Our stay had both positive and negative aspects. The home was generally clean, although it appeared to be cleaned by the host rather than professionally. The house is spacious for large groups, but the kitchen wasn't equipped accordingly. With only two frying pans, we had to cook meals in shifts. The smoke alarm also went off repeatedly while cooking simple foods like scrambled eggs. Although there was a ceiling fan above the stove, it wasn't clean enough for us to feel comfortable using over food. The primary bedroom is a loft with no walls or doors separating it from the family room, which offers very little privacy. The primary bathroom and the courtyard bedroom also lacked window coverings, making both spaces feel exposed. The host was very kind, but check-in lasted 45–60 minutes when a binder and gate code would have been sufficient. The host also entered the property three additional times during our three-day stay, making it difficult to feel we had complete privacy. On the positive side, the location is within walking distance of the University of Oregon. The open kitchen and family room were great for our group, the surround sound was excellent, the water heater easily accommodated 10 people, parking for five cars was a huge plus, and the complimentary beverages and supplies were appreciated.Overall, this property has great potential, but improvements to kitchen equipment and guest privacy would greatly enhance the experience.
