Spectacular! This apartment had everything we needed for 3 full weeks. The Property Manager and owner were extremely responsive and helpful. The community is absolutely stunning, the view is amazing, and we plan to come back here every year! I cannot say enough about this particular property. It was one of our best trips!

We had a fantastic stay in the lovely apartment. It was nice, clean, spacious and fully equipped. There even was one cleaning during our 11 days stay, which was nice. The host was very friendly as well as our contact person Rosa, who was friendly in any situation. The pool area was absolutely stunning. What a view… The pool was so nice and clean and never crowded. We also loved the surroundings with flowers and lots of green plants and palmtrees.Nearby there was a very nice restaurant ‘Kudubar’ serving lovely fresh food by the friendly staff. We highly recommend staying at La Mairena and would love to come back.Britt Ryder and family from Denmark

We really enjoy La Mairena area. This is the second time Marbella. The apartment was great, and Rosa Maria was very friendly and checked on us to make sure everything was going OK. Check in and checkout was very convenient. We highly recommend this property to tell anyone that wants to visit the area.

Perfect place to recharge

The property was lovely & exactly as described. The stunning views from the patio were amazing and we spent as much time out there as possible. It is the perfect place if you’re looking to relax, a peaceful, quiet location but within easy distance of the town & sea.

Excellent stay in a beautiful location

The owners and property manager were very responsive and the apartment delivered as offered. It’s a beautiful location in Spain if you are looking for fun and relaxation near the coast. Also not far from historical places, natural wonders and beautiful Malaga and Marbella. The unit is well equipped and was nicely cleaned -to perfection.

Great Apartment

My daughter and I had a great stay at this apartment. It’s spacious, fully equipped and all of the communication and administration was very friendly and efficient. The complex is really pretty, quiet and well kept. A car and stamina for stairs and hills are a must for all potential guests. We would stay here again.

Paul's villa is truly stunning (so the description does not exaggerate things a single bit this time)! It is very spacious, with a superb floor plan, two beatiful bathrooms, an amazing huge and nearly 360 degrees terrace with incredible views of the sea, the hills, the seaside towns, etc... Very quiet and safe community. Parking is always easy. As someone who lives in a very similar foothill community in Northern California I would not at all like to stay in downtown Marbella - or even Elviria for that matter. Too busy for my liking... La Mareina, pn the other hand, is perfect: just like home, but better! And of course you can't beat a 3 minute walk to the German school where my son went to the Spanish immersion camp and which he absolutely loved! We will absolutely be back - and will stay quite a bit longer next time. If Paul lets us do so, that is...Thanks again for everything!!

Peace, quiet and sunshine

This property is 3 miles up the hill from Elviria. That gives you several advantages, it's a little cooler than the coastal strip, there are a lot less people and no crowding round the pool and it only takes 10 minutes to reach the Costa madness when you feel like joining in. The area is great- not as stupidly expensive as Puerto Banus but not as naff as Torremolinos. It's centrally placed for the whole Costa del Sol. The main bedroom is wonderful and spacious with a very large bathroom. The communal pool is superb (our 2nd time here) and the gated entrance provides excellent security. We loved it!!!

We had an amazing five-week stay at Paul’s apartment while my daughter attended summer camp down the hill. It truly became a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return. The location is perfect for exploring. We took day trips to Gibraltar, Mijas, Setenil, and Ronda, and even managed a weekend in Morocco. After each adventure, it was wonderful to come back to the peace of the mountains, where the nights were quiet, we slept beautifully, and always felt safe. At the same time, Elviria at the bottom of the hill offered lively beaches, great restaurants, and some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had at Kalt—worth the trip down the mountain on its own!The apartment itself is lovely and spotless, with a patio boasting beautiful views and access to a great pool in the complex. But what made the experience outstanding was the care we received from Paul and the property manager, Rosa Maria. They were both incredibly responsive to every question and need. When we accidentally jammed the eurolock by leaving keys in the door, they had a locksmith at the apartment immediately—on a Saturday! That kind of support made our stay stress-free and so enjoyable. If you’re looking for the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation in southern Spain, this is it. Between the incredible location, the comfort of the apartment, and the kindness of Paul and Rosa Maria, our family couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

we had a fantastic holiday in Elviria / La Mairena

The apartment was very beautiful and had a very good condition / standard. The local contact (Rosa) is very nice and she was always available. The communication with the local contact Rosa or Paul was perfect. Also big thanks for the information and hints about the region. The check-in and check-out was also very easy and quickly. From the apartment you have a beautiful view of the valley and the sea. Thanks a lot for a fantastic holiday! Axel

Exactly as advertised

The place was precisely as advertised and very nice. No trick photos to make rooms look bigger or missing amenities - it is as beautiful as the pictures show. Paul and his local property manager were friendly, kind and remained very focused on making it a great stay - they remained in contact and involved the entire trip. Our boys were at summer camp at the German school which is a 3 minute walk from the apartment. All-in-all, a great place and the landlord a class act.

For those of you whose French is not as good as it could be, Catherine writes:- ideal!! We had a great 15 days of vacation! The apartment in which you feel like you're in a small house, is perfect! A very large terrace allowing you to eat in the shade with sun beds next to it and another space with a small table and 2 chairs that allows you to be a little isolated and quiet. A perfect setup! The house is very comfortable. There's nothing missing. Or if you're looking for the little beast, a household robot (mixer for example) would be a little extra. The view is SPLENDIDE! Both sea and mountain... calm reigns in this residence we are quiet. The pool is very very large and uncrowded. We often had it all to ourselves! Rosa Maria is very available if you have a question or advice. The area is very beautiful. It is imperative that you have a car and everything is nearby. The Andalusians are lovely people. Favorite for Mijas and Ronda who are not too far away. The tiny museum in Mijas is worth a visit, it is original and playful for children. We preferred the atmosphere of the beaches of Fuengirola to those of Marbella which are a little more "chic". On the golf side, the "Cala de Golf" is beautiful and the welcome is very good. To sum up: friendly and responsive guests, a very nice rental, a beautiful region, an omnipresent sun: a perfect holiday !!! Thank you very much Paul, Fiona and Rosa Maria! Many thanks for taking the time to write so much Catherine. We hope to welcome you back at some point!

Fantastisk lejlighed i fantastiske omgivelser!

Many thanks indeed-so glad you had a good time! For those whose Danish is a little rusty, this is what Bo and Heidi said:- Fantastic apartment in stunning surroundings! Very large and spacious apartment with two large bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Nice living room and fully equipped kitchen. We stayed the most on the terrace, which was amazing - both with and without cover. The pool area is just below the road and the pictures fully live up to the reality. Beautiful, clean and amazing view from here. In the town of Elviria below the mountain there is ample opportunity to do the daily shopping and there are plenty of good restaurants. All in all, a great holiday and we will be happy again. Yours sincerely Bo and Heidi Maimburg, Denmark
