"Y Cartws" ist ein renoviertes Nebengebäude (ehemals Wagenhaus und Stall) auf einer Schäferei - Maesyfelin. Die Besitzer, Paul und Eirlys Williams und ihre Familie sind die 7. Generation der Familie, die hier gewirtschaftet hat. Y-Cartws ist der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Küste und die Landschaft des wunderschönen West Wales zu erkunden. Wir sind sowohl familien- als auch haustierfreundlich. Es ist eine sehr ruhige Lage mit herrlichem Blick über Hektar üppiges grünes Gras. Unsere Besucher sind herzlich eingeladen, einen Spaziergang in unser Waldgebiet zu machen, wo es einen Bach gibt und viel Platz für ein Picknick. Y Cartws ist auch ein großartiger Ort, um die Sterne zu beobachten, mit einem wunderbaren dunklen Himmel bei Nacht, wenn es das Wetter erlaubt. Gerne lassen wir Sie Ihre Drohne von unseren Feldern fliegen. In den Monaten März und April haben wir viel zu tun. Unsere Besucher können gerne einen Blick auf die Geschehnisse werfen oder uns bei der Fütterung von Molly-Lämmern helfen, wenn wir welche haben! Das Haus selbst verfügt über eine große Bauernküche, eine Waschküche und ein Wohnzimmer im Erdgeschoss. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich 2 Schlafzimmer (1 Doppelzimmer und 1 Zweibettzimmer mit der Option eines Kinderbetts und eines aufgestellten Einzelbettes) und ein Badezimmer. Es hat Ölzentralheizung im gesamten Gebäude. WI -FI ist über das bei der Ankunft angegebene Cottage-Passwort erreichbar, wir sind auf EE-Handys und haben ein Signal auf dem Bauernhof. Für unsere kleinen Gäste stellen wir auch ein Treppenschutzgitter, ein Kinderbett und einen Hochstuhl zur Verfügung. Kinder können gerne auf den Feldern spielen. Es stehen ausreichend Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Links neben dem Cottage befindet sich eine Rasenfläche sowie eine Bank und ein Tisch direkt vor dem Cottage. Handtücher sind ebenfalls vorhanden.

Really wonderful stay in a very comfortable home on a welcoming sheep farm in the west Wales countryside. Its deep in the country but its an easy drive to the Pembrokeshire beaches to the north, south and west. Its a stunning part of the world. We particularly liked Mwnt, St Davids Head and Marloes Sands. After a long day on the beach, it was always a pleasure to return to the farm.

Wonderful home away from home

Renting was a breeze. The property was delightful, with all the mod cons tucked into a warm and cozy home. The location was rural but an easy drive to activities. We loved the beautiful sites of the farm right outside the windows and their adorable dogs ready to greet us whenever we left. We would definitely rent this lovely property again!

Comfort, quiet and beauty.

Y-Cartwys is in a beautiful location, and is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and even though the weather was a bit changeable we had a wonderful week exploring the coasts of both Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as the cottage is so well placed. You could also easily access Carmarthenshire and other parts of Wales. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Scenery

We had a great stay at this fully equipped cottage. We had a lovely welcome by Eirlys and Paul, who were on site and around when needed, but never imposed. The beds and chairs were super comfortable and the dogs were cute and friendly. The area has great pubs,beaches and coastal walks all within a short drive. Would recommend to a friend. We are looking forward to booking next year. 😎🐶

A break away from the mayhem

This property is exceptionally well set up with everything you need for an enjoyable and peaceful setting. It is spacious and easily would accommodation a family of four. The location is so quite but you have beaches to die for within easy driving distance. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us some very useful tips. It was just what we needed after months of lockdown and uncertainty.

A beautiful place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.

Thank you so much Eirlys and Paul. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break to the farm. With plenty of beautiful walks and beaches a short drive away; It felt like the much needed tonic, after a long winter. The children absolutely loved being on the farm. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable, with ample space for a family of four. The kitchen is well equipped and the personal touches were much appreciated.

Eine rundum schöne Unterkunft

Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet, bietet großzügig Platz auch für uns fünf. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Eirlys und Paul empfangen und auch während unseres Aufenthalts kümmerten sie sich jederzeit darum, dass wir alles hatten, was wir brauchten. A must stay.

If you want to experience rural Wales this place is amazing. A beautiful converted barn for you to stay in on a sheep farm with 3 working dogs who are so friendly and want tummy rubs. The hosts were helpful and delightful and it was a great base to explore what Wales has to offer and we were here for 10 days and only touched the tip of the iceberg. Stay here,switched your phone off and enjoy the scenery.

Exceptional cottage

Exceptional cottage, spacious and very clean in a wonderful relaxing setting. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need and easily enough room for a family of 4. Very well situated to explore the sites of South West Wales with lots of stunning places for walking in the countryside and hills. Wonderful cottage

We had a lovely time staying at the cottage and it makes a good base for lots of things to do in the area with the kids. The cottage was very clean and cosy and Eirlys and Paul were very welcoming along with Bella, Ben and Mai the four legged friends. If you want to get away to somewhere quiet and completely dark at night this is the place. We had a lovely stay thank you and we will be returning at some point.

A perfect peaceful retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location with a beautiful surroundings. Well located, everything seemed just half an hour away. Stunning night sky, never seen anything like it. The cottage itself was perfect, cosy, well equipped and felt like home. Eirlys and Paul were there if you needed them otherwise you just carry on as usual, a friendly welcome or bara brith and fresh eggs. Our children made new friends in Mai, Ben and Bella the farm dogs, for children that aren’t too keen or used to dogs they absolutely loved these friendly pups. The surrounding town of Cardigan is amazing, the beaches of Mwnt and Poppit Sands are great beaches. Plenty of culture, history and wildlife nearby and amazing views just on the drive in to Cardigan. We all loved this place and would happily book again tomorrow. Thanks Simon, Aurore, Elora, Eliot and Aiden.

Stunning venue

Beautiful converted stone cottage with a large dining kitchen directly on the farm courtyard. The garden is not attached to the cottage but is a few metres away) which meant we had to accompany our dogs in the rain!) Very clean, comfortable with extremely hospitable hosts.

Relaxing getaway in fabulous family accommodation

Eirlys, Paul and their two sons were very kind and friendly hosts. Whilst we had some trouble finding the accommodation, Eirlys came to the rescue and there was no looking back. The barn, which has been converted into accommodation, is spacious and very well appointed. Apart from food and personal affects, everything that we needed was supplied. We particularly enjoyed the farm fresh eggs, milk and cake that was waiting for us when we arrived. The farm, Y-Cartws, is in a central location in the south. It was easy to visit the highlights of the Pembrokshire region. Eirlys gave us some good recommendations and a walking guide book that helped us to decide on our daily adventures. Another highlight was a little tour of the farm that enabled my nearly one year old son to see sheep and chickens for the first time. For those wishing to stay here, the easiest way to find it is to type "Y Cartws holiday cottage" into Google Maps, and it will direct you to the exact location. Hello, my name is Eirlys Williams, and together with my husband Paul, we warmly welcome you to Maesyfelin.

Paul’s family have lived and farmed here for generations—we are proud to be the seventh generation on this land. Around 20 years ago, we carefully converted Y Cartws from its original use as a stable and cart house into the cosy holiday cottage it is today, and for the past 19 years we’ve enjoyed welcoming guests from near and far.

I look after all aspects of the cottage to make sure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible, from keeping everything spotless to adding thoughtful touches along the way. As fluent Welsh speakers and lifelong locals, we’re always happy to share our knowledge of the area—whether you’re looking for peaceful walks, hidden gems, or family-friendly days out (and we can even teach you a few Welsh words too!).

We love welcoming couples and families who are looking to slow down, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and explore this beautiful part of West Wales.

The cottage is set on our working sheep and beef farm in the heart of the countryside, just a stone’s throw from the Preseli Hills and the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline—perfect for walking, exploring, and unwinding.

We’re always nearby and happy to help with anything you need, while still giving you the space to relax and enjoy your holiday at your own pace.

We feel incredibly lucky to live in this special part of West Wales, and it’s something we never take for granted. The area offers a true sense of peace and space, where life moves at a slower, more relaxed pace.

What we love most is the balance between tranquillity and adventure. From the cottage, you can enjoy the quiet of the countryside—waking up to birdsong, open views, and the rhythm of farm life—yet within a short distance you have access to the beautiful Preseli Hills and the breathtaking Pembrokeshire coastline.

There’s so much to explore, whether it’s scenic walks, hidden coves, sandy beaches, or charming local villages. It’s perfect for couples looking to unwind and reconnect, as well as families wanting to spend quality time together outdoors.

Set in a truly peaceful rural location, Y Cartws is surrounded by the sights and sounds of the countryside. Ideally located near the borders of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Carmarthenshire, Y Cartws offers easy access to some of West Wales’ most beautiful beaches and coastal scenery — all within a short drive, whichever direction you choose to explore.

For everyday essentials, a local shop and garage are just a mile away. The popular market town of Narberth is nearby, known for its independent boutiques, welcoming cafés, and excellent places to eat.

A little further north lies Cardigan, a vibrant market town rich in history and culture. Set along the River Teifi, Cardigan offers a mix of heritage and modern charm, from exploring Cardigan Castle to enjoying riverside walks or even taking a boat trip out towards the estuary.
