Lovely house in a beautiful rural setting, close to the coast path with walks on the doorstep yet only a 5 min drive into St Ives. Good location to explore this part of Cornwall.

Perfect location, beautiful house

We had a wonderful stay in this spacious, beautifully and thoughtfully appointed house outside St Ives. The location had an open, country feel while being a refreshing and easy walk or short drive into the historic and cultural centre of St Ives. Communication with the helpful, friendly and responsive host, Barbara, was excellent and we certainly look forward to our next stay there.

Fantastic property

We had an amazing stay in this property. The location is fantastic. We walked into St Ives several times via the coastal path and the views were stunning. A lovely property situated in the hamlet of Trowan. Great communication from the owner/manager before, during and after the stay. Lovely house, tastefully furnished and well equipped. Week in Cornwall

We had wonderful weather all week in Cornwall and our stay could not have been better! A beautifully appointed home and Barbara was available to communicate with for anything we needed. We walked a lot and Trowan is the perfect location for either the Coastal Path and or the inland path which we took to Zennor. Particularly enjoyed The Gunnard's Head and Porthminster Kitchen for dinner.

Tranquil location within walking distance of St Ives

This really is a splendid holiday location. The house is homely, set in farmland with its own garden. Sea and hill views, and paths from the house that take you to St Ives and the coastal path. We had a brilliant week in April and are likely to return! We visited the Geevor Tin mine which is excellent, and did lots of hiking. Also booked in for surf lessons with the St Ives Surf School, very friendly and encouraging. All in all, I highly recommend a stay at Haulfre, Trowan.

Lovely family holiday in a beautiful part of Cornwall. We all enjoyed exploring the area, the coast, the sea and the countryside. The house is very well appointed and was ideally suited to our needs. A very relaxing holiday

The cottage couldn't have been more comfortable! It was also very well equipped and in a truly magnificent location. Our younger teen loved the raised platform bed, and we all slept extremely well all week. Barbara's advance information enabled us to plan our stay - catching the bus into the centre of St Ives, visiting the Tremenseere Sculpture park - highly recommended, even on a very misty day! - and enjoying a beautiful walk along the coastal path around Zennor. Thank you Barbara, we had a really lovely holiday.

Trowan Farm

Myself and my family have absolutely loved staying at Halfre, Trowan Farm. Barbara was very helpful from the outset and gave us all the information we needed. The location is spectacular, within easy reach of St Ives and the coastal path with it's stunning scenery. The property itself was clean, tastefully decorated and full of character with a lovely garden overlooking fields. I can't recommend this place enough, we had great time and to top it off the weather was magnificent.

Great house

A really great house on the coast. We went at New Year, when St Ives is a fun place to be. It takes about 40 minutes to walk in and the path was pretty muddy - but it has been a very wet year. There are also lots of taxis, so getting in and out wasn't ever difficult. The house itself is gorgeous. Very well equipped and spacious. Owner very helpful at all times.

Wonderful cottage, wonderful stay

The Cottage is in a secluded location alongside some other properties but has the best spot with the best views - sea, hills, fields and sunsets. The interior is contemporary comfort. Everything is good quality and very nicely chosen for a comfortable but contemporary feel. One end looks outside through French doors into a garden and Cornish nature and the other centres around a very cosy log burner . Perfect in all weathers . The kitchen is superbly equipped. St Ives is a 30-50 minute beautiful walk and you can walk for as long as you want in the other direction through pretty farmsteads or along the coast. We loved our time here.

Wir haben hier schon viele schöne Ferien verbracht. Nach einer ausgiebigen Suche erwarben wir unsere Immobilie, Haulfre in Trowan Farm, und sind überzeugt, dass St. Ives und Umgebung der edelste und schönste Teil einer hervorragenden Region sind. Als vielbeschäftigte Journalisten und Akademiker schätzen wir diese Oase der Ruhe und der Schönheit. Wir lieben es zu allen Jahreszeiten. Wir haben aus dem Haus etwas mehr gemacht als ein gewöhnliches 'Ferienhaus' – für Gäste verfügbare Gemälde, Bücher, CDs und DVDs, verleihen dem Haus eine besondere Atmosphäre, als ein zweites Zuhause.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

St. Ives ist ein malerischer Fischerort im äußersten Westen Cornwalls und ist berühmt für seine perfekten Strände und Künstler-Gemeinde. Die natürliche Schönheit und die Lichtqualität inspirierten die St. Ives Malerschule. St. Ives bietet viele feine Restaurants, kleine Boutiquen und Cafés und beherbergt die berühmte Tate St. Ives mit ihren zeitgenössischen Kunstsammlungen. Von den fünf sehr schönen Stränden eignet sich eins besonders gut zum Surfen - alle haben wunderschönen feinen Sand. Von unserem Haus aus erreichen Sie St. Ives nach einer ca. 25-minütigen Wanderung über die Wiesen und Klippen. Dies ist ein vollständig autofreier Weg mit spektakulären Blicken. Die Fahrt mit dem Auto dauert 5 Minuten. Weiter westlich befindet sich Lands End mit einer beeindruckenden Landschaft aus Felsen und Weilern, sowie interessanten Kirchen.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

Dieses äußerst private und freistehende Anwesen wurde von einem Architekten entworfen, mit einem hübschen Garten und Rasen. Es bietet einen Meeresblick und ist von Wiesen umgeben. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind beeindruckend und nachts ist der Himmel voller Sterne. Das Haus ist niveauvoll eingerichtet, mit einer großzügigen, gut ausgestatteten und handgebauten Küche. Ein Holzofen verleiht dem Esszimmer eine gemütliche Atmosphäre und für Besuche außerhalb der Saison gibt es eine komplette Zentralheizung. Das Hauptschlafzimmer ist en-suite, mit einem zusätzlichen Badezimmer. Es gibt reichlich Platz zum Entspannen, sowohl im Inneren des Hauses als auf der Terrasse. Ein gut erzogener Hund ist willkommen. Die Ortschaft Trowan ist autofrei und ist somit für Kinder sicher. Haulfre bietet ein perfektes Urlaubsdomizil mit fünf Sternen Komfort - und einfachen Zugang zu den Stränden, Dörfern und Landschaften des Westens Cornwalls.
