School House is a traditional, detached, stone-built cottage located on Mill Lane, a quiet cul-de-sac, which leaves the west side of the village, facing down towards the picturesque beauty spot of Mill Gill.
A pretty cottage, tastefully modernised with multi-fuel stove in the lounge for cosy evenings. A small entrance hallway leads to the lounge, kitchen and a stone flagged staircase. Through the kitchen is an under stair utility store which in turn leads to the rear of the cottage.
A stone-flagged patio garden gives ample space for outdoor eating and relaxation. Off the patio is a fuel store plus separate bicycle store and the side entrance to Mill Lane.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two singles. Each have built in wardrobes. The bathroom has a combined shower-bath suite with toilet and washbasin.
School House offers high quality accommodation in a tranquil setting with nearby pubs, restaurants, deli, convenience store and church in this popular and historic village.

Lovely
Lovely cosy, clean cottage, in a great location.
Stayed over Christmas and enjoyed walks every day and carols round the tree in the square, on Christmas Eve. There are 3 good pubs and a nice cafe, a few minutes walk away. The little goodies of cake, cheese etc.. left for us when we arrived, were much appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely stay as always

Lovely welcoming cottage
7th stay at school house, lovely cottage very comfortable. Everything you need is there.
Ample space for parking, enjoyed watching the visiting birds on the feeder. lovely village with friendly locals. Visited local christmas craft fairs big and small and was made welcome at them all. We will return for our 8th visit I'm sure of it.
Lovely welcoming treat of yorkshire cake and cheese. Nice touch .
Only thing I would maybe change is a bigger mat
at front door / bottom of the stairs.

Lovely cottage

Nice to be back
Great little house in a quiet side street in Askrigg, walking distance to ‘The Drovers’ and hiking trails galore. This is our second visit - we’ll be back again!

Fabulous location
Great location in Askrigg with parking outside the front door. Well equipped cottage and well presented. Great to have the wood burner in the chilly weather!

Great holiday cottage in stunning Yorkshire
School House is a fantastic cottage in an excellent location, great walks from the door and lovely village. Well equipped and had all basic essentials needed. Would definitely return in future.

An excellent retreat in the heart of the Dales.
The school house sits in the heart of Askrig, a very short walk to the village shop and pubs. The beds are very comfortable and the whole cottage warm and cosy. There’s everything you need for a trip to the Dales. I have stayed here before and will return again.

Our second visit to this homely house. Location to amenities is very good. Access to walking paths is excellent. Easy parking next to house.

Very lazy relaxing week in the schoolhouse. It has all that we require in our favourite Yorkshire village.

Enjoyed out stay.
Enjoyed our stay and know the village well. Autumn coming so fire was good. Usual good eating places and walks with car visits further afield. Avioded the White Rose once again as usual but all others fine.l as usual. Good stay

An enjoyable stay at School House, Askrigg
Well described accommodation, everything mentioned was available. Ideal location and a parking space provided. Only downside was that there wasn't a dishwasher - but my husband coped !!!!!!

Short Autumn Break.
An ideal cottage for a break in the lovely village of Askrigg. We have stayed here before, some years ago, but since then it is much improved. One to recommend and we look forward to a return visit. The Askrigg Brewery beer served in the King's Arms was the one that got our vote!

My sanctuary
Clean warm and homely. All you want from a holiday destination. Comfy beds. Freddie (dog) settles straight away in our home from home. Got 2 weeks booked later in year.

First class cottage
We spent a week at School House and have nothing but praise for the accommodation. It was spotlessly clean, warm, nicely furnished and well equipped. The location, too, is excellent with Askrigg being a super village in the heart of the Dales. It is not at all surprising that many of the comments in the guest book are by repeat visitors.

Home from home
Lovely cottage lovely area lots of walks from the door step. Feels like a home away from home. Nice that we can bring our dog he always likes it here infront of the burner. Cottage is clean and fresh you would never know dogs have been in here.
We always try to come every year.
