Furnished to a high specification to include a top-up memory form mattresse in every room and a powerful 'rainforest' shower in all three bathrooms. Without forgetting the half of an acre of outdoor space with two decking areas. Perfect for kids and family dog to explore. One of them gives you a stunning views of the stream and also the woodlands, where you can relax with a book, a glass of wine and simply reconnect with nature and its unspoilt beauty. The cottage is an idyllic base if you wish to walk the 186 miles of Pembrokeshire Coastal Path that is simply stunning with its rugged beauty and natural coastline. Or go Surfing, Dive in The Blue Lagoon or simply take a short stroll on the beach. But you have to decide which one to visit first! We are located near Little Haven, Newgale, Broadhaven, Dale, St Brides etc. Many of the beaches are dog friendly. You can also opt for a short drive to St David’s, Britain smallest city.

Yes, we are truly blessed to have such a beautiful cottage in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and walking distance to many blue flag beaches. Yes, the cottage location is an idellic one, giving us access to so many beaches within a mile of the property. Dear Tina, Thank you for your review. The cottage welcome and only charges for a maximum of 6 adults but we welcome two extra young guests that generally sleep either in a cot bed or in a toddler bed that we supply for free to our guests. I agree that the property is setup and well furnished to welcome six adults sleeping in luxurious topped memory beds across the three bedrooms along with a warm and a powerful shower and bubble bath available to chose from. Each bedroom has its bathroom next door or ensuite. Thank you for noting that the location is a truly a hidden gem in the heart of the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and so the majority of our guests that we have welcomed for the last ten years enjoys getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and technology to focus on what’s important, family, friends enjoy and being in the moment and take in the beauty of the area during their stay. We do have a 5G signal and you can make and receive calls while on the premises. As per my email prior to your arrival, the signal strength depends on your network provider. We are in the process of getting an upgrade to a Faster Broadband as we speak. The outside cottage is secure and of course safe as it has been for the last ten years and our guests both young, mature and their four legged friends loved the outside space whether is the countryside or a walk to nearby beaches of Little Haven, Broadhaven or the short drive to St Brides, Newgale to name but few. Also our cottage welcome up to a maximum of two dogs per stay when many cottages don’t or charges much more than we do. We supply our guests a list of our family favourites beaches as well as a list of pubs and restaurants to try out. Including our best fish and chips in the area. Dear Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry if you felt mislead. I did email you the network upgrade and how to connect to the local 5G network. I never had an issue connecting remotely while there as we get strong signal. There are three bathrooms, one shower over bath, a separate wet room and then another one with toilet and wash basin available. As plan B we had to disconnect the twin room shower head due to a leak onto the ground floor bedroom rather than cancel our guests stay. Plan A we will need to trace the leak and that means dig up the tiled floor and we couldn't have a full bathroom out of use and especially in August. I wish you contacted me during your stay and I would sent the cleaner back to empty the recycling bin and clean the fridge again. I have been hosting for over thirteen years and the majority of my guests loved the place as it's finish to a high standard and very good value for money. I did offer you two complementary nights stay for any future booking. I wish you the best, Hafida

Dear Susan, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and thank you for your kind comments. We leave a large Egyptian cotton bath towel per guest and a hand towel in each bathroom. We also prepare the cottage leaving two tea towels, bin liners, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and toilet paper. We also welcome our guests with a basket including Welsh cakes, fresh milk, tea bags, fresh coffee beans and hot chocolat. We also leave some pantry items. We do not replenish these items during our guest stay as it’s self-catering basis. Since your stay, we have added a second fridge to make our large group stay even more comfortable. Due to the hot weather this year, we were unable to complete our lavender’s memorial garden (in memory of my beloved mum) and this will look and smell wonderful by spring next year. We prepare the cottage for the number of guests stated in the original booking and we expect to be made aware of any extra guest staying at least 24h before arrivals so we can leave extra towels and extra bedsheets. Dear Hugh, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We sent you an email prior to your arrival regarding the network being upgraded hence for the weak signal during your stay. As far as the garden is concerned, the photos online shows you exactly what the property and the outside area looks like. Those wide and shallow steps give you access to the top decking area (but not suitable if you have a limited mobility), if you wish to enjoy the overall view of the cottage within the ancient woodlands while listening to wildlife including a variety of bird species. The cottage has been welcoming kids, adults including also those with limited mobility and the family pet for the last ten years and yet everyone has enjoyed. It must have been stressful for you losing the cottage key and I'm sure that has something to do with the way you feel. The housekeeper has promptly came to the rescue and gave you a spare key within 15mns. I wish you have contacted me prior to your booking and I would have answers any questions you might have had. Even though we tried to help you and emailed you weeks in advance, you chose to ignore the emails. We helped you as best as we could and until 10pm the night before you check in day to make sure everything was ready for your arrival. Thank you for acknowledging that the property is of high standard, luxurious and you had a fab time. Unfortunately, I can't control the lack of signal due to your network provider. I wish you contacted me during your stay and I would have solved the problem. I'm sorry if the situation was traumatic because you were not connected 24/7. Syke Mill is setup for a fun time with your friends and family in an idellic location and to disconnect from the hassle and bustle of every day life. Surfing in Broadhaven or Newgale beach. Diving in the The Blue Lagoon or simply take a short stroll on the beach. We are fortunate to be located near so many beaches such as Little Haven, Newgale, Broadhaven, Dale, St Brides or Barafundle. You can also opt for a short drive to St David’s, Britain smallest city. You might chose to chill out on the grounds of the cottage and walk to the reservoir through the ancient woodlands or Saint James Church located at the top of the village. We have recently upgraded our BBQ and we now offer a proper masonry one for a true taste of charcoaled BBQ or as per our overseas guests call it a cookout. As part of our hamper we also provide a bag of charcoal to get you started. To make our guests stay even more special, we offer a list of our family favourite places to enjoy a wholesome meal to include...the best fish and chips and a simple fish menu in my opinion, in the whole of Pembrokeshire. The fish is fresh....caught in the morning and served on the same day. It truly melt in the mouth...yummy. The cottage is described as a Unique, Hidden Gem, a Tardis. The nearest to the cottage is Little Haven, Broad Haven, Newgale, (ideal for surfing), Dale ( boat trip to Skomer island ( about 15 mns drive) etc. Many of the beaches are dog friendly. You can also opt for a short drive to St David’s, Britain smallest city and Solva. I’m pleased you made the most of the weather and enjoyed our newly fitted BBQ. Dear Deborah and family, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The top decking is accessible via a shallow set of steps made out of old railway sleepers. The spot is ideal at sunset to enjoy the view of cottage below and the ancient woodlands. If you are lucky you can watch bat and wildlife. I would not describe it as a road but a country lane used by the neighbouring two farms and it give us access to the path that lead to the beautiful reservoir, ideal for a dog walk or to just sit there and enjoy your morning coffee. The twin bedroom’s wet shower is ideal size for en-suite mostly used by our younger guests. As you said the en-suite master bedroom and the ground floor wet room are huge and therefore perfect for adults and those as tall as six feet and up. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed our family favourite list of places and pubs serving scrumptious food. As well as the fishmonger for special dinner of lobster, crabs etc. I hope you’ve enjoyed our welcome hamper of Welsh cakes, fresh milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate as well as small amount of essential items to help to make your stay even more special. WiFi signal is strong either from the top deck or by the gate. We are looking to upgrade the router to the inside of the house in due course. I believe so cabling work took place during the week near by. As far as parking is concerned, I’ve had workman onsite and it never been an issue to park two vans next to each other or one behind the other. The cottage has been running as holiday cottage for the last six years and I can assure you are the first guest making reference to our parking facilities. My boys are I loved Coastering too and to spend time and getting to know various beaches near by. I must say that there are so many beaches to choose from that you could pick one depending on your mood. I’m hoping that by next spring the garden will blossom with wild flowers, herb garden and scented lavendar. Hopefully our guests will smell the lavender as soon as they walk through the garden gate. Herb garden would be perfect to accompany the food cooked onto the newly installed bbq. We have also added an extra fridge for those who wants to enjoy a cooking holiday.
