitten wilder Natur.

Inmitten der wunserschönen Insel Skopelos, ist das Cottage der perfekte Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr jeden Ausflug: Ob Wanderung, kleine, charmante Dörfchen, StrĂ€nde oder natĂŒrlich die imposante Sunset Tour mit dem Kajak am Milia Beach, all das ist von hier aus sehr gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Zum BĂ€cker und zum Supermarkt zu fahren ist zwar auch jedes Mal ein kleiner "Ausflug", aber so einsam zu wohnen nehmen wir hier gerne in Kauf, denn das Haus selber ist ein Idyll – die Bilder zeigen alles so wie es ist, es ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und sauber. Herzlichen Dank nochmal an die immer sehr hilfsbereiten Vermieter.

wunderschöne Idylle fĂŒr Ruhesuchende

Wunderschöne Unterkunft in den Bergen. Wir verbrachten 2 wundervolle Wochen in dieser traumhaften Umgebung. Das GrundstĂŒck ist gross - wir durften reife FrĂŒchte pflĂŒcken und den Steinofen nutzen, in dem wir Fleischspiesse und Fisch gegrillt haben...Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und kommen alle 3 Tage, um den Pool und die Blumen zu versorgen. Wir kommen gern wieder!! Beautiful little house in the mountains. We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this fantastic setting. The property is large - we were allowed to pick ripe fruit and use the stone oven, where we grilled meat and fish ... The owners are very nice and come every 3 days to supply the pool and the flowers. We would love to come back!

Juwel in den Bergen

Nach der Internetrecherche hatten wir ja eine Vorstellung von dem Anwesen, unsere Erwartungen wurden allerdings um ein Vielfaches ĂŒbertroffen. Wir durften hier 3 wundervolle Wochen verbringen. Das Haus ist wirklich traumhaft und sehr privat, absolute Alleinlage im Berg. Die Ruhe und Stille sind grandios. Die Vermieter, Dimitris und seine Eltern, sind sehr gastfreundlich und aufmerksam. Haus und Anlage sind sehr sauber und gepflegt. Alle 3 Tage werden Haus, Anlage und Pool gereinigt sowie die HandtĂŒcher, die PooltĂŒcher und die BettwĂ€sche gewechselt. Dimitris Eltern, die fĂŒr den Reinigungsservice zustĂ€ndig sind, sind sehr rĂŒcksichtsvoll. Bevor sie das GrundstĂŒck betraten, hupten sie in der Einfahrt, um ihr Kommen anzukĂŒndigen, warteten noch einige Minuten ab, bevor sie das Tor passierten. Sehr diskret. Die Gastgeber verwöhnten uns mit selbstgemachtem Skopelos-cheese-pie oder angesetztem Likör ..., herzlichen Dank dafĂŒr, es hat uns ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Wir haben uns nicht wie in einer Unterkunft, sondern wie in einem Zuhause gefĂŒhlt. Wir liebten dieses Haus. Auf diesem Weg nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön fĂŒr den entspanntesten Urlaub, den wir je hatten und liebe GrĂŒĂŸe nach Skopelos.

Paradies fĂŒr Ruhesuchende

Es waren wunderschöne 2 Wochen in diesem Traumhaus. Wer Trubel sucht, ist hier natĂŒrlich falsch. Ein Auto ist dringend notwendig. "Mal eben" in den Ort fahren .. nein, das geht nicht. Man sollte seine EinkĂ€ufe sorgfĂ€ltig planen :-) Dieses wunderschöne Haus hat alles, was man fĂŒr einen ruhigen Urlaub benötigt ... als frisch verliebtes Paar (so wie wir) ist es natĂŒrlich der absolute Wahnsinn. Man hat das GefĂŒhl, man ist dort allein auf der Welt. An die absolute Stille muss man sich als Stadtmensch auch erstmal gewöhnen, dann fĂ€ngt man an, zu genießen. Abends am Hausfeuer zu sitzen und nur das Knistern des Feuers mit den Ziegenglöckchen eines Nachbarhauses zu vernehmen, ist Erholung pur. Lieben Dank an die netten Vermieter ... ich kann dieses HĂ€uschen nur weiterempfehlen. Es ist alles problemlos und reibungslos gelaufen. Schade nur, dass wir kein Griechisch konnten, gern hĂ€tten wir uns mehr unterhalten. DANKE FÜR DIE SCHÖNEN 2 WOCHEN !!

Peaceful and private cottage in the centre of Skopelos island

This is a lovely property, obviously cared for by a family over the years, not just filled with Ikea furniture for the tourist market. The basement "suite" was great for our two teenage daughters to have their own space. The pool was lovely and as the photos show, there is lots of outdoor space and places to sit. Hardly any passing cars and we could hear the goat bells from the garden. It is 20 minutes or so drive to Skopelos town, but we prefered to head west and visit the beaches on the western side, plus the town of Glossa which was a gem. Only criticism of the property was that more crockery and cutlery are needed.

A beautiful hidden gem!

We had a lovely time at Dimitris' villa and were given a very warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Dimitris was an excellent host, extremely helpful from the moment we booked- he always got back to us straight away. The villa is very peaceful and beautiful. The car was essential as it is in a very rural spot. Being in the middle of the island nowhere is really far. The only issue we had was with bugs unfortunately- lots of wasps due to a nest we discovered on our last day, and also bugs found in one of the beds in the downstairs bedrooms. However, we thoroughly enjoyed being in this beautiful place and would recommend it very much. Thank you, Dimitris, for making us so welcome!

Simply fabulous!

We have just had the most wonderful 2 weeks in the Blue Cottage. It is perfect for a family with older children who can sleep independently as the two twin rooms are below the main house by external stairs. The cottage is on a very quiet road with lots of outdoor space. The only noises are from the cicadas. Fruit can be picked from the trees or vine. The outdoor kitchen is perfect for al fresco living. We had lots of fun in the pool. Star gazing at night with lots of meteors whilst we were there. Exploring the island requires a car which was sorted out by Dimitris. Lots of great beaches, and restaurants to while away the hours! This was an amazing holiday made all the more special by our stay in Blue Cottage. We are definitely planning to return.

Heaven on Earth

This must be one of the most lovingly kept villas on all of Skopelos. Inside is basic but fulfilled all our needs (and the hard mattresses other guests complain about must have been changed - if anything I thought they could have been harder) and outside, where after all most guests probably spend most of their time, is a dream - Dozens of flowerpots with thriving flowers and herbs, Enough pretty places to sit that you can follow the sun or shade all day and everything kept immaculate by Dimitris' parents, who could not, with Dimitris, be better hosts. Location is perfect for reaching all towns and beaches and hiking destinations, and on a side road that, at least in October, no more than 10 cars pass a day, if that. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - we certainly hope to visit again!

Nous avons passé 15 jours dans cette location ,qui est isolée dans les montagnes au milieu de l ile ,l endroit est trÚs joli et trÚs propre , une voiture est indispensable .Il faut cependant savoir que la piscine n est pas chauffée, qu il n y a pas de Wifi et que les téléphones ne fonctionnent pas ,pas de réseau.

We had a wonderful time in the Blue Cottage. Surrounded by nature, it is a perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Scopelos away from the crowd. Our children loved the pool! Great Getaway

Cottage is as described online. It is a remote location so transportation is a must. We rented 4 wheelers and had a blast. About 8km from Skopelos town, its an easy drive in for dinner or shopping. The downstairs apartment has two BRs , a bath and kitchenette Upstairs is a BR, bath, full kitchen and living room. We lived primarily outside since was so well appointed Dimitris and his parents are wonderful hosts and took care of a small problem we had very quickly. Highly recommended.

Lantlig idyll i lugn miljö

Huset Àr charmigt, har 3 bra sovrum och ett kök som gÄr utmÀrkt att anvÀnda. Det som verkligen stÄr ut Àr ytorna utomhus med utmÀrkta möjligheter till att antingen sitta i solen eller njuta av miljön i skydd frÄn solen. Poolen Àr vÀldigt fin och var en sjÀlvklar samlingsplats för oss efter vi varit pÄ stranden. Allting Àr mycket vÀlskött och man kommer och stÀdar vart 3-4:e dag. Vi Àr mycket nöjda med vÄr tid, jag har varit dÀr med min tonÄrsdotter i 2 veckor och vi fick lugnet vi var ute efter. Kan absolut rekommenderas men man skall ha med i berÀkningen att bil krÀvs.

Lovely and so peaceful

Great location for exploring the beautiful Island. Cottage was very clean and it was a lovely surprise to receive home cooked food and some home made wine from Dimitris's mother. The only downside was the double bed was really uncomfortable. Was a truly lovely holiday, just wish it was longer.

Peaceful and relaxing.

A real escape from everything if required. It has all one needs to remain in Blue Cottage for days without venturing out if you wish. Terraces, barbeque and pool made it self sufficient for us, venturing to supermarket every few days. Best beach in Limnonari, 15 minutes away where Apenema restaurant offers great food and service with a smile. The only comment we would make is the mattress in main bedroom we found to be a little hard. Otherwise the owners were kind and considerate, visiting every 3 days to clean and change linens. A wonderful cottage which holds sweet memeories.

Quiet property in a stunning location

We had a very peaceful stay at the Blue Cottage, located in a very quiet part of the island only 15 minutes from Skopelos Town, with a stunning view of the interior of Skopelos but possible to see the sea. The cottage has all the facilities required, a great pool, a bbq, lots of areas outside to sit and relax. No wifi and limited mobile coverage but that was great as it meant we could get away from our electronic gadgets! Can't recommend it enough.

If you want peace and quiet, then it's perfect

The garden and the pool are lovely, it's like being in your own Mamma Mia movie. You have two hammocks and so many nice places to sit and eat or read or just relax. Unfortunately the pool was not really warm (the nights were not warm either, which was good and bad at the same time) and there were lots of bees in the garden because of all those lovely fruit trees. The Kids were quite frightened at the beginning and unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it. It's quiet, no neighbours, you can sit outside and listen to loud music or let the Kids play in the pool forever. Nobody cares up there :) What was not perfect for us: we have two Kids age 9 and 5, but the major bedroom was in the upper house. There are 2 houses, built next to each other. In the upper house you have the major bedroom, kitchen, bathroom & livingroom. In the second house you have 2 sleepingrooms with 2 single beds in each room and 1 bathroom. There is NO door to the Kids room from upstairs which meant, either we let our two girls sleep downstairs alone and if the wake up at night they have to walk through the dark garden alone to find us in the other house or, and that's what we did, you don't use the major bedroom at all and move into the other bed room downstairs. It was ok, but very small and the second bedroom doesn't even have a window, the nicest room is the major bed room in the upper house and we couldn't stay there because our Kids are far too young to sleep in their own house on their own... I would have preferred to know this before we get there. So the two houses are perfect for Teenagers and their parents, but not for such Young Kids as ours. Also, you definately need a car, theres is nothing rechable by foot. But we knew that. Dimitris helped us to get a rental car and even picked it up for us. Thank you! :) There is no WLAN in the house or anywhere close to the house, there is actually hardly any mobile connection possible. But that was fine for us, so we couln't work or do something on the computer. :) Dimitris and his parents were very nice and they cleaned the two houses and the pool/garden every 3 days. They also brought us traditional dishes, which we really enjoyed. It was a very nice stay at Skopelos and we were able to relax a lot :)

Perfect Greek cottage

What a wonderful place to stay. So peaceful often the only sounds were the tinkling of the goat bells on the hills and the crickets. Even though the photographs are beautiful the reality is even better. Picking figs, grapes, apples and plums from the terraced gardens was an unexpected treat. The outdoor spaces are extensive and beautifully planted and arranged. indoors is very well equipped and comfortable housed 5 of us. Dimitris and his family could not have been more helpful keeping the cottage spotless with regular visits and bringing us wonderful homemade treats each time. I have travelled extensively and never usually bother with reviews but this stay was so exceptional I had to write a review. Wish we were back there!

Sweet, secluded, homey...a little gem!

The Blue Cottage is as advertised...in the green, quiet countryside of Skopelos. The house itself is well-cared for with fantastic outdoor space to gather, eat, swing in the hammocks, etc. We had 6 family members staying in it, and it was perfect. The house has everything needed, and it was a pleasure to explore the walking paths around it. While private, it is only 20 minutes drive from town, beaches, etc. Dimitri and his family were great. They even provided us with a delicious birthday cake!

Erholung pur

Wir haben 2 herrliche Wochen in der Blue Cottage verbracht. Ein ganz wundervoller Ort, wenn man sich nach Stille und Ruhe sehnt. Schon bei der Anfahrt zum Haus ĂŒber das ginsterbewachsene StrĂ€ĂŸchen hatten wir das GefĂŒhl, dass wir uns den richtigen Ort ausgesucht haben. Morgens hörten wir nur das Zwitschern der Vögel und das Summen der Bienen. In den NĂ€chten beglĂŒckte uns die Nachtigall mit ihrem Gesang, wĂ€hrend die FledermĂ€use im Tiefflug ĂŒber den Pool segelten. Das AußengelĂ€nde mit Pool, Garten, Grill, Liegen und HĂ€ngematten ĂŒbertraf unsere Erwartungen sogar noch. Im Haus ist alles sauber, ordentlich und zweckmĂ€ĂŸig eingerichtet. Mit den Eltern von Dimitris hatten wir trotz Sprachbarrieren ein sehr herzliches VerhĂ€ltnis. Sie kĂŒmmerten sich ganz liebevoll um uns und luden uns sogar ein, alles was im Garten reifte -z. Bsp. Kirschen- zu ernten. Was man in jedem Fall braucht ist ein Mietwagen, um an die StrĂ€nde, Tavernen oder zum Einkaufen zu fahren. Unsere LieblingsstrĂ€nde waren ĂŒbrigens Limnonari, Agnondas und Milia. Auch die dazugehörigen Tavernen waren ganz nach unserem Geschmack. Wir können das Anwesen und diese wunderschöne grĂŒne Insel in jedem Fall weiterempfehlen. 5 Sterne.

charming, beautiful retreat to enjoy

cosy cottage with all its different places around the house to relax under the fig treat ,in the hammock, beside the pool, at the fire place....warm welcome with cheese pie and lots of ideas and tips from Dimitri where we should go to..., Skopelos is a beautiful, green island , certainly a place we would like to be again.
