Das beliebte und gut ausgestattete Lalamilo Beach House befindet sich in idealer Lage am nördlichen Ende der Waialea Bay (Strand 69), die für ihren wunderschönen weißen Sandstrand und das türkisblaue Wasser bekannt ist.

Drei Schlafzimmer im Haupthaus haben jeweils ein eigenes Bad und Sie können das Meer und den Strand direkt vor sich sehen. Es ist der idealste Ort!

Das Haupthaus im Plantagenstil wurde für Strandgänger aller Altersgruppen konzipiert. Es verfügt über einen großen Raum, eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit einer großen Mittelinsel und Sitzgelegenheiten an der Theke, einen Esstisch mit Platz für bis zu 10 Personen, einen Karten- / Spieltisch und einen großen Punee zum Entspannen im traditionellen hawaiianischen Stil. Es gibt auch eine großzügige Sonnenterrasse mit einem Essbereich im Freien und ausreichend Sitzgelegenheiten für Sonnenanbeter und Sterngucker. Die lange, schattige Veranda führt zu den Suiten des Hauses mit drei Schlafzimmern, von denen jede einen atemberaubenden Blick auf Mauka und Makai sowie die Geräusche des Meeres bietet.

Das separate Gästehaus im zweiten Stock mit 1 Schlafzimmer und 1 Bad bietet eine eigene Veranda, ein Wohnzimmer und eine Mastersuite sowie einen Blick auf die weltberühmten Vulkane Mauna Kea und Mauna Loa. Das Ohana Guest House bietet bequem Platz für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder.

Hinweis: Alle Innenräume sind vollständig abgeschirmt und schützen Sie und Ihre Kleinen vor tropischen Insekten.

Fast einen halben Morgen schöne, reife, tropische Landschaft. Die Plumerias sind so zahlreich, dass die Gäste täglich ihre eigenen Leis aneinander reihen können. Die große, grüne Wiese führt direkt zum Strand und ist der perfekte Ort, um Badminton oder Volleyball zu spielen, Strandspielzeug zu lagern oder eine kleine Versammlung abzuhalten. Es gibt auch eine Außendusche mit heißem Wasser, die es wirklich angenehm macht, nach einem langen Schwimmen oder Schnorcheln zu kommen.

Think Hemingway, add in a gorgeous beach with incredible sunsets. Its here, accommodations are equal to its surroundings, matured and dated with Hawaiian history. Open aired with all the modern conveniences needed to enjoy this unique place.

Incredible location and property

This house was amazing for our family of eight and grandma and grandpa! The location is incredible and we will stay here again some year!!!!! The whole setting is a 10, but does have a few minor things to be aware of. The beach access is also part of a state park and can get really crowded, because it is an awesome location for snorkeling, SUP (use the owner’s referral to Evan for SUP & kayak rentals: HE WAS AWESOME to rent from) and hanging out. The house is well kept, but has it’s little things like the screen doors needed constant attention or our poor attention to detail that if you leave the property after 8pm to 7am, you have to use the secondary gated exit (we almost missed our fishing boat. Again, our mistake and the house contact was great to deal with) Other awesome bonus stuff was the storage room full of beach chairs, masks/snorkels/fins and a few fishing poles. Simply put, this house and location is second best place I have stayed in my life, after a safari tent resort in Africa! Mahalo!

Want to live here

Our extended family loved this property. Everything about it was perfect for us. Grandparents, two daughters and son in laws, five grandchildren. Each family had a place for themselves, plenty of bathrooms, great beach access, abundance of beach toys and chairs. Kitchen was perfect for all our cooking needs, thanksgiving dinner, birthday cake. I may delete this and write a mediocre review so we can have a good chance of getting this house again. Only drawback was stickers on the path to the beach from the trees. Truly our little piece of paradise.

50th wedding anniversary and reunion

The house is well equipped with great access to a beautiful beach. The house also has nice plantings and good privacy. If I stay there again I shall deal directly with Lelani the realtor not though Vrbo. The beach itself is sandy and picturesque but is often crowded during the day. In the early morning and evening it is quiet. Morning and evening are the best times for snorkeling.

We brought our entire family to the Great Island, including 3 under the age of 3! This property is like staying at your own boutique hotel. The kitchen is definitely the most well stocked of any property we have rented in the past. The bath towels and beach towels are plush and plentiful. We all so enjoyed walking across our yard right to the beach and into the ocean. We liked this property so much that we already checked the calendar for this week next week and alas...it is already booked.

Want to stay forever

I'm always hesitant to let people know about Waialea Bay, but anyhow... Lalamilo is a wonderful house. Besides its amazing location, it has tons of style and is incredibly comfortable. We loved it and only wish we could have stayed longer. That, and it would have been pretty cool to be like the photos in the home that show folks arriving by sampan in the 1940s. Must have been heaven. It still is.

Great House and Location!

The accommodations and location were excellent! We had quick access to the beach and plenty of space inside and outside of the house to rest, relax and spend time together. The three bedrooms in the house, as well as the cottage, provided comfortable and private space for each of the four couples during our one-week stay. Leilani’s response to our few questions was timely. You can’t beat this great house and location!

It was all it was cracked up to be!

This is a pretty special property. Enough space for a large group to sleep and convene, and many conversation zones. The beach access is incredible. To hop out of bed and walk a few steps out of the gate into the water is truly priceless.

Rustic relaxation

Just can't beat the location on the whole island and that's what you are paying for. It's not the 4 seasons, so don't expect that. Expect peace, tranquility, all the necessities, but no A/C. There was a TV (it was covered) and I didn't even notice it until we were leaving and I'm glad the kids didn't either. The trees on the beach negate the need for an umbrella. Snorkeling in the area is very good, not as good as 2step though , but the fish here including parrots and triggers of all sorts are huge. I'm not sure why they are so big here, but it's certainly cool. Leilani, the property manager and all the cleaning staff were so nice. If you want luxury, this is not your place. If you want to escape and enjoy nature and can handle no A/C this place is heaven on earth. We spent 3 days at Disney Auluni and although the kids loved it, I call it disney hell. What a change of pace to come to this great house where it never got loud other than some occasional wind and the waves. I really want to come back.

Fabulous house on the beach

Lalamilo is everything you would want for your stay on the big island! I would say the best thing about the house is that it is right on the water. Coffee on the beach in the morning, the kids snorkeled and swam in the waves, evenings on the beach watching the sunset, and listening to the waves at night was heaven. The house itself has fabulous amenities. The kitchen and living space is wonderful, large deck with umbrellas and grill, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large yard to play games. It felt very much like home. The location is also great - not only close to the airport but also close to the two most beautiful beaches on the island (Hapuna and Mauna Kea). We walked on the trail to Hapuna every morning. Also a short drive to popular restaurants, shopping, and grocery shopping. I highly recommend Lalamilo!!

Rustic, but Beach in the Back Yard is wonderful

Just finished a week at the Lalamilo Beach House with extended family. The kitchen/dining/great room is spacious and well stocked. The bedrooms are comfortable, though two showers were not clean and we cleaned them again. All the rooms have ceiling fans and screened windows, good for air circulation, but didn't keep wasps or roaches out! It was also very warm during our vacation time and most nights sleeping was a problem because of the heat. The guest house which can sleep 3 people, has another kitchen and large bath is VERY warm. Here the wasps were worse, though we did call management and they sprayed and cut down palm fronds where the critters were living. (Maybe this could have been done before guests arrived.) There is no functioning TV in the Guest House, though it's ready for DVD's but bring your own as none are available on the property. Also because of poor signage at midnight our son was awakened with a lost tourist shining a flashlight in his face. Guest safety should be improved!!! All this said, the beach is beautiful , very swim friendly and there is some snorkeling. The sunsets are remarkable and there are chairs and snorkel gear for all to use.

Aloha folks! We were very disappointed to receive this 3 star review. As you can see from all the other reviews, we are a 5 star vacation home and we work hard to ensure that all of our guests are very well taken care of. We do everything possible to ensure that your stay is truly enjoyable. I have managed this home for 15 years and have very rarely encountered guests that did not have the most wonderful time here. This review came from people who won the bid for a one week stay at an auction 2 years ago. After trying to extend the voucher even further into the future and asking if they could sell it to someone else, they finally made it out here. Unfortunately, it seemed they just weren't happy to be here to begin with. Never has anyone had an issue with there being no cable or dvds on hand in the cottage (most people watch the TV in the main house), but I went out of my way to provide them with a Roku device so they could watch shows in the cottage. Not even a simple "thank you" for going our of my way to service their needs was received. And the poor guests who were checking into the house next door, late at night after a delayed flight came into their cottage by mistake. As alarming as it must've been for them, it was a simple mistake and in no way a matter of someones "safety". My apology for this just wasn't enough. We get a poor review from folks who didn't even pay the full cost of the cleaning fee. So not only did we donate a one week stay for free, we came out of pocket for the cleaning costs and got a poor review :(. But most unfortunate is that they didn't have a a very good time. It is my pleasure to service our guests here in paradise, because I love being able to share this beautiful place and assist them with their dream Hawaii vacation.

Island Home

For the second time my family and I have stayed at Lalamilo and once again it became our home. The warmth and beauty of the islands surrounds you and the layout of the home enable all of us to stay in the same place comfortably. The great room and kitchen allows us to cook and eat together and the yard which extends out to join the beach allowed the children to be back and forth easily to the beach. We will definitely return!

Best Week Ever & The Perfect Wedding Venue

My family stayed at the Lalamillo house over Thanksgiving weekend 2015 where 44 of our closest friends and family celebrated our exchange of vows. The house was perfect for both the family who was lucky enough to call it home for the week (5 adults & 4 little ones) and the wedding. We loved waking up in the morning, enjoying coffee on the beach, a morning snorkel or stand up paddle, sight seeing during the day, and then coming back for more beach time. Sunsets are magical here! The beach, just steps away, has so much to offer including great snorkeling, shade, some gentle waves, a nearby walking path! The house is luxurious and has awesome amenities! And you really can hear the waves crashing from all the rooms in the house. The space is functional, comfortable, and authentic. I can't recommend this place enough. Don't hesitate! The photos don't do it justice!

This review is much delayed, since we stayed at Lalamilo in January -- but not because we didn't have a fantastic time! We had 11 people from 3 generations -- ages ranging from 9 to 70-something. Never having been to the island before, we had no idea that we would be on one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast. We were there for a week and never ate a breakfast or dinner out -- grilling on the lanai every evening, supplementing with extras prepared in the well-equipped kitchen. Sunsets on the beach were wonderful. Leilani was always available for whatever questions we had. Would love to go back.

This vacation home was built in 1993 by five siblings on land that was acquired by their grandparents back in the 1930's. The house sits on one of the few natural sand beaches on the Big Island and is one of the best swimming and snorkeling in the world! It is conveniently located for visiting all the resort hotels and restaurants on the Kohala Coast. The Mauna Kea, the Fairmont Orchid, the Mauna Lani and Hilton Hotels are just minutes away with their beaches, first class restaurants, shops and world class golf courses. Kohala Divers is nearby at Kawaihae Center, and offers various ocean activities including scuba diving and sunset/afternoon sails. Kawaihae Center and Harbor are just 10 minutes by car, with several great restaurants and shops. You are close to almost any activity you may choose, with the exception of the volcano which is a 3 hour drive from Kohala.

The house is extremely well located and well equipped. All bedrooms offer their own ocean and mauka views, private baths and are accessed from a private lanai overlooking a large grass lawn that leads to the beach. The sun shines 355 days per year and the average temperature highs are in the 80's with low's in the 60's. The ocean's edge is about 150 feet from your doorstep with crystal blue water that is 72-76 degrees year round. Waialea Bay offers ideal fishing, snorkeling, diving, surfing and kayaking. Walking and biking is a favorite, too! Sea turtles, dolphins and whales are some of the sea life you may see. This property offers beach style living and a real sense of getting away from it all. The turquoise waters are extremely clear, so divers and snorkelers can enjoy waters abundant in sea life. The Waialea Bay Marine Preserve is a protected environment for endangered sea life. Green sea turtles are a protected species and should not be bothered, only enjoyed and admired. Watch the humpback whales play along the coast during the winter. It is quite a sight!
