Perfect hot summer getaway. Clean and fresh accommodations with up-to-date appliances and furnishings. Only minutes from Blowing Rock but view from wrap-around porch suggested only a pristine nature. Our dog loved it too. Only drawback was the hairpin turn necessary to enter the driveway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this secluded cabin. It was so quiet and the covered deck was ideal for sitting outside. Even during a one hour rainfall, we were on the deck. The cabin was very roomy for two of us and would have been fine for four. The host was east to communicate with and all instructions were clearly written. The location was great!

Yes, clean. Friendly, helpful host. Awesome location. On the side of a mountain and just a few miles from town. Even provided sheets for coverage for the dog. Enjoyed every day sitting on the deck.

This mountainside cabin provided everything as described. It is a quaint secluded stay for just winding down. As others have mentioned, the drive in is a little intimidating the first time but as you learn to manage the switchbacks its not that bad. Several GPS maps indicate that if you are coming from Lenoir, you have to go to Blowing Rock and come back; this isn't the case - you can make a left turn off of 321. We "hiked" to Greene's Trading Post; even though its a short distance, it does get the cardio up. We went to Blowing Rock to walk around and eat lunch; we took our dog with us and found The Town Tavern's outside patio to be wonderful. We were only there two nights and chose to eat in both nights and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our one afternoon had 3-4 hours of rain; probably around 3". But we just sat on the covered porch and enjoyed the rain (having been in a drought it was really nice); and the rain did not affect the road at all. Beth was easy to communicate with before, answering all my questions.

This is a perfect getaway cabin. Clean, well appointed and offers terrific views. The gravel driveway is steep so if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, take that to the cabin.

This was pretty much a perfect mountain cabin for me, my wife and our two dogs. We rented the cabin because we needed to get away from fireworks on July 4th. The views are beautiful. The deck is outstanding. It had been a long time since I was able to sit outside and not hear any human induced noise. The silence was beautiful. The fireflies and the stars were awesome at night.The kitchen is well stocked. We only used the king bed, and it was great. It was extraordinarily hot the weekend we were there. The air conditioning was perfect. The pictures and description on the ad are accurate. We found it even better than the ad. The host was very friendly, gave us lots of information, and was easy to connect with.The gravel road to the house is steep & winding. We have a 4-wheel-drive Hyundai Tucson and we had absolutely no problem navigating it. We could have navigated it with front wheel drive given the dry conditions. Our only "complaint" was not finding a trail to walk the dogs right by the houseThe house is 4 miles from Blowing Rock, but if you didn't know that, there is nothing that would suggest there is a tourist town nearby. Blowing Rock is a bit too busy for us. We drove 10 minutes down the hill towards Lenoir and found a wonderful Pizza/brew pub- the Happy Valley Filling Station that was not crowded on July 4th weekend. The food was excellent. Even better was that the lounge is dog friendly, so we could sit inside. With food coming from the restaurant next door.

My wife and had an amazing time here. This was exactly what we wanted for a long weekend getaway in the mountains.Cabin was cozy, clean, well stocked, and well taken care of. The host was extremely friendly and easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Great secluded spot for a getaway but highly recommend you have a high clearance vehicle or 4WD in the winter months

The best part of this cabin is the covered deck with a nice Mountain View. The gravel road to the cabin is narrow and rough and a 4 wheel drive would be helpful .

Great secluded stay!

We stayed here for a week and had a great time. The cabin is very secluded and a great place to relax without any disturbances. The cabin is very clean, well-stocked and has anything that you might need. Beth was a great hostess and we hope to come back again!

Peaceful weekend!

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at the Mountainside cabin! The back deck with the view of the mountains was the best. Well stocked and had everything we needed to feel at home.

Perfect getaway

I really enjoyed tge seclusion and solitude of this cabin. Still close enough to enjoy Blowing Rock and Boone, but far enough away to be a palace of solitude!

That is also precisely what we like about Mountainside-Very secluded and quiet, yet just minutes away from the charming town of Blowing Rock with its fabulous restaurants, unique little shops, trout pond, the historic Glenn Burney hiking trail, and beautiful park complete with Pickle ball courts and gardens! Being so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway means access to amazing trails with waterfalls, Nearby Boone offers that energetic college-town vibe, local craft breweries, Stick Boy Bakery, and the iconic Mast General Store. Relaxing getaway
