Das Anavo Farm Retreat befindet sich im Herzen der Weinregion Santa Ynez im ruhigen Dorf Ballard. Es ist nur eine Radtour nach Los Olivos und zentral zu allem, was das Tal zu bieten hat, und doch fĂŒhlt es sich abseits der ausgetretenen Pfade an. Dies ist eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, in einem "pinterest-worthy" renovierten GĂ€stehaus zu ĂŒbernachten, in dessen Ferne nur Schafe, Pferde und benachbarte HĂ€hne krĂ€hen. We stayed at this charming sheep farm for New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day, and it was truly a magical experience. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute booking, and everything about the stay felt special. The property is beautiful, with incredible balcony views and the sweetest animals that happily come right up to you. It was such a unique and memorable experience.The thoughtful touches really stood out! complimentary cheese, wine, and snacks, incredibly comfortable bedding, and a space stocked with everything we could have needed. It was cozy, peaceful, and the perfect way to ring in the New Year.The only downside was communication with the host. I reached out prior to the stay with questions about early check-in, late check-out, and whether my child’s age was okay, but mostly received automated messages that didn’t address my questions directly. I also reached out upon check-in and later when the Wi-Fi wasn’t working and didn’t receive a response at the time. The host did eventually respond regarding the eggs and explained that the chickens rest during winter, which was completely understandable.My only concern was that quicker responses would have been reassuring if there had been a more urgent issue, though I do understand this may have been due to the New Year’s Eve holiday. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend it and love to return.

Absolutely charming cottage in a beautiful setting. The owner designed the entire place with a rustic quaint yet modern style creating a relaxing atmosphere. The farm animals on the property, and the friendly visiting dogs, add special fun.

Loved this place,especially the views from the upstairs & deck! Jen was very easy to communicate with & super simple check in. Lovely that we were given a bottle of wine, cheese, snacks & fresh eggs! So nice to hear running water from the fountains while you relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can even feed the animals and pick your own lavender ;-) Close to all surrounding towns and winery's, couldn't be better. Thank You Jen!

This adorable, quiet retreat was just as described in the listing. Everything was perfect, from the lovely grounds, the views, the quaint and extremely well-appointed property, and the thoughtful attention to detail. Perfect Weekend

This was our second visit to Anavo Farms and we can’t wait to visit again! I celebrated my birthday here amongst the beauty and serenity of the farm and all of its’ inhabitants. Jenn is the perfect host and made us feel totally at home. So many cozy touches, a welcoming bottle of wine and an assortment of goodies including delicious cheese and farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed watching the animals in the pasture while having our morning coffee. There’s even food to feed them 
 so much fun. Close to Ballard, Los Olivos and many wineries. This is a very special place and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks again for everything Jenn!

Wonderful get-away

Such a peaceful spot, yet close to all the valley restaurants and wineries. The best part, sitting on the deck with wine and seeing the animals, the mountains, and sunset.

Wine and farm getaway

Wow, where do I start? This was one of the most unique properties we’ve stayed at for an extended wine weekend getaway. When we first arrived we were greeted by goats, llamas, and horses, which in my opinion was a wonderful welcome. The property itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed and decorated throughout. You can tell the owner, Jen really put her time and special touch to make the cottage feel like a special getaway for guests. She was so attentive to all our needs/requests, but still maintained a sense of privacy. In addition to the beautiful surroundings and property, there were special treats when we arrived, including a complimentary bottle of wine, delicious manchego cheese, and a basketful of various snacks. The refrigerator was also stocked with drinks, wine, and, our favorite, farm eggs! Although the kitchen is compact we made several meals during our stay with no problem at all and used the grill to cook dinners and roast some fresh vegetables we picked up from Finley Farms just down the road. The location is perfect and central to Santa Ynez Valley wineries, as well as dining options. We visited many wineries throughout the weekend and our furthest drive was under 30 minutes. Although the property is close to everything it’s still private and quiet. We took morning runs and enjoyed passing by farms, horses, grapevines, and other stunning properties. We had an amazing few days and can’t wait to visit Anavo Farm again soon!

Beautiful property

We loved this place! The deck with views and the animals, the fire pit and the privacy were amazing. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. We were disappointed in the bed. It’s a small queen on a platform on the floor with very little space to tip toe along the side to climb in and out. It’s in a crammed area off to the side of a second upstairs living room. There is a main living room downstairs. It should be a nice big bed in the upstairs with a sitting area to the side. Also could use drapes over the windows as we’re both light sensitive. We loved it, but not having a nice bed is why we can’t give 5 stars.

Centrally Located Tranquil Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Anavo! The house is immaculate and stocked with everything one would need. There were many special touches that you won't find elsewhere. Welcoming wine, snacks, specialty coffee creamer, well stocked kitchen, 2 coffee makers, extensive toiletries, lap blankets, plush bedding, fireplace, TV with multiple streaming options...there are discrete notes throughout the house to help you figure things out as well as a lovely book about the history and use of the house. We would head out everyday for breakfast, come back and relax on the upstairs patio before heading out for wine tasting, shopping, etc. We loved the patios! It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the animals graze in the fields, the breeze blowing through the trees and grass. With all the recent CA rains, everything was so lush and green and just beautiful! Anavo is an ideal location, close to town, wineries, and eateries. Note that you are right next to the owner's private residence, so be respectful of their privacy. Jen was very respectful and considerate of ours. I would definitely stay here again!

Great farmhouse stay

Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.
