Das Haus war ursprünglich eine von Spaniens ersten öffentlichen Getreidespeicher aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Jetzt komplett renoviert, mit drei Doppelzimmer plus ein Ersatzzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten, es schläft acht bequem. Hotel liegt im Herzen der Altstadt, es ist nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hauptplatz und lokalen Bars und Restaurants. Viele der Prozessionen der lokalen Fiestas Pass direkt vor dem Haus und bietet ein großartiger Ort, um das Fest zu beobachten. Auf einem Kalksteinfelsen thront, ist Arcos de la Frontera eine der bemerkenswertesten Dörfer in Spanien. Seinen weiß getünchten Häusern und Steinkirchen wickeln oben in der Altstadt, stoppen abrupt, wie die schiere Felswand drastisch stürzt ins Tal des Flusses Guadalete unten. Arcos verfügt über einige der spektakulärsten Feste laufen das ganze Jahr über ein traditionelles spanisches Erfahrung: Flamenco, Sherry, Tapas und langen warmen Abenden. Es gibt auch einen nahe gelegenen Golfplatz und See, wo man segeln kann.

Very spacious accommodation. It was clean, air conditioning worked very well and had that little Spanish town feel. Driving in old town is not for the faint of heart. Take advice of host and take the shuttle up first time to see where to go. Great views to be had of surrounding areas. Would definitely go back.

Spacious house combining ancient (arches) and modern esthetics (light fixtures). Beautiful floors and original (?) wooden window shutters. Comfy beds, well-lit, cozy fireplace and with eclectic library. Kitchen was a bit disorganized for serious cooking.

Spacious and Charming

We were four adults needing 3 bedrooms. This apartment suited our needs perfectly. We loved the charm of the place and enjoyed walking all the unique streets of the town. It was great to have such a large kitchen and a washer and dryer. Mark was quick to respond to any questions as was the house keeper Beatrix. We parked in the parcade El Paseo approximately a 15 min walk from the apartment. I would recommend visiting Arcos de la Fronterra and renting this place.

Delightful adventure

Living in the old town, way at the top, was an adventure - not for anyone looking for being surrounded by English speakers. The restored house was lovely, well furnished with a great kitchen/washer-dryer and updated bathrooms.A great fireplace for chilly February nights. Very good advice from owner about where to park our car (down below in underground parking), places to eat and things to do. House is surrounded by historic churches and a lovely Parador with a stunning, huge deck looking down over the valley and river. There is a free bus on the half hour that makes the climb up and down; walking up and down is an adventure on the impossibly narrow streets, but definitely memorable. We had stayed five years ago outside Rhonda, so we knew about the white villages, and went both to the coast and to some other white villages. Housekeeper very nice but speaks no English, but willing to look up words on her phone. We're glad we did this!

Spacious and special in Arcos

Our family's experience with Calle Bovedas 10 was excellent from booking to checkout. After our reservation was confirmed, Mark provided a comprehensive summary of local attractions along with detailed instructions for parking, taxi service, walking, and negotiating the narrow streets of this historic neighborhood. Upon arrival we were greeted by Beatriz with house keys and a walk-through of the property. It was clear that the house was very clean and tastefully decorated throughout. Beamed ceilings and brick floors combine with a well furnished kitchen, dining area, comfortable beds, and ample bathrooms to create a unique atmosphere.The rooftop was a wonderful place to enjoy coffee or cocktails on a nice day. Within a ten minute walk you will find historic churches, a wide range of restaurants, artisan shops, and stunning views (miradores). We left our rental car at the El Paseo parking garage and drove up to the house for passenger pickup or drop-off as needed. The first drive up the hill on narrow streets was challenging (in a 74-inch wide SUV), but I got used to the tight clearances quickly.Highly recommended if you are interested in exploring western Andalucia!
The rooftop terrace has seating for six and is a great location for morning coffee.
The living and dining rooms are separated by these amazing brick arches. The spiral staircase is very solid and accessible to young and old alike.
This bedroom faces the street and features a comfortable queen bed with Spanish wool blankets. We visited in April and left the windows open.

Book this place...now!

My wife & I are just back from a trip to Andalusia that included 2 nights in this wonderful property in Arcos de la Frontera. During the last 20+ years, we have probably stayed in 50 different VRBO properties. None of them were even remotely as nice as this one. The description and photos you see here are accurate, but understated. This place is amazing...everything from the location of the lighting and light switches to the attention to detail of what must have been a challenging modernization project to the expansiveness and drama of the space itself. And it is located just a few hundred feet away from the busiest parts of town...close enough to provide easy access, but far enough away to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions. The owner and the local property manager were helpful and readily available without being intrusive or demanding. We stayed during the busy Holy Week activities and it felt like all of it was happening in our neighborhood. We had access when we wanted it, but felt removed and "cocooned" when we retreated to the townhouse/apartment. I have no idea what other properties are offered in the heart of Arcos and at what price, but we encourage you to get this place if it is available and even close to within your budget. At the very least, you won' be disappointed. More likely, you will find -- as we did -- that it is the kind of accommodation that can significantly enhance your visit to this wonderful and interesting town.

what a wonderful house

Like most of the houses in the historic center of Arcos de la Frontera, this house looks like nothing from the outside. But you enter a large, lovely old home, with so many delightful decor details. The spiral staircase is fancy ironwork, narrow enough that even we as old people were comfortable using them. The windows have wooden doors and shutters that can be opened partially or fully depending on how much light or privacy you want. The kitchen is huge and ridiculously oversupplied with everything except maybe for baking. The ceilings were high and the temperature outside was cool, so we were most comfortable closing internal doors and just heating the room we were in (they heated quickly). These internal doors allowed us to modify the feeling of the house from very open to very cozy. As is probably obvious, we loved the house. All of the historic center was close and very walkable. We often used the little grocery store across the street, and fell in love with the Mercadona that was on the circuit of the minibus we used to get down the hill to our car in a parking garage. As suggested, we did not drive up to the house because the streets are narrow and there's no parking. However, the streets, though quite narrow in places, were driveable - the minibus managed it, after all. One could also walk down the hill to the parking garage, and we did this occasionally as the minibus stops early on Saturday and doesn't run on Sunday. Beatriz was super helpful

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft

Das Objekt ist aufwändig restauriert und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Wohnung (auf 2. Etagen, verbunden über eine Wendeltreppe) ist geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet (u. a. Klimaanlage in allen Räumen). Die Lage (mitten im historischen Kern von Arcos) ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Bei der Anreise mit dem eigenen oder angemieteten Pkw sollte man die Hinweise des Vermieters durchaus ernst nehmen. Die engen Gassen von Arcos sind nicht für den Straßenverkehr konzipiert worden. Wer ein größeres Fahrzeug fährt oder wem das angemietete Fahrzeug noch nicht so vertraut ist, sollte dem Vorschlag des Vermieters entsprechend darüber nachdenken, sein Fahrzeug unterhalb der Altstadt stehen zu lassen und von dort die Anreise mit dem Taxi oder dem Minibus (der in unmittelbarer Nähe zu der Wohnung hält) fortzusetzen. Die Schlüssel- und Wohnungsübergabe war völlig unproblematisch. Hilfreich waren auch die umfangreichen Hinweise und Tipps des Vermieters (Restaurantempfehlungen, Vorschläge für Ausflüge in die Umgebung, etc.). Wegen der engen und steilen Wendeltreppe dürfte die Wohnung für Familien mit Kleinkindern und gehbehinderte Personen eher ungeeignet sein. Abgesehen davon kann ich diese außergewöhnliche Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Großartiges Haus mit tollen Terrassen

Zu zweit haben wir vier Tage in diesem Haus in Arcos verbracht. Sowohl die Inneneinrichtung (maurische Elemente) als auch die Außenbereiche (Patio, Dachterrasse) haben uns begeistert. Eine echte Empfehlung!

Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto durch die schmalen Gassen von Arcos' Altstadt war abenteuerlich. Schnell ausladen und wieder weiter um die anderen Fahrer nicht zu behindern. Wir haben etwas außerhalb (einfach die Straße weiter hinunter) geparkt - kostenlos. Schlüsselübergabe ging zügig. Schräg gegenüber gibt es einen kleinen Laden für die nötigsten Dinge. Das Haus - unten die Küche, Eß- und Wohnraum mit Kamin. Er war an, als wir ankamen. Fein! Eine Wendeltreppe fürt zu den Schlafräumen. Es gibt zwei große Schlafzimmer mit marokkanisch angehauchten Bädern. Dann gibt es noch ein Schlafzimmer, ein drittes Bad und einen kleinen Raum mit Tür zum Hof und Schlafsofa. Der kleine Hof hat einfache Holzsitzmöbel, einen kleinen Brunnen und eine Steintreppe zur Dachterrasse. Dort oben gibt es einen großen Tisch zwischen Pflanzenkübeln (Morgensonne). Die Ausstattung ist abgesehen von den bewusst alten Dingen neu und mit sehr viel Geschmack ausgesucht. Es ist alles sehr geräumig. Die Küche hat alles, was man braucht und die Betten sind bequem. Es gibt Klimaanlage in allen Räumen (warm/kalt). Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in diesem wundervollen Haus sehr genossen. Nun - über Arcos sag ich nichts! Es lohnt sich!!!

The house is incredible!

We absolutely loved this beautiful house! It had old-world charm with all of the modern conveniences. The house is immaculate and spacious. The location is great, very close to eateries and tiny tourist shops. If I ever go back to Arcos de la Frontera, I won’t stay anywhere else!

Spectacular!

The photos do not do justice to this fantastic, spacious house. It is absolutely gorgeous and extremely commodious. The architecture, the design and the art - all perfect. We were there during EXTREME heat which meant we ended up spending far more time in the house than we anticipated. Fortunately, it couldn't have been more comfortable. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take advantage of the outdoor patio and deck because of the heat. We were there in mid July to the first week in August. I don't blame the house for the weather! The town itself is wonderful. The ancient surroundings are fascinating. The residents couldn't be nicer and the restaurants are terrific. It's a very special property if you're looking for an unusually situated site. If I were to return to the area, I wouldn't hesitate to rent this gorgeous house again.

La casa fantástica contaba con todo tipo de comodidades y la cocina impresionante. A la familia les encantó el sitio, la ubicación era genial porque nos permitió ir a un montón de sitios. Amazing ambience

We (4 adults and 2 teenagers) have just returned from a long weekend in Arcos which was just not long enough to fully appreciate this amazing house. We loved how this house has been renovated retaining and emphasising so many unique features whilst feeling luxurious with the high spec fittings, 3 fab showers, comfortable beds, quality towels and bedding and all kitchen amenities. As we stayed in January we made more use of the living area with real fire rather than the stunning courtyard and roof Terrace, people used to walk past the windows and then double back to peer in as inside the house is just stunning. Just a short walk away from the main square and variety of tapas restaurants, we enjoyed all of them and as 2 of our party are vegetarian they commented that there was plenty of choice. We didn't find parking a problem as found space on street lower down and walked up, we did brave driving the car up to unload and it is quite tricky to navigate. In the summer we would take up the owners suggestion of using underground parking and catching minibus which drops you off almost opposite house. We visited Cadiz and Jerez and would definitely return to explore other places if possible staying here!

A truly beautiful house in a truly beautiful location. Spacious enough to easily accommodate three couples. If you can handle the circular staircase (see picture), you should also be able to handle the hike up from the underground car park or, a little further, from the free lot on the edge of town.

Lovely, cosy place also in winter.

Really nicely renovated with big rooms and large kitchen and cosy fireplace. The town is lovely as well, but if you are not a strong walker and need your car right outside your door this is not your place.

Alojamiento excelente, muy confortable y encantador.

Somos tres parejas que hemos disfrutado un fin de semana fantástico en Arcos de la Frontera. La casa está muy bien ubicada en el mismo centro de la ciudad y al mismo tiempo en un sitio tranquilo. Es una casa muy amplia, con una excelente rehabilitación que proporciona rincones y espacios encantadores. Esta muy bien equipada, lo que permite comodidad y pasar buenos ratos de charla o de relax después de un atareado día turístico. La recomendamos vivamente.

Beautiful well appointed house in a picturesque town

Our party consisted of Mum, Dad, Granny and 2 teenage kids. Weather was very hot but house had a lovely airy feel with high ceilings and good aircon throughout. Arcos is a great place as a base for exploring this beautiful region and within an hour or so of Seville, Cadiz & some fantastic beaches. The local beach at the lake is good for swimming but not within walking distance. You would need to be both competent and confident to navigate the streets in the old town by car! Parking near the river and in the ring road car park is free but expect a 10-15min walk up to the house! Great cafe's and bars all around the old town with very reasonable prices. If you were planning to stay longer than 4 days then i would recommend you hire a car and plan trips to surrounding areas as Arcos itself has limitations on activities especially for kids. We had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it.

Stylish and comfortable stay in cliff top town

Beautiful place, very clean, comfortable, amazing high ceilings and architectural details. Our stay was easy going and the town is fun to explore, with gorgeous views 'miradors', at every turn. Would definitely recommend staying here. We were a group of 6 and we had plenty of space.
