This lovely cottage is set on the beautifully landscaped grounds of a traditional old Bajan family home. This cozy self-contained accommodation is extremely spacious and securely gated with a lovely breezy private patio and features lush tropical gardens. Literally under 5 minutes walk down to the gorgeous Accra (Rockley) beach, the new South Coast Boardwalk, numerous shops, restaurants, pubs, beach bars, nightlife and the popular Quayside and Lanterns Malls. The cottage interior is tastefully furnished including spacious bedroom with large queen bed and split system AC, ceiling fans, ensuite bathroom, 5G high-speed WIFI, fully outfitted full-size kitchen and appliances, Flat screen colour TV with comprehensive cable package, digital radio, landline telephone, washer/dryer and private parking inside the grounds.
We use good quality linens, bath and beach towels, shampoo & conditioner, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, gas BBQ, cooler and beach chairs - so you literally have everything you need while staying at the cottage!
A detailed information package is also provided in the cottage to help you enjoy your holiday to the fullest. This property has all the conveniences of home and comes with pretty much everything you will need for a great holiday in beautiful Barbados!!!

Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and everything needed to cook and eat. Gas grill was super easy to use, love the front porch! Great location, easy walk to the beach and many restaurants. Loved it!

Firstly the host Susan was a star from start to finish.She answered all my queries immediately and gave us confidence pre visit.The apartment was as described but exceeded our expectations.It was fully stocked with towels and we were impressed by everything in the flat.Due to our late departure flight time we asked if we could check out later than first agreed and again Susan was agreeable to this .To summarise we loved our visit to Newstead and would definitely like to return

Well appointed cottage 5 minutes walk to beautiful Rockley Beach. Nice being so close to shopping, restaurants and transportation. Susan was a very responsive and friendly host. Had some recommendations for us which were great. The cottage is clean, comfortable and very peaceful. Would definitely recommend and book again!

Good location

Charming cottage with everything we need. Clean and tidy. Excellent host. The only disadvantage is the lack of pavement right outside the property which can be a bit hazard walking back at night.

Thanks for your review Hazel - was that after a few rum punches? 😄 Although sidewalks are not universal in Barbados, there is a very bright streetlight right outside our gates. The trick is to always walk facing the traffic and know that cars are always considerate to pedestrians. You could take the flashlight with you next time if that would help. I'm happy to hear you loved the cottage and fully enjoyed your stay!

Such a beautiful and romantic getaway

Had a wonderful time at this amazing property in Barbados. Susan and Paul were fantastic hosts - providing great support and advice when we needed it and otherwise leaving us to our own devices. Needless to say, very romantic and relaxing! Would have no hesitation recommending this property to anybody looking for a charming, central, and private holiday in Barbados.

Charming cottage for your Barbados stay

Stayed at this cottage for nine nights while I attended a wedding in Barbados. It's a charming cottage in a great location. It's far enough away from the main thoroughfare that you don't hear traffic but close enough that a ten-minute walk will bring you to Accra Beach, restaurants, a mini mart or a quick van ride in either direction to more attractions. The cottage is very tidy and comfortable, with air conditioning in the bedroom and a sweet patio for breakfast or drinks in the evening. Could easily accommodate a couple (I was alone).Host is very responsive and friendly. I had a great stay!

Cozy cottage with all the comforts of home

Charming cozy character cottage with everything you could possibly need and more! Outdoor space overlooking gardens with nice breeze and privacy. Very clean and comfortable! Great home in perfect location

We were very impressed with the property. Beautifully situated inside the gardens of the main house and only 5 minutes away from the lovely beaches of Rockley. The Property is well equipped with a lovely kitchen, huge fridge and comfy sofas and bed. Air conditioning in the bedroom was a real bonus too. It was nice to have all the extras provided in the kitchen and bathroom ( such as soap and flannels ) and it was a pleasure to have the lovely Claire who came and cleaned twice a week.

Susie the owner was very communicative, comfortable bed & AC and really a 10 min walk to rockley beach. 2 big rooms but toilet broken (fixed day 3), electric kettle broken, back room entrance gate to garden unlocked, no instructions, loud 3-5am rooster next door, very loud all night when downpour fell on roof, and front gate hard to move and lock w chain and padlock.

Lovely garden cottage

Have stayed in multiple situations in Barbados and this is a great selection. As described, low key self catering. Set in the back of the garden is the 1 bed cottage. Short walk to the beach, and local shops, bank etc. We enjoyed our stay very much. Don't let this put you off but if say you had young children...playing in the yard? Sure. Walking to the beach / shops? Be careful! The only draw back is the road outside is quite fast, narrow and there is no footpath. So crossing carefully and staying out of the roadway is key.

Wundervolle Ferienunterkunft

Einen sehr großen Anteil am Gelingen unseres traumhaften Urlaubes hatte dieses reizende Appartement. Es bietet alles was man braucht. Die Küche ist sehr gut für 2 Personen ausgestattet ( es stand sogar ein Päckchen Instant-Kaffee bereit ). Alles ist sehr sauber und wird zwei Mal pro Woche gereinigt, samt Handtüchern und Strandliegetüchern, die vorhanden sind. Das Cottage liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Einer der schönsten Strände auf Barbados, Rockley bzw. Accra Beach, ist in nur 3 Gehminuten zu erreichen. Es war wundervoll morgens die Kolibris, die im Garten herumfliegen, zu beobachten und abends den pfeifenden Fröschen zu lauschen. Susan hat unsere kleinen Defizite der englischen Sprache ausgeglichen, indem sie die ganzen Termine wie Katamaran fahren, Schnorcheln, U - Boot fahren etc , für uns telefonisch arrangiert hat. Sie kümmert sich sehr um das Wohl ihrer Gäste, ist dabei aber niemals aufdringlich. Zwei Supermärkte sind entweder zu Fuß in 20 oder mit dem Bus in ca 5 Minuten inklusive kurzer Gehstrecke bequem zu erreichen. At last, we thank you Susan for your kindness, your help and your delicious banana bread and the recipe. We had a wonderful stay that we will never forget!

We had a wonderful stay! We highly recommend the accommodation, you find everything you need and you feel like0 home. The queen-size bed is very comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedroom works great. Big fridge and freezer. We were lucky to stay during the mango season and were invited to take mangos from the wonderful big tree in the backyard every day. The porch is very nice to sit in with a lovely view into the garden.The apartment is located very close to beautiful Rockley Beach. There are many restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and it’s not far to Bridgetown by bus or van. Susan is a very nice host; we felt very comfortable and would come back anytime.

Great little hideaway cottage

We loved our stay at Newstead Cottage. The relaxed vibe, lush garden and cosiness of the interior come across even better than photos. Normally we stay in a hotel, but in covid-regulated times it was a welcome change to have a tranquil place where we could switch off, listen to birdsong and the odd cockerel crowing... it felt much more like we blended in to Bajan life. The kitchen was superbly equipped with a huge fridge so we could comfortably fix breakfast. Other nice touches were the bedroom air conditioning, comfy bed and clean en suite shower room. Communication with the owner Susan was quick and friendly; there was no housekeeper but full change of linen including beach towels was all left there. We loved how close the cottage was to our favourite beach, Accra. We rented beds and shades from both the hotel and also Tiki Bar. We recommend Baby Doll on the boardwalk for breakfast, Shakers for the ribs, Champers for a special occasion, and Tiki Bar for lunch, the view and watching the world go by. We'd definitely come back.

Perfect Getaway

First time in Barbados and our expectations have been surpassed. Property is wonderful, good location, 5 mins from the beach and well looked after by the housekeeper Claire. Don’t stay in a hotel, rent a property like this, the experience is so much better!!Few tips, Shakers and Tapas for food, Top Cars for car rental and Cool Runnings for a Catamaran trip. All in all a perfect holiday and thank you for letting us stay in Newstead Cottage. The Frosts x

Perfect location to the best beach

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage on our first ever trip to Barbados. It was perfectly located, a quick walk to the beautiful Accra Beach and an even shorter walk to the best restaurant we experienced during our stay, Shakers. Susan was very responsive on email, and Claire was helpful with changing linens and keeping things clean. There was a bit of a mosquito issue after some rain which was a little annoying, but Susan and Claire were both responsive to the issue. We'd certainly consider staying again on a future visit. Thanks Susan and Claire!

NewStead Cottage

Defo revisit Newstead Cottage and its 5 mins walk from Acra beach Loved it !!

Enjoyable stay

We had an extremely enjoyable stay at the cottage. Very quiet and comfortable, great location and 3 mins walk to beach!

Paradise in a home away from home

Mine and my family’s stay in the Marine Gardens was nothing short of spectacular. The property is wonderful and the proximity to the beach quickly washed away life’s stresses. I would recommend my most valued of friends to spend their vacation there as the time we spent was unforgettable. Communication with the landlord was quick and helpful whenever we had any questions about the property, and we were given no opportunities for a negative response to any part of the experience. I would give it 6 stars if I could.
