Sehr privates 2-stöckiges Haus am See, komplett ausgestattet zum Schwimmen, Kajakfahren, Angeln und Entspannen mit der ganzen Familie. Große abgeschirmte Veranda mit Sitzgelegenheiten und einem großen Picknicktisch zum Essen, für spätabendliche Kartenspiele oder einfach zum Genießen des See- und Bergblicks. Das Dock verfügt über ein am Wasser gelegenes Deck mit Geländern, ein größeres, erweitertes Deck zum Genießen der Sonne und ein schwimmendes Schwimmfloß (mit Leiter). Level Hinterhof hat 150 Meter freie Sicht. Es hat auch einen großen Gasgrill und eine kleine Feuerstelle, perfekt für Smores und die gelegentliche Geistergeschichte. Das Haus verfügt über 2 Kajaks, ein Ruderboot mit Elektromotor, ein Kanu und viele Wasserschläuche / -nudeln. Schwimmwesten und Paddel sind enthalten.
Geräumige 3 Schlafzimmer und 2 Bäder. Das Hauptschlafzimmer verfügt über ein großes Queensize-Bett und eine Sitzecke mit angrenzender Badewanne und einem Seedeck. Das 2. Schlafzimmer hat 2 Doppelbetten und das 3. Schlafzimmer (im 1. Stock) hat 2 Einzelbetten.
Voll ausgestattete Pantryküche (mit einer Frühstücksbar mit 3 Hockern), ein Wohnzimmer und eine Küchenzeile für 6 Personen. Es gibt auch einen großen Picknicktisch auf der abgeschirmten Veranda für 8 Personen.
Das Wohnzimmer bietet auch WLAN, einen Fernseher und einen Holzofen für die kühleren Sommerabende.

Amazing location, wonderful house

Everything about our stay on Fern Lake was perfect. The location is amazing, the house is cozy and has everything you need (only exception is you bring your own linens). The kids loved minnows nibbling on their toes. Easy access to Lake Dunmore, Brandon, and Middlebury. Hope to come back again next summer!

Lovely and comfortable

Fern Lake is a small, hidden treasure conveniently located near Middlebury/Burlington to the north and Rutland to the south, with a scenic trip through one of the gaps access Mad River Valley. The area around the home is quite beautiful and is serene and comfortable. The house is nice - not luxurious but fully functional and easy to live in. The owners are very quick to communicate and attentive to whatever we needed to ask about. We loved morning coffee staring at the lake and evening conversation while sitting near the fire and staring at the lake.

Great Vacation

What a wonderful week we had using the kayaks, fishing off the dock, hiking nearby and eating some delicious not your run of the mill food as recommended. The house was clean and comfortable and the best part was that the house was very private with full view of the lake. Perfect Escape

We spent 5 nights at Fern Lake and even though the weather was ‘iffy’ a couple of days we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The decks and docks are great, and the house is very, very comfortable and well appointed. We fished, kayaked a bit and enjoyed having our adult children visit us (we all live relatively nearby). We went to all our favorite restaurants in the area and did some cooking on the grill as well. We hiked to Silver Lake (from Goshen) for fishing and a picnic. Overall it was a top-notch experience and we’re hoping to return next year. Thank you, Colin and Susan, for a much needed and appreciated getaway!

We can’t say enough great things about the property! Loved having access to the Lake and tried to swim but too cold! Fire pit was wonderful! Indoors was so cozy and clean and allowed us to feel at home. We’ll be back!

Late summer at Fern Lake

This is a very quiet, private property with all the amenities we were looking for. Its location near Middlebury and the Silver Lake hiking trails was particularly favorable for us. Access to the lake for kayaking and swimming was perfect. The kitchen was adequately stocked, and we prepared nearly all our meals there. We had a very enjoyable time and thank the hosts for making their home available!

Nice peaceful playce for 2 couples

This was a much larger house than the pictures let on! Very quiet community, only the occasional car could be heard at night. The views of the stars were wonderful and addictive. We spent most of our time on the deck by the dock and in the screened in porch at night just hanging out and quietly running some music. We really enjoyed our time!

Amazing views, swimming, fishing and very peaceful

We have been renting for 12 years now. This was by far the best place we have stayed. We enjoy the quiet lakes without big boats. Swimming and sitting on lawn or deck was just amazing. Sunrises were spectacular. Fishing was great. Cannot say enough about the communication of the landloard. Always replied back from emails in a quick response. Looking forward to returning.

Amazing Location, very peaceful

This was a great location on a very peaceful lake with amazing views. It was wonderful to fall asleep seeing the mountains in the distance and waking up to the geese on the water. Coffee on the deck or on the docks was a great way to start the day! Conveniently located to Middlebury and Salisbury, where we spent most of our time when we were not at the house. Wonderful experience, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Beautiful lake house!

The photos do not do justice to how large this house is! The house was very spacious and clean. The master is extremely large with a decent-sized bathroom as well. The lake and the dock area are absolutely spectacular. The house is also equipped with large windows everywhere, so you get a beautiful view of the lake no matter where you are sitting in the house. Some of the photos are outdated a bit, however, the photos show the sliding door within the master bedroom, however, the sliding door is in fact in the kitchen leading out to a newer deck, and the master now has a large picture-view window showing the lake (a much better arrangement actually). We did not use the kayaks as we had an infant with us, but they were readily available to use. The owners provided a very detailed list of many things to do in the area, including nearby restaurants, places to get coffee, etc., which was extremely helpful. The screened-in porch is also a plus to enjoy the evening without bugs. There were only 3 of us, but this would a great rental for extended family as there are ample beds and seating for everyone. The Junction Deli is a quick (and scenic) drive which serves great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The check-in process was very easy.

Great location on Fern Lake

The house is large and well-equipped. I think it has been renovated recently with terrific results. The decks, with colorful Adirondack chairs, enable a feeling of calm, solitude, beauty and peace. I thoroughly enjoyed my week there!

Not as good as it looks

Positives: There is a beautiful lake, view, and dock. The kayaks are fun and easy to launch. The kitchen, living room, and master bedroom are decently furnished and functional. The back deck is new. Negatives: The screened porch is dirty, badly furnished, and has nasty screens and doors that give a terrible first impression. This is the entry because the real front door doesn't work. The faucet on one bathroom sink sprays water and cannot be used. The grill was so dirty we could not use it and the lighter did not work. The outside was littered with junk chairs and empty barrels. The teflon on all the non-stick pans was scraped and pitted, leaving a real health hazard. All of these things could be fixed with a small investment by the owners and give guests a much better experience.

Beautiful Lakefront Getaway!

We had a wonderful family vacation on Fern Lake. The water was so clean, clear & warm! We made full use of the all the boats and the boys really got into fishing. I couldn’t get over how quiet and peaceful it was. And there are beautiful green mountain view’s. The house is spacious and clean - we preferred to be outside, but very comfortable when indoors. Looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful, relaxing week on Fern Lake

A wonderful property for a relaxing vacation on lovely, quiet Fern Lake. The house has everything. From reading in the Adirondack chairs on the new deck overlooking the lake to the kayaks and canoe for leisurely paddles on the lake this is a perfect place to get away from it all. The spacious, bright and well stocked kitchen is just right, with the breakfast bar looking out over the lake a great spot to enjoy a long cup of coffee. The wonderful smell of the pine wainscoting and flooring in the dining and living room brings back fond memories of childhood vacations. A perfect Vermont get away.

A wonderful stay!

Our group of 6 (4 adults, 2 teens) loved this property! It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We LOVED the porch with its views of the lake, and we all enjoyed swimming and kayaking. Colin was super easy to contact and was very quick answering any questions we had.
