Geräumiges Cottage mit Meerblick

Wain Cottage ist ein geräumiges Haus mit zwei Schlafzimmern in einem kleinen Weiler mit Blick auf die zerklüftete Küste zwischen Tintagel und Boscastle. Das Haus genießt eine herrliche Aussicht auf das Meer und die hügelige Landschaft. Auf einer privaten Straße gelegen, fühlt es sich "abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade" an und Tintagel ist nur 3 km entfernt. Das Haus verfügt über eine Zentralheizung mit Propangas (im Preis inbegriffen). Es gibt einen Holzofen mit einem Korb mit Holzscheiten. Es gibt Balken im ganzen Haus und volle doppelt verglaste Türen und Fenster. Alles in allem ein komfortabler und gemütlicher Ort, um einen ruhigen und entspannten Urlaub zu verbringen. Der Garten ist komplett umzäunt und bei schönem Wetter ideal zum Ausruhen und Genießen. Der Weiler Trevillett ist sicher für Kinder, um herumzulaufen. Wenn Sie Selbstversorger mögen, werden Sie von den Einrichtungen nicht enttäuscht sein; Wenn Sie lieber draußen essen gehen, gibt es viele Restaurants, Kneipen und Teestuben.

Perfect getaway

We loved getting away for alternative Christmas in this delightful cottage. Long bracing coastal walks followed by food, drink and games in the cosy cottage. It’s perfectly placed for exploring the North Cornwall coast and its legends.

Beautiful spot

The cottage was in a beautiful spot with views of the sea and in a quiet hamlet. It was much bigger than we had expected and really felt like a home away from home. It was wonderful to experience a real English cottage. Everything we could have wanted was available and we especially appreciated the washer and dryer.

We had a lovely stay for a week in the cottage. The cottage was very well equipped and the owners were very helpful with any questions before our stay. It is very near Tintagel with all the magical places to visit including, Boscastle, Port Issac and Bodmin Moor.

Enjoyed our stay.

Cottage spacious and Cosy As other guests have remarked thick cob webs behind radiators not sure if related but caught about 3 big thick spiders daily. Had to rearrange cupboards to make room for dry food goods as a lot of China for a two bedroom cottage. But overall a good stay.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Wain Cottage. Sorry about the spiders: we are aware of the problem and our housekeepers have been diligent is trying to clear the cobwebs and deal with any spiders they find. We do have two food cupboards, but perhaps they are filling up with contributions from previous guests and need a clear-out. I hope you these issues will not discourage you from staying with us again in the future.

Cornwall in September.

Lovely cottage in a quiet area with pastoral views of the surrounding area. It had more space than the two of us needed, so we were very comfortable. It is located close to Tintagel and Boscastle, as well as Bossiney House Restaurant. We explored further afield going as far as Penzance to experience Cornwall. There is certainly much to see and do in the area. Don’t miss Port William at sunset! A truly hidden gem.

Lovely spacious cottage

A lovely spacious cosy cottage with a well equipped kitchen and an excellent heating system which we needed to have on as the evenings are getting a little chilly now. Well maintained and clean on arrival. A perfect base to explore this area which is stunning. Also had to contact the caretaker as I'd left something behind and she couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Would absolutely recommend.

Scenic Quiet

We enjoyed the rural aspect of Wain’s Cottage, its interior - parts of which reflect a much earlier time in history, and the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. The house had significant space on the lower level with plenty of comfortable places to sit and the amenities like TV, WIFI, and washer/dryer worked very well. The upstairs space was as described in the listing. We had issue with a disagreeable odor in the towels and the host said she will check into it.

Needs thorough cleaning

Superb location. The property could be great if it was given some attention. It clearly needs upgrading and thorough cleaning. Cobwebs covered in dust under every radiator and on ceilings, also in the bedroom cupboards where the blankets are stored. The sofas are very uncomfortable (I could not sit on them at all during the stay) and the covers need upgrading. The toilet has been set on a sloping floor making it uncomfortable to use. Overall the cottage was well equipped and the heating was efficient but for the above reasons we were disappointed with our stay.

Quaint stay near Tintagel

We arrived after a long drive to this quaint cottage. It sits outside of town in rolling hills with a partial view of the coastline. We felt the ocean view was a little overstated by the description and past reviews, but it is beautiful if you find the right spot upstairs in the twin bedroom or from the neighbor’s lawn out front. But it’s a beautiful area and we were glad to stay here for five nights. The back yard is relaxing with a rustic picnic table. The beds are very comfortable. The heating and hot water were timed and worked out well for us. Kitchen is well stocked albeit a little unique with the way appliances are arranged, but we understand space is limited. Area rugs in living room looked like new and added to the cozy feeling with the wood burning stove, especially on the one day it rained. Some of the covered furniture and pillows did feel like they should be updated and/or deep cleaned. Overall there were a few areas we felt that could be cleaner, the entrance & kitchen rug, carpeted rooms and corners were some of our first impressions. Perhaps we were the first to stay there in some time early in the season. The hosts provided a couple excellent restaurant suggestions. We ate at Cobweb once, Port William twice. We would add Tintagel’s own The Olde Malthouse where we had excellent service and some of our favorite food of the entire trip. Overall it was a pleasant stay and handy location for exploring the coast for what the total cost was.

Gemütliches, uriges Ferienhaus

Sehr geräumiges Ferienhaus, größer als wir erwartet hatten, mit eigenem Garten und in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend gelegen. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir haben in den Betten sehr bequem geschlafen. Die ein oder andere Spinne lebt mit im Haus ;-)

Ein schöner Ort um zur Ruhe zu kommen

Das Wain Cottage. mit seinem Blick auf den Atlantik und die Nähe zum Costpath und der liebevollen und gemütlichen Innen- und Außengestaltung ist ein Ort an dem man zur Ruhe kommt und sich wohl fühlt und damit die besten Voraussetzungen zur Erholung bietet! Einzig, dass man leider immer ins Auto steigen muss, auch wenn es nur kurze Strecken sind, ist etwas schade.

Ruhiges kleines Cottage

Die Anfahrt zum Cottage ist abenteuerlich. Nach drei Speed Humps erwartete uns ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Sehr liebevoll war der Empfang mit greetings und Keksen. Wir hatten unsere Liegestühle dabei und haben es nicht bereut, da der Garten wunderbar zum lesen und ausruhen ist. In der Umgebung befindet sich vieles zum besichtigen und zum erwandern. Der Rundweg vom Haus aus zum nahe gelegenen Wasserfall ist sehr zu empfehlen. Tintagel selbst ist sehr touristisch . Der Sweets Shop und der Premier bieten das notwendigste. Sehr zu empfehlen !

As a family we are based in Bristol. For many years we have enjoyed spending self-catering holidays with our two children, often in Cornwall. We love the coast of North Cornwall with its dramatic cliffs and secluded beaches. The weather can be unpredictable (sometimes April, May and June are best), but if it is cloudy near us it will often be sunny elsewhere. We try to maintain Wain Cottage as a home from home, so that you really can self-cater if you want to and are comfortable during your stay. It is our second home and we always look forward to returning to spend time there.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Wain Cottage is set in a fine position on a hillside with views of the Cornish coast between Tintagel and Boscastle. The cottage was converted from a nineteenth century slate-built barn in the 1980s. For the last 25 years it has been available to let as a holiday home and maintained to a high standard. We bought Wain Cottage in 2012 to use for our own family holidays, and also to be available for those who love the wild and rugged coast of North Cornwall. Several fine beaches are only a few minutes' drive away. Wain Cottage is set in its own private location in a small hamlet yet it is close to all amenities. Access via the A30 or A39 means you are never too far from bigger towns and popular visitor attractions.

The coast of North Cornwall is wonderful for walking and we have footpaths starting right from the door of Wain Cottage. We are a mile by road from Rocky Valley and the sea at Bossiney Haven. You are then on the South West Coast Path with fine cliff-top walks to Tintagel or to Boscastle.
