We absolutely loved this home! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We were here for a family wedding and felt we had the best accommodations. We were so close to the wedding party hotel, downtown, the river and great restaurants! Super walkable location, easy parking, and the home itself was incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed the adorable front porch, the great rear and side yard as well as a the cozy living areas. Couldn’t have been happier! Highly recommend!

Our family of six was in Petaluma for a wedding and we all wanted to stay together. The Roost was perfect for us. Everything about the home felt warm and inviting. There was plenty of room for us to both spread out and gather for games, meals and relaxation. The kitchen was a highlight; well stocked and ready for use, not to mention, beautiful! The location couldn’t be better, close but not too close, to the center of town. A rare find in our sea of travels!!!!

Wonderful house, location, and owners! We had a great time and appreciated the spacious house, outdoor space, and kid/teen-friendly space!Only hiccup was we thought the photos showed twin beds in one room but there were only queen beds in the whole house. Would return and stay again.

Great home close to everything

The house was perfectly located a block away from shops, restaurants, grocery store, and beer garden. The house was exceptionally cute and comfortable with a fantastic back yard and front porch for people watching! Highly recommend!

This property is truly amazing. If you are a fan of charm, style, and distinctive architecture, this home is for you. And if you like the convenience of restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, a fitness center, and tons of great shopping within 3 blocks of your home, this property can't be beat. I'm already looking for reasons to come back to Petaluma so we can stay here again!

Incredible Property

We absolutely loved our stay at The Roost. The property is incredible. The house was stocked with everything you could need. It feels much bigger and spacious than the pictures. The location is amazing as we could walk to all that Petaluma has to offer. Highly recommend staying here.

We were on a girls trip with 4 women and love staying at The Roost! The location was absolutely perfect, just across the street from downtown where we found so many restaurants and shops nearby. The house is charming and we truly felt like we were staying at another friend's house with all the homey amenities. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms had lots of hooks. We loved all the sitting spaces - in the living room, at the table, around the kitchen island, out back on the patio and also on the deck. It was a great location for wine tasting in Sonoma. I would definitely rent this house again if I am back in the area.

Simply Perfect

From beginning to end, our stay at The Roost was perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, welcoming, and full of everything you need. The house felt more spacious than it appears on the website. Matt and Ginny, the homeowners, were great communicators throughout our stay. It is located in historic Petaluma, within walking distance of everything.

The Roost was the perfect home for our stay in Petaluma. Right on the edge of downtown tucked in between city hall and a quiet neighborhood - walking distance to absolutely everything in town. It struck us a great combo of brand new appliances and facilities in an older house with quirky loving and peaceful decor. Everything was stocked - we were mid-way through our trip to the US (we live in the MidEast) and could have a cup of much needed coffee ready in the kitchen *AND* do our laundry upon arrival in a simple to use new looking machine thanks to laundry soap ready for us. We were able to help prepare fruits & salads for our family event nearby and walk everything over and back as needed throughout the weekend. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment one could imagine and labelled clearly for ease of returning after use. We had more room than we needed for 4 adults to spread out comfortably and organize our travel gear and repack. Thanks to the thoughfulness of our hosts we could iron the suits for the wedding we came to attend and hang them on the plentiful hooks until showtime. We enjoyed the books & games in the house and the ease of access to the house. Beds were super comfy: we slept really well. An extra blanket was appreciated. Really - anything we thought of was ready for us in this house. The back porch of the Roost was our perfect gathering spot in the beautiful weather to share a drink or a meal as we planned our next move. Recommend highly!!!!

We were 3 couples traveling to Petaluma to visit friends and enjoy the wine country. This house was in a great location and we could walk to church, the Petaluma Market, restaurants and we did some shopping. The house was beautifully decorated and had just about everything you wanted and needed. We did notice there was not a microwave and only one TV upstairs. We didn’t miss either one but some people might.There is a bedroom and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs. There is a small nook off one of the bedrooms with the TV and board games. In back they had a small circle of Adirondack chairs and beautiful landscaping. The large deck has a grill but we didn’t use. On the side of the house there is a lovely dining area lit with lights. The owner is very responsive to questions and we would definitely stay here again! Thank you Matt & Ginny for sharing your beautiful home with us.

We had such a wonderful week at this house! It’s the perfect blend of charming and effortless — a fantastic location that’s an easy walk to downtown, yet feels completely hidden away and peaceful. The kids loved the playroom, and the chef’s oven made cooking for our family a total joy. Check-in was seamless, and having a washer/dryer on-site made traveling with kids so much easier.Beyond the house itself, the location was a great home base for exploring the area — we hit the farmer’s market, went kayaking on the Russian River, went horseback riding in Point Reyes, stopped by the Marin cheese shop, and soaked at Morton’s Hot Springs. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot to come back to after a day of adventures. Highly recommend for families!
