Der ursprüngliche antike Teil des Hauses umfasst das Wohnzimmer im ersten Stock mit nicht funktionierendem Kamin, ein Spielzimmer und eine moderne Küche, die zum großzügigen zweistöckigen Familienzimmer mit enormem Tageslicht und Zugang zum Achterdeck und zum privaten Garten offen ist.

Die zweite Etage der Antike verfügt über ein großes Schlafzimmer mit Blick auf die Straße mit Doppelbett, großer Kommode, Beistelltisch und begehbarem Kleiderschrank. Das Schlafzimmer ist über einen Flur über eine Vordertreppe oder eine Hintertreppe erreichbar. Ebenfalls im zweiten Stock befindet sich ein kleines Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, Beistelltisch, Kommode und Ostfenster. Auf der anderen Seite des Flurs befindet sich das dritte Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten und einem Alkoven-Doppelstockbett in Jugendgröße. Großzügiger Einbauschrank und Schubladen machen längere Aufenthalte einfach und bequem.

Abgerundet wird der zweite Stock durch ein renoviertes Badezimmer mit Fliesenboden, neuer Dusche, Toilette und Toilette. Vom Badezimmer aus ist durch die gewölbte Öffnung ein Bad-Loungebereich mit Sofa und Schrankablage zugänglich. Das Zimmer wird durch ein Buntglasfenster und eine Tür zum Sitzbalkon mit Blick auf das Familienzimmer hervorgehoben.

Die oberste Etage ist ein en-suite Studio mit Kingsize-Bett, Sitzecke mit Tisch, Couch-Leseecke, begehbarem und verspiegeltem Schiebeschrank, komplettem Badezimmer mit wunderschönem Skylit-Feeling. Das Studio hat einen halbprivaten Eingang von der Vordertreppe - Eingangsfoyer und eine eigene Hintertreppe für den Notausgang zur Hintertreppe des Hauses mit gemeinsamem Zugang zum ersten und zweiten Stock.

Dieses Haus kann flexibel als Familienunterkunft mit Platz für einen Gast oder für zwei oder zwei separate Gästebuchungen (nur Haus oder 3. Etage, nur Bad) genutzt werden. Amazing historical house, complete with antique furnishings. Even a piano (I play) with a great "old" tone to it. The backyard and firepit are so relaxing with a great view of stars. You can walk to an amazing breakfast place and restaurants, as well as the water. Perfect!

Please accept our invite to stay again in the future. The piano came with the house and we have 50-100 player piano scolls that came with it. Your playing it and gracious descritpition are encouraging us to to take the piano more seriously. I am going to see if it can be revived to play the scrolls.

Such a quirky, fun house! Our whole family enjoyed exploring the town which is very close walking distance, and relaxing on Front Beach. And we loved peaceful evenings at the house borrowing from the great selection of books. It was perfect!

Lovely old home with modern amenities! Walking distance to the wharf and lovely shopping streets, as well as footpaths to beautiful views. Amazing location for Rockport experience

Walking distance to Bearskin neck and beaches, short drive to all Cape Ann has to offer (Halibut Point, Dogtown, etc.). The house is fun and funky and comfortable. We had a great stay!

Great stay! Great location!

Great place to stay! We enjoy how easy it is to walk to Bearskin Neck and front beach. Well supplied with everything we needed (bath,kitchen, etc.). Kids enjoy the 3 levels to this house as it gives them their own space.

What a beautiful home! Perfectly attired/ we had everything we needed. Comfortable, clean, great location with off street parking. It was so easy to stay here! Owners are thoughtful and communicative. Will definitely look to return!

Family vacation

Great location walkable to shops and restaurants downtown as well as some beaches. Some challenging stairs or ceiling heights for larger/taller adults, however the uniqueness and charm outweigh the tight spots. My kids thought they were exploring Hogwarts and they loved it.

Rockport Family Vacation

This was a great house for a large group; we were nine with 4 kids. There was plenty of room to spread out and lots of space to cook and prepare meals. It was lovely to be within walking distance to everything in Rockport. The home itself was charming and had a cottage-y, well-loved feel.

Stop and smell the flowers

Very nice home. I love a good bath. The jetted tub in the master suite was much appreciated. Lovely backyard. When you step outside you can smell flowers in the yard and along the street. No need to drive at this vacation spot. In walking distance to a variety of waterfronts,shops, and restaurants. I was concerned a bit about no central AC but the home stayed cool and comfortable even during a couple day heat advisory. There are AC units that worked well. Would recommend as well as stay again

Great home in a wonderful place!

The house is charming. There are so many windows. It’s full of light and just a happy place to stay. The location is wonderful-so close to Bearskin Neck. The owners quickly replied to any questions and checked in with a message during the stay. The home has all the amenities we needed. We loved it!

We were a multi generational family staying together and participating in a wider family gathering. The ability to be in a home rather than a hotel made our time together more congenial. Great location in cute town!

We stayed in partridge house with our 9 year old twins and 60 year old parents and there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. The location was perfect and we walked into town multiple times per day, either to the beach or for shopping or for dinner and ice cream. The owners were super easy and nicely provided some good coffee (plus some condiments and spices and teas to get us started). The backyard was even nicer than photos as there was a table for 4 on the porch (we squeezed kids in no prob) and some relaxing chairs in the yard. Would definitely stay again!

Partridge House

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was just wonderful. It was a Home that we could imagine Fisherman or lobster man and their family living. The property was advertised as just steps from beaches and shops and it was true we walked downTown to the shops and to the beaches. The streets and the beaches were clean and well manicured. The shops were wonderful all in all we had a great time and look forward to returning.

New Year's Wedding

Well situated- walking distance from the ocean. This home suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of room for 6 adults with lots of stuff to do. The owners were responsive to our questions, Other than a snafu getting into the home, everything else went well.

Charming and spacious home

It was a good stay overall plenty of room for our five adults and four children! It was very very hot, 90+ degrees every day which made the house also very hot even with air conditioning. The location of the house was unbeatable. Less than a five minute walk to bearskin neck. Very quiet street, plenty of room, plenty of charm in the house itself. We were very pleased!

Thanks for the comment about heat and for your enjoyment of the house. We realize the heat wave was a challenge both for you as guests and for us where we don't have a house with central air-conditioning. Generally, we have had success with the AC in the two large bedrooms, managing window openings, and use of fans but that's not an excuse for what you experienced. We are looking more closely at our future options for creating a house environment that is more comfortable in all conditions, and it's guest feedback that helps us assess with more clarity.

Andy is an Architect who works in Boston. Dorothy is a UX Designer. We are both MIT alums and we have three adult daughters, all of whom have contributed in creating the Partridge House experience.

The house is on one of the original streets with a great variety of house styles. The mix of the old and new in Partridge House, albeit eclectic, is in keeping with the Rockport atmosphere. The house is just far enough away from busy downtown to feel relaxed, yet close enough for a quick jaunt to get into the midst of the town's attractions. We've already met many of our neighbors and the connections are beginning to strengthen our love for this town. We are enthusiastic about our place and look forward to nurturing and sharing its unique qualities.

Partridge House is not cookie-cutter, beige-neutral, developer lux style, or pristine. The house is a home, not a business. When you're not there, we enjoy as our shore getaway and it reflects our personal tastes with hallmarks to its past from the 1800's. Partridge House is slowly evolving and improving to ensure that it remains a great place for the next 200 years.
