While on our flight to Hawaii I received an email stating that the condo we booked wasn't available because of construction in the condo and we would need to stay in a different condo. We specifically chose this condo to be close to and have a view of the ocean. We ended up with condo facing the main road that was loud with traffic and emergency vehicles virtually every night.

Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for the last-minute change to your accommodation due to an unexpected renovation delay. We had been advised earlier in the week that the home would be ready; unfortunately, an unforeseen issue required a temporary relocation. To accommodate your family of 8, we secured a four-bedroom residence within walking distance of Poipu Beach Park and the Hyatt. Once your original ocean-view condo became available two days later, we offered to move you back, and at that time you indicated the alternate location was working well and chose to remain there. Our team checked in with you throughout your 11-night stay, and no concerns were raised during that time. While we understand the inconvenience of relocating, we did our best to provide suitable alternatives and appreciate you sharing your experience.

Spacious unit, great Poipu location

We had a great stay, the unit is quite large and enjoys top floor view. HUGE lanais were a real plus. Comfy beds which is always critical but often under appreciated. Unit needs some updating however and shows it’s age in terms of appliances, furnishings and some appointments. AC in bedrooms but far too noisy to actually use but also not critical unless in summer I think. Overall tho the spaciousness and location and property amenities combine to make this a good choice. Oh and lots of beach paraphernalia for use which was great.

Perfect!

Everything at this property was perfect! The communication with the front desk from the time of booking through the end of our stay was exceptional! Unit 44 specifically is absolutely accommodating for all of your needs! It is extremely spacious and has everything that you need to enjoy your stay from towels and beach equipment to everything in the kitchen and is fully equipped where you don't need to worry about bringing anything! The air conditioning in the bedroom is a very nice addition....we traveled with a family of 5 and had more than enough space. We were concerned with the views as that is sometimes misrepresented with pictures online but it is beautiful! The grounds are kept very nicely and the location is great. If we can make the trip over here again we would definitely stay here! Thank you again to the front desk for all of your hospitality!

Truly stunning setting and views. Beautiful open concept with incredible patio spaces overlooking ocean. Quiet and tranquil. The listing photos of the views are spot on...incredibly picturesque. Great double master bedroom suite set up with large bedrooms. The kitchen is stocked with anything you will need if you prefer to stay in and cook. This was perfect for our stay for our daughter's wedding. We hosted the bridal party the morning of the wedding for the big preparation....hair, makeup, and donning the dresses. Plenty of space and great lighting and yes, stunning views to calm the pre-wedding jitters. The home is very well maintained given it is 40 years old. The bathrooms need renovation but are functional. We absolutely would stay here again. We will cherish the memories.

Bait and switch - not property advertised

We booked this property and a month before our stay, we were notified that there was a malfunction in the property (top floor penthouse) and given two choices. Neither choice was close in quality of the original property but as we were a month out from our trip and lodging options were slim, we chose one with a decreased number of bedrooms (from 2 to 1). When we arrived and checked into the property (not this one listed but the new one), it looked nice on the surface but looks can be deceiving. To begin, the lock on the FRONT DOOR consisted of a twist knob and privacy latch; this doorknob is one you would typically find on a BATHROOM door or a BEDROOM door and is by NO MEANS meant to provide the safety and reliability needed in a front door lock. It was flimsy, old and ridiculously laughable. Next, items advertised as available in the property were either not there, not in good working order or not easily accessible. Within the first 15 minutes of arrival, I had to call property management three times to locate items in description - beach towels, beach chairs (in outside locked boiler room on lanai) and sheets for the murphy bed. In terms of the murphy bed, the bed had sheets on it when we pulled it down and I questioned whether or not they were clean (as the description stated it would NOT have sheets on it and we would need to utilize sheets found in the property). Housekeeping first stated they were, in fact, dirty and they would come and change them and then called back saying they were, in fact clean, and to utilize them. Still only having a fitted and top sheet with no comforter nor pillows, these also needed to be tracked down through phone calls to property management. The new property was ONLY $200 less than the original property. This is completely unbelievable, especially given the decrease in both number of bedrooms as well as top floor vs ground floor. Not only was this new property not worth the cost we paid but we were upcharged based on the change in MAY instead of charging us what the property was priced at back in March when we made our original booking. This is why I believe this was a "bait and switch" situation, focusing on the fact that we were not staying an entire week. Our belief is that the reservation was cancelled and rebooked to another party, willing to stay entire week (to gain more profit); we saw activity in the original property (we could see the lanai from ours), proving it was habitable, as otherwise claimed.

Aloha Heather, we do understand that this was a frustrating, but you have to understand this was more than a “malfunction” in the property”. This was a major pipe leak and subsequent damage was done resulting in an entire bathroom be removed. We were glad you we were able to host you in another unit albeit smaller. That was your choice as I see we offered you several 2BD options and one 3BD as well. We appreciate your understanding. The front door is the same in all the units and does provide security. Also, the unit has a door latch as well to provide added security. You never spoke to “Housekeeping”, you spoke to our Front Desk the entire time. There are no descriptions anywhere stating you would have to make your own bed and you were never told linens were dirty. All calls are recorded for such things as this and I see we guided you to the beach chairs etc., explained that you can use the bagged blankets if you needed them in addition to what was on the bed and we explained that we did indeed make the bed fresh for your arrival. You were indeed booked in this unit (44) and the one-bedroom is more expensive as it is more upgraded. I see no where in any of the charges were you were charged more and in fact in the end it was less as you noted above. The activity you saw was the demolition and other work going on an in fact to this day the unit is still offline (August 25, 2021). The fact that you think we moved you for a better booking is insulting.

Perfect!

This place has everything you want in a vacation rental. The view is amazing. You can easily watch the sunset each night from the gigantic, wrap around lanai. It is within walking distance of restaurants, bars and shopping. I can’t think of one bad thing to say about this property. I will definitely try to book it again on my next visit to Kauai.

Felt like home

We were so comfortable in our condo that we didn't want to leave! Incredible views and well appointed kitchen (We only ate out once in 6 days). Lots of space too!

Best unit in the complex!

Really enjoyed our stay, I loved the condo and the complex, it's one of the nicer/smaller ones in the area and the grounds are really well maintained. The condo was awesome, top floor with a very big lanai overlooking the pool area and great view of the ocean and nightly sunset right from the balcony. It's huge, two large master suites that were a little outdated on decor but overall very nice. Liked the cooktop in the kitchen and the fact that it had a grill, didn't think I would use it but I definitely did as their is no BBQ at the unit and the ones by the pool require charcoal. Good AC in the bedrooms and just a great space!

Wonderful Stay

We completely enjoyed our stay. The condo was very comfortable for our large family. The staff provided a bottle of Champagne for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and that was a very nice touch. They had a lovely doughnut/coffee breakfast on Friday morning that was wonderful. We really enjoyed the beautiful pool, close walk to the ocean and lovely views. The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of good shopping and restaurants close by. This suite was perfect for a wonderful trip to Hawaii. We were blessed.

Nice place with decent views

While I was hoping that this would be right on the beach, there is one more building (in the same complex) that is between here and the water. It had little bearing other than not being able to hear the waves. This is a very clean and comfortable place for two couples. Highly recommended.

Unit 44.

We have stayed at this property several times and have always enjoyed the grounds and area. Our unit was 44. It was nice but needs to be upgraded. Second bedroom furniture was not arranged very well. Doors need maintenance. Air conditioning in master bedroom did not work very well. We would choose another unit that had more upgrades and air conditioning.i
