Das Westburn Cottage ist ein Cottage mit einer Endterrasse in einem ruhigen Weiler namens Newbiggin in Bishopdale. Das Cottage war ursprünglich eine Scheune aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und wurde in ein gemütliches Anwesen mit allen modernen Annehmlichkeiten umgewandelt. Und da es unser zweites Zuhause ist, ist es auch zu einem sehr hohen Standard gemacht worden. Es gibt Off-Road-Parkplätze vor der Unterkunft. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich ein Kiesbereich mit Tischen und Stühlen.

The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable. The owner, Phil, was very helpful in advance of our stay. The area is peaceful but well placed for a range of activities. We had a lovely stay. The description of the property should probably stress that there are both internal and external stairs.

Excellent property, in an excellent location. Quiet and peaceful area. Property is very clean and very well equipped with everything you could possibly want. Super comfortable bed! A beautiful cottage with lovely views over typical Dales countryside. It met our needs perfectly - close to many quaint villages, towns and hiking trails, and only a 5 minute walk to a charming local pub. The cottage is well-appointed and Phil was easy to contact and very responsive.

Westburn Cottage was a lovely converted barn, offering all the home comforts you could wish for, along with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.There are some beautiful walks right from the cottage, and it’s ideally located for exploring the area’s spectacular waterfalls, historic market towns and fascinating caves. Wherever we went, there was always a lovely coffee shop nearby to enjoy a well-deserved coffee and slice of cake!We had a lovely holiday, exploring the Yorkshire Dales and enjoyed lots of walking. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and some of our favourite places included Hardraw Force, Aysgarth Falls, Hawes and Malham Cove, just to name a few.A fantastic base for exploring this lovely part of Yorkshire.

This is a beautiful property exactly as advertised. Phil is an awesome host and an excellent communicator, who took a lot of effort to see that we had what we needed. He even helped us arrange for tickets to a local football match. There’s a custom map made for the Westburn Cottage of all the walking trails around the Dales. Go left or right out the front door and some of the most beautiful walks in the world are there for you. The Streethead Inn and Restaurant is a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed the 30 minute walk across the fields to The Fox and Hound in West Burton as our favorite way to work up and work off a great Pub experience. We truly enjoyed the week here and do hope to return .

Great location, great accommodation and great host! There are several pubs within easy reach and a great central location for exploring the dales. Accommodation is well appointed and the host Phil made sure everything was spot on.

Lovely,clean and cosy upstairs cottage/ barn conversion.Host very friendly, very informative with excellent communication. Everything we needed for a quiet few days away. Bed was so comfortable and huge! Lovely area to walk in and enjoy the nearby pubs/ villages!

Great property in a lovely location. Pub within easy walking distance provided tasty food. Plenty to see in the area and beyond. Loads of walking opportunities for all levels.

The absolute perfect accommodation!! Great location to drive to nearby attractions, and plenty to walk from the front door (we walked to Cauldron Falls in West Burton). Quintessential Yorkshire Dales views from every window. A rocking chair by the window to watch the Yorkshire Dales was so relaxing. Great communication with host, check in easy, parking at the front door. Had everything needed for a great stay and then some (just little details/things needed were available which are normally missed when staying in a self catering accommodation). Loved the cleanliness, loved the kitchen too. And the bed was SOOOOO SOOOO comfortable!! Lovely hot shower too. Probably not accessible for everyone though, as there were stairs. We would recommend, and we would stay here again. It was hard to leave!!!

We had a great stay in this lovely peaceful cottage. Great location for touring and walking. Cottage is clean and well equipped for eating in however local pub very close with good food and beer. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely Barn Conversion with access to the Dales

Beautifully converted Stone barn with roomy Living room, kitchen and bedroom is comfortable and full of character. The bed is especially comfortable. Ideally situated near Aysgarth to visit the falls and many hiking opportunties. We hope to return!

A comfortable clean property

The property was clean comfortable and well equipped. The stove was excellent and the bed very comfortable, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was excellent. The location was beautiful and we had a very relaxed time. We did a lot of walking in the lovely countryside

Despite this not being our primary residence, my partner & I love the Dales, and escape here as often as work allows. But as we can't be here all the time we don't see why others shouldn't enjoy the use of such a lovely property, in such a gorgeous setting. As it's our 2nd home, it's been furnished to a high standard with all mod-cons. We've been very lucky that everyone who's been to stay has loved it. So much so that we get people coming back year after year (one couple like it so much they've been 6 times and have already booked a break for next year). We aim to make your stay as enjoyable and as hassle-free as possible. And hope that at the end of your stay you'll feel like you don't want to leave.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

The barn itself is right at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so it's a perfect base to explore & visit the surrounding countryside. Anyone who's ever watched James Herriot's 'All Creatures Great & Small' will know that the local scenery is stunning. The walking is fantastic too, but if the weather's not great there are plenty of places to visit including castles, museums, steam railways etc. And if eating out is your thing there are plenty of pubs, tea-shops, restaurants & cafes - all of which serve food to a high standard. Most of all, the people are really friendly - despite the (undeserved) reputation of Yorkshire folk being monosyllabic!

We feel it's got everything you could ask for. Access from the front door to the Dales, but close enough to towns and villages when you need them. The barn has full electric central heating & a multi-fuel stove for when you want that warm, cosy log-fire atmosphere. One other selling point - unlike many other cottages we DON'T charge extra for coal/wood in Winter (in some cases up to £20 extra a week), so you won't have to worry about any extra hidden costs.
