Die Steading at Back Borland Ferienhäuser. Diese wunderschön renovierten Scheunen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert befinden sich in der fantastischen Lage des Trossachs-Nationalparks und sind über einen unwegsamen Weg erreichbar. Sie befinden sich in ruhiger Lage und bieten einen atemberaubenden Blick über Ben Lomond und die Menteith Hills. Gartmore ist der perfekte Ort für alle, die Outdoor-Aktivitäten lieben. Hunderte Kilometer Waldwege sind leicht zugänglich. Zurück Borland hat zwei große Felder, die beide von einem Bach durchflossen werden, auf denen Gäste Kinder und / oder Hunde mitnehmen können. Das "endlose" Schwimmbecken bietet optimale Schwimmbedingungen für einen einzelnen Schwimmer und die Strömung kann auf einen bevorzugten Schwierigkeitsgrad eingestellt werden. Auch ohne die Strömung ist es immer noch ein schön großer Pool, in dem Kinder schwimmen und Spaß haben können.

Countryside Holiday

This was a wonderful place to stay. I loved the surrounding countryside and it has great proximity to several beautiful lochs. Our hosts were fantastic and made the check in / check out process so easy and simple. 10/10 would definitely recommend staying here

Excellent Location For Adventurea

Property is very well kept and comfortable. Met Rosie and Dave as soon as we arrived and they gave us a quick tour of the property. The road leading in is a farm track but is very clearly identified and Rosie made sure to provide excellent instructions, as long as you stick to one side or the other it is easy to avoid bottoming the vehicle. The hot tub and pool are shared but this was excellently communicated as well and a schedule shows exactly when your cottage can access it. The pool and hot tub chemistry seems well maintained to ensure proper sanitization. Rosie and Dave were great hosts and I would happily visit again.

Very nice holiday week in Gartmore

Such a lovely cottage with great view! Property managers were really nice and easy to talk to, and left an easy to read booklet on the facilities in and around the cottage. Would love to stay again :)

Beautiful stay in a magical place!!

We stayed for 3 nights over xmas in this lovely cottage. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The wood fire in the winter was toasty warm and atmospheric, and it was an added experience to indulge in the hot tub! The hosts were so accommodating and friendly and we feel so lucky to have experienced this beautiful corner of scotland!

Perfect lovely home

Nice house which is the perfect base to our Scottish adventure. Rosie and Dave are supernice and helpful. The jacuzzi is very welcome after a trip through nature. We loved our stay. If you use Google maps just navigate to Back Borland Holiday Cottages and it will bring you to the front door.

The property is excellent and welcoming. Everything you could wish for in a holiday break.

We were delighted with 'The Steading' very warm and cosy and loved the wood burning stove. The facilities were excellent, loved the pool and the hot tub. Couldn't fault it at all. Would definitely come again and have already recommended it to a friend. Rosie and Dave were very friendly and welcoming.

Short winter break

Ideal location for a peaceful break. View of Ben Ledi from Hot tube was lovely. Perpetual pool was good exercise (if you want it). Host Rosie and Dave were really lovely hosts. Several walks from Gartmore, with the local pub food at the end.

Great secluded getaway with pool & jacuzzi...

Lovely hosts who were so helpful. Location is ideal for exploring the Trossachs that were showing fabulous autumn colours. Great cycling in the area, we really enjoyed the off road tracks and especially the area of Duke's Pass and Loch Katrine. Property is warm and the pool and jacuzzi are a real bonus after a day on the bike. Thank you for a really enjoyable time.

Splendid isolation close to home

Perfect! Wife and I wanted to get away from it all for a few days and that's exactly what we did. No need to travel to the extremes of the country, really not far away if you live in the Central Belt (of Scotland). Property in excellent order; very comfortable and exceptionally clean.

We loved the peace and quiet in the countryside. There was a lovely welcoming bottle of prosecco and flapjacks on arrival and our hosts were welcoming and accommodating. The property is lovely and cosy and warm. The pool and hot tub were great fun. We travelled to Loch Lomond for lunches and walking and discovered places we hadn't been to before. The road up is very rough with one bump just a little too high and caught caught the underside of the water tank on our van.

Fantastic Getaway

We enjoyed a fantastic 3 night break at The Steading Farm Cottage. It really is in the middle of nowhere so perfect for a romantic break or as a base for exploring The Trossachs. The cottage itself has everything you need including one of the comfiest couches we have had in a holiday home. The log burning stove and Jacuzzi bath were fantastic. There is very little light pollution in the area so watching the stars from the hot tub is a must. The prosecco and home baking on the table when we arrived were just the cherries on top of a very creamy cake.

Absolutely stunning stay!

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I had the most relaxing and wonderful week! Perfect surroundings and spending multiple evenings in the hot tub at sunset with the stunning scenery has certainly led to a hot tub now being required at home, though we'll just have to imagine the landscape I expect! We had everything we needed and the addition of the wood burning fire was just sublime. After being in the hot tub, quick shower then lighting a roaring fire to sit down and play games at the table whilst having wine and cheese was the perfect thing for a break from the city. The surrounding area has LOTS to offer with Glasgow and Stirling being pretty much equidistant from the cabin and the locals are so friendly. Rosie and Dave are both lovely people who will endeavour to ensure that all is as it should be and they even gave us a lift into Gartmore on the first evening after Rosie had made us some small pancakes. All-in-all it was perfect and it's safe to say that we will most definitely be back. P.S. my daughter is insistent that I mention about the chickens as she found them most charming!

An amazing week!

Back Borland is a wonderful base for exploring the area, we had wonderful weather for October/November, but would have been just as happy staying in and relaxing. Rosie was really friendly and explained everything we needed to know on arrival. During the week we were able to to visit: Loch Lomond, Luss, Balloch, Balmaha, Callander, Blackness Castle, Linlithgow Palace, The Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Doune Castle, Sea Life and would recommend all of them. If visiting Callander make sure to visit the near Ball falls. Food was lovely, Tullie Inn in Balloch served good food, Mhor chip shop in Callander was amazing, the afternoon tea at the Old Bank also in Callander was great value and very tasty and the St Mocha coffee house in Balmaha has great coffee and home made ice cream. The house itself had everything we needed and was perfect for the three of us, two adults and a 5 year old. The endless pool is great to relax in and stretch muscles after a day out. The hot tub has amazing views across the countryside. The area is a paradise for photography, whether it be landscape or wildlife. On 3 clear nights you could see and easily photograph the milky way. I'd recommend a holiday here for anyone... We can't wait to come back!

Lovely location and accommodation terrible access

Lovely serene location and steading accommodation was very nice. A few issues though: When we booked, listing did not clearly state access to pool and jacuzzi were communal. Looks like this has been resolved now though. Be aware you will have virtually no mobile coverage (O2, EE or Vodafone). Main issue is the access road. Other reviews were not understating how poor the access road is. Unless you have a 4x4, or a car with high ground clearance, you can expect to hear stones thumping your exhaust/suspension/underside (even if driving at walking pace). There are also several speed-bump like water diverts (which would be better as trenches)...road really needs improvement. It's a shame we won't rebook as the last half mile driving up that access road was actually quite stressful every time (even for a very experienced driver). It's really not what you want when you are trying to have a relaxing break. :(

Beautiful cottage

I booked a hot tub weekend away for my husband and I to the Steadings and what a beautifully clean and comfortable cottage it was. The owners met us as we drove to the cottage to show us around. They had also left us a welcome pack which included a bottle of Prosecco, that was a lovely extra. We made full use of the log burner as it wasn’t the best of weather when we were there. The cottage is remote and you will definitely need a car and may I strongly suggest a 4x4 car!! We were advised after booking that the track up to the cottage was 1.1 miles long and if you had a low lying car, it might be difficult to get up the quite steep incline. I have a crossland car and it really struggled with the track. For as steep as it was, the rocks and depression on one side of the track made it incredibly difficult! However, when we got to the top the views were incredible!! We now come to the hot tub. Please be aware that this is a SHARED HOT TUB!! It doesn’t actually state this in the information before booking and if I had known I was to share it with strangers, I probably would never have booked. You were given stated times of use and outwith those times, you could use it if empty. I would only ever book a shared tub if it was with family or friends! Overall, if you don’t mind a very difficult drive up to the cottage or sharing a hot tub with strangers then it’s well worth a stay!

Views to die for

Beautiful place, hosts are just lovely, so accommodating and friendly. Hot tub and pool are very relaxing with the best of views from the hot tub. Only downside is the road up but it's worth it
