Ein wunderschönes, privates, charmantes und kunstvolles Seehaus, das mit allen Notwendigkeiten ausgestattet ist, die den See lieben! Auch in der Nähe von Killington, Sugarbush, Okimo und dem Snow Bowl für Winterspaß. Ein Haus im Kapstil mit Sonnenterrasse, Bibliothek mit Smart-TV, WLAN, voll ausgestatteter Küche, Terrasse, Feuerstelle, Dock mit Grill und Kajaks ... Perfekt für einen Wochenendtrip oder eine Langzeitmiete. Sie werden den Charme spüren, sobald Sie ankommen.

Die drei Schlafzimmer befinden sich im Obergeschoss mit einem Vollbad. Es gibt ein Queen-Size-Bett, ein Full-Size-Bett und ein süßes Kinderzimmer mit 2 Einzelbetten. Königin und Zwillinge sind brandneue und äußerst bequeme Matratzen. Im Erdgeschoss finden Sie die Bibliothek, die Küche, den Spielflur und das Familienzimmer mit einem kompletten und einem halben Badezimmer. Auf der Rückseite des Hauses befindet sich eine fantastische Sonnenterrasse mit einer großartigen Aussicht auf das Deck und die Feuerstelle (bitte halten Sie sie klein!). Ein natürlicher Pfad führt hinunter zum See, wo wir 250 'Uferpromenade genießen, ein fantastisches Dock mit einem Grill, 2 Kajaks, Schläuchen und einer Hängematte.

Wir sind zentral zwischen Middlebury und Brandon gelegen und machen alles möglich und leicht zugänglich, einschließlich 2 Lebensmittelgeschäfte, nette Restaurants, Apotheken, lokale Pubs, Gemischtwarenläden, Bauernmärkte, lokale Einkaufsmöglichkeiten im charmanten Middlebury, Weingüter, Brauereien, ein Kino, ein Golf Natürlich tolle Wanderungen und Wasserfälle im 1,5 km entfernten National Forest und vieles mehr.

Das Lakehouse ist technisch gesehen ein Haus mit 5 Schlafzimmern. Derzeit werden 3 für die Gäste angeboten, obwohl Sie das Zuhause natürlich für sich haben würden. Wir können die Verwendung zusätzlicher Räume besprechen, wenn Sie mehr Gäste haben. Das Haus hat auch eine Garage, aber es wird empfohlen, dass die Gäste in der großen, kreisförmigen Einfahrt parken.

Dies ist ein ganz besonderes Zuhause für mich und meine Familie und eignet sich nicht für große Partys, Veranstaltungen oder Frühlingsferien. Es ist perfekt für Familien (Kinder sind in Ordnung!) und Paare, die Vermont vom Feinsten in einer entspannten und ruhigen Umgebung erleben möchten. Wonderful fishing weekend with some friends.

Kate was extremely helpful and accommodating when we needed to adjust the schedule. The property proved a perfect setting for our fishing weekend, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. We spent most of the weekend grilling, fishing, and kayaking on Fern Lake. We tool a quick day trip to Lake Dunmore one day which was very close by. Beds were comfortable, we remembered most of what was needed to get to the second Piston Honda in Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, grilled some great dinners, and caught up. A great weekend.

Lovely family home

We were very comfortable here and the home was charming with a lot of character. If you're an artist or at all musical you will feel extra content - there are guitars and a piano the house seems to encourage creativity. Lots of fun board games as well. It was the heart of winter when we stayed there but the lake looks lovely for the summertime. I saw people shoveling snow and skating if you're up for that, bring skates! Kate was in touch throughout and a kind, welcoming hostess. It's a house that the family uses when it's not rented, so as long as you're ok with that it's a really nice place to be and great for a family.

Inadequate and Overpriced

Inadequate Refrigerator was suitable for 2 people, not 6 and was 1/2 filled with owner’s food (open butter, cheese etc). Windows were dirty (sills and panes), only half of them could be opened, it was suffocatingly hot with limited air movement by small, dirty, inadequate fans (Had to borrow fans from friends to be able to breathe); listing said 1 1/2 baths on ground floor - there was only a 1/2 bath. Tub on second floor had you standing in 3 inches of water for your shower….we addressed this with liquid plumber that helped a bit. Deck was peeling or devoid of paint. No room in food pantry for our own food (due to food stocked by owner) so ants got into our food stored on counter near sink. When we removed food to dining room sideboard the ants moved to the upstairs bathroom. Grill was located near dock so food had to be carried down to water’s edge, cooked, and then carried back up to house to eat. NO SMOKE DETECTORS OR CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS! I Have taken my family on numerous vacations over the past 45+ years and never have I paid so much for such poor furnishings and accommodations. My only thought is that the owners stay here in winter and did not consider the comfort of visitors in the summer months. The cost to me of over $8300 for 2 weeks was ridiculous! I will say my grandchildren enjoyed the kayaks, fishing from the dock, and hiking down to the water’s edge. The owner did respond quickly to remove a hornets nest that threatened the family’s path to the dock.

Ann, we are very surprised by your incredibly negative review as we are the most popular rental house on our lake! (It is also the lowest priced rental house in its category at $450 a night. You and your family stayed for 2 weeks.) We are sorry that your stay was not as expected, but had you responded to our communications we could have handled a lot of these issues very easily. To address some of your complaints for future renters so they are not misled… 1- The refridgerator was broken by the guest staying just before you and we quickly replaced it (and it is a full size btw) before your stay. The very expensive new, new fridge is being delivered late this month. There is also only 1 drawer that is dedicated to owners items. And the condiments are left for everyone to use so that guests do not need to purchase everything for their stay. People usually appreciate that. AC- There are two fans in each room and windows in every room that open. Many homes in VT do not have central AC and this is made very clear in the listing. Ants- VT Flood 7/2023. As far as the ants are concerned we have NEVER had that problem and I can only assume that they were pushed out of their house and home as were many other Vermonters. Bathrooms- The listing is very clear that there are 1 and 1/2 baths. It does not state, as you misread, where they are located in the home. And as far as the shower is concerned the information packet advises guests to keep shower pressure (it is VERY good) low so that the tub will not start to fill up. Smoke Detector- There is a smoke/carbon monoxide detector located immediately in the front hall of home. Deck needs a repaint- Yes it does. You are correct. However 2021 was the year that we restored and painted the exterior, and last spring 2023 was the year that we restored and repainted the entire downstairs. “Poor furnishings”- This comment has us very perplexed and I feel it is almost humorous, as our home (apart from a super comfy squishy older couch in the library/TV room) is chock full of beautiful antiques and brand new mattresses. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. Is it a hotel? No it’s is not. It is someone’s comfortable and spacious VT lake house. We have thrilled renters with each visit and have many return guests yearly. Best of luck with your next home rental. In the future , I would recommend perusing listing pages and photos before choosing a rental and/or reviewing one.

Fern Lake is truly a special spot

There aren't many rentals on Fern Lake so we were super happy to find Kate's listing. It is such a peaceful spot and feels removed from the rest of the world. Great swimming, beautiful trees, sunsets, and loons. Loved eating outdoors on the deck. Loved the walk down to the water and the quiet neighbors. Swimming area could be improved only by a set of steps into the water from the dock. Kate's house is very spacious and low-key comfortable. Be advised that this house is filled to the brim with family things. That may have been the only drawback---finding space for our groceries in the kitchen as every cupboard was jam packed. Thanks to Kate for offering a special spot!

Nice and quiet

This is a nice property, right on the lake. You really can’t see the neighbors, and the woods are thick enough to make you feel alone. The house is large, and there is a great screened in porch and deck on the back. We spent a lot of time on the porch, breezes were great. No AC, but it was cool enough at night that it didn’t matter. Fans are provided. Communication with host was great, Kate checked in with us multiple times, and answered any questions while on-site quickly. Only caution is about the path to the water. It’s pretty steep at some spots, and is switch back style. My wife and I both managed to fall, as the leaves and whatnot that fall on the path make some parts slippery. Just take your time, although you won’t want to when you see the view from the dock. Sitting there with your feet in the water is a pleasant thing to do!

Love it!

Very clean, kitchen is well-equipped, any weekend bakers/cook will be happy. Bedrooms on the small side, if you're OK squeezing, all good. Very clean and comfy. Fantastic property on a beautiful lake

Our family loved our stay here! The house is gorgeous and has everything one would need for a vacation. Games, musical instruments and even a Nintendo that brought us back to our youth! The lake is amazing and perfect for kids because there are no fast boats on it, mostly just kayakers. The swimming is good and there are small boats to use. The path down to the lake is very nicely maintained and the lake views from the deck and inside the house are beautiful. The property is spacious with some nice lawns and a good fire pit we used to roast s'mores. Central location in the state and lots of nice hikes nearby. Kate was extremely helpful and always available by text. We'd love to come back!

Peaceful Escape on Fern Lake

We had a lovely week at this house on Fern Lake. The lake is quiet and beautiful. The house is very comfortable and interestingly decorated with lots of character. We enjoyed eating on the deck, or if the bugs were out using the screened-in porch. We also enjoyed the games and jigsaw puzzles. There are kayaks and it’s very relaxing to kayak around the lake. The dock came with some other water tubes that were fun to float in. It was hot the week we were there but the fans helped a lot.

Little slice of heaven

This house is more charming even than the photos show. It has everything you need- very well stocked kitchen with even a standing mixer and blender. The dock has rafts and tubes to float on and two kayaks. There is a fire pit and a deck and lots of sitting areas to read and rest, tons of games and puzzles. It does get a bit warm for sleeping but fans help. The lake has lot of fish that are easy to catch. Relaxing and fun place for families.

Great Lake house!

We loved staying here. The location is perfect right on the lake with kayaks and Nature, so peaceful. There is no AC in this house so being able to swim In the lake was great! The house has a lot of character and is completely accommodating. The owner Kate was very responsive and we would go again! Great getaway! Perfect location!

Summer idyll

Beautiful, lakeside, and private! Outside and inside spaces are well equipped, spacious and comfortable for a crowd and a beautiful lake view is a bonus.

Wonderful, peaceful lake home

My family had a wonderful time!! The owners maintain the home beautifully with many unique touches. Start your day admiring the lake from the sun porch or back deck. It's a short decline to reach the lake, but absolutely worth it. The dock and crystal clear water make for ideal swimming and diving. Only kayakers and canoers play on the lake which makes the lake extra quiet and relaxing. We went out on the kayaks several times, but mostly enjoyed swimming. We enjoyed the short hike to the Falls of Lana and Silver Lake- both are few minutes away from the home. And of course a trip to the Ben & Jerry factory made the trip extra sweet. I absolutely recommend a stay at this lake home.

Enjoyed our stay here House was nice fully equipped with everything Lake was crystal clear great for swimming Has some problems with mill foil along edges there is a couple of kayaks and tubes we used only found 1lifejacket Pretty good hill down to lake House is located near some good hiking / mountain biking trails Plenty of breweries and such nearby Nice country store with everything Only complaint is the queen bed was sagging in the middle
