Altes Schulhaus Mit Atemberaubendem Loch Und Bergblick

Das Old Schoolhouse befindet sich an der Seite von Loch Linnhe zwischen Ballachulish und Kentallen. Es hat einen atemberaubenden Blick über den See in Richtung der Berge von Ardgour. Auf der anderen Straßenseite befindet sich ein Loch-Radweg, der zum Wandern und Radfahren einlädt und eine großartige Aussicht bietet.
Das Haus ist hervorragend für Reisen in alle Richtungen nach Osten nach Glencoe und Glen Etive nach Westen nach Ardnamurchan, nach Süden nach Oban und nach Norden nach Fort William, Glenfinnan und darüber hinaus positioniert.
Die einzigartige Lounge war einst ein Schulzimmer. Die hohe Decke und die doppelten, nach Westen ausgerichteten Fenster machen es geräumig und hell. Speicherheizungen und ein Holzofen machen es das ganze Jahr über gemütlich.
Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet. Die Spülmaschine und das reichlich vorhandene Geschirr erleichtern die Zubereitung von Familienmahlzeiten. Eine Vielzahl von Cafés und Restaurants in der Nähe, von denen einige zu Fuß erreichbar sind, machen das Essen zum Kinderspiel.
Es gibt drei Schlafzimmer - Doppel-, Zweibett- und Etagenbett
Im Haus finden Sie eine Vielzahl von Reiseführern und Karten, mit denen Sie die Gegend entdecken und genießen können. Für ruhigere Tage gibt es einen großen umzäunten Garten, Fernseher, DVDs, Spielzeug und Spiele.
Alles in allem ein großartiger Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungstouren oder zum Entspannen in einer fabelhaften Gegend!

Comfortable cottage in a great location with easy access to the numerous great walking and cycling options in the area. Spectacular views across Loch Linnhe especially in the evening when the sun is setting. Highly recommend the Laroch Restuarant for food.

Trip to the Highlands

Lovely loch side location the Old School House was great. Fiona was excellent host and offered really useful and helpful information making our stay even more enjoyable. We weren’t lucky enough to experience the sunsets from the fab location but that didn’t spoil our stay. The Old School House is a great location for exploring this truly beautiful area.

Beautiful house in lovely area

We had a great holiday at the School house cottage. The house is a real home from home, very well equipped and all the toys were a big hit with our two kids. The house is very comfortable, fab views and great stove. We loved the area, so much to see and do...a week wasn't enough! Great base to see all the famous Scottish landmarks. Thanks Fiona for all the advice and for the big book of info you have at the cottage. Very useful and great reading!

Amazing holiday

Everything was as described. Amazing view from front room. Perfect location. Loved the woodburner. Cycle/walkway right across road was great. Less than a mile along the path to holy tree bar/restaurant. Spent a few afternoons on the deck overlooking the loch. Will definitely be back. Thanks Fiona.

Gorgeous place to be.

The property is so much bigger than the pictures represent, the lounge with its high ceiling and loch view is a lovely place to sit and relax. Excellent location for exploring the Glencoe valley, walks, climbs, the silver sand beaches and towns. The scenery is so amazing that driving longer distances to get places is stunning and a trip in itself. The house is really well equipped with lots of little extras being thought of, like blankets and hot water bottles, a laundry basket, bit and pieces in the kitchen, the cupboards stocked with games it’s the small things that count! Highly recommend, we loved it.

Well, well, well, what a property!

Amazing property in a wonderful location. Communication from Fiona was top notch. Friendly and informative and we were left wanting for nothing at The Old Schoolhouse. Cannot recommend it enough. We loved it so much and hopefully will be back. Our labrador, Brando, also loved it with plenty for him to do locally with lochs, glens, sights and smells. Just perfect. Great location with wonderful view

We stayed (2 adults, 2 children - 10 & 13 years) at the old school house for a week and can just highly recommend it. The house is wonderful decorated, has a very nice living room with a priceless view over the lake, is very clean, a well equipped kitchen with a dish washer, a separate room for the washing machine including a dryer (after a week traveling around Scotland we needed it), even toys and games for the kids, lots of literature about the region, a separate folder with things to do around, great location to explore this part of Scotland and a really nice host who gave us the feeling to be welcomed and supported us immediately if there were any questions. We felt immediately at home. This was for sure one of the best houses we stayed by now.

A special place!

Beautiful, quiet location and those views are absolutely stunning. The schoolhouse had everything you could want during your holiday. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils for every kind of meal. The bathroom with the underfloor heating was great. But my big guilty pleasure was the living room, log fire burning, sitting with a drink on the settee and just watching the sunset go down. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave it just felt so much like home. Fiona is a very special lady and will go to great lengths to make sure you have a wonderful stay at the schoolhouse. The schoolhouse is well situated for lots of different activities or lots of walks, be sure to try the walk along the cycle track by the house, watch out for the wildlife on the big rocks near the cycle track. We came in April and had dry sunny weather but with a cold wind. The schoolhouse garden is quite large and the bench by the wall is lovely for listening to the calming sounds as the sea laps ashore. All in all we had a fantastic time and I hope that I'll be back at some point soon. I would highly recommend staying at the schoolhouse. A big thank you to Fiona for a wonderful time.

Wonderful week at a very special place

We spent a great week in this special place with that wonderful view. The contact with the hostess was simple and friendly. On our arrival we were greeted by some tea and treats - very welcome after a long day of travel. The schoolhouse is very spacious and comfortable, so that after a day filled with hikes and excursions we were looking forward to relax there. In the surroundings there is a lot to see and do. Erholung mit der Familie

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub. Es war im Haus alles vorhanden was man braucht. Das ganze Haus ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und man fühlt sich dort sehr wohl. Den tollen Kamin könnten wir nicht nutzen da es immer warm war. Das Haus liegt ideal als Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Unternehmungen. Für Familien ist die Unterkunft sehr empfehlenswert.

Fantastischer Urlaub in einem fantastischen Haus in sehr schöner Lage !

Wir genossen einen wunderbaren Urlaub in dem sehr sauberen und gemütlichen alten Schulhaus. Es war alles vorhanden was wir benötigten. Die Lage des Hauses nahe Glencoe war ideal für viele tolle Ausflüge und Wanderungen. Der Kontakt mit Fiona war sehr nett und freundlich. Auch ein kleiner Willkommesgruß für die ersten Stunden war vorhanden. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ließ keine Wünsche offen und die Betten waren sehr bequem. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Danke Fiona.

We live and work in Edinburgh but have always loved the Scottish Highlands. We spent so many weekends and holidays exploring the west we decided to make a permanent base there. The house had been empty for years when we bought it and it has been a labour of love(and despair sometimes) to renovate it. As we have children at school we cannot use the house as much as we used to. It now makes sense to let other people use it and discover what a fantastic area it is.

We chose this house for its location and stunning views.
We have holidayed in most parts of Scotland but nowhere else can beat the variety of scenery and activities we have on our doorstep.
The Munros in Glencoe, the views at Port Appin, fresh seafood on the pier at Oban,cycling off road from almost the end of the garden,walking to the local hotel for a beer on the sun deck or pier,ferry trips,castles,history,fabulous beaches a bit further afield....We really do have it all. When the sun shines there is no better place to be.

We use the property a lot ourselves so we know it is comfortable and well equipped.
We want everyone to love the house and area as much as we do so we have left lots of information,maps,books,guides etc to make sure you have a good holiday.
The house itself is unique.The former schoolroom-now the lounge -gives it a 'wow' factor especially when watching the ever changing loch views.
