Cozy & Convenient

Great last minute find! Perfect for your teenagers and their buddy’s. The host was super responsive which is awesome. The location is absolutely perfect, zero shuttle required to get to the slopes. Would rent again!

Excellent location, it's our new favorite on the mountain

This condo is very near a lift and couldn't be easier to jump on the slopes. The only complaint I had was the fireplace was not working. Comfortable house for our group of 5.

Kim, thanks for the very nice review. I apologize for the fireplace. They are maintained by our resident manager and he started before ski season to find the part that needed replaced. He could not get it and now promised in April. I believed the Welcome letter (package) you received included that info. Again, I would also have missed it and will even in April (when I plan to go there) as the weather still needs it sometimes just for ambiance. I am glad you enjoyed in spite of that! Nice Snowshoe Condo

We enjoyed our stay at Creola's condo, and she was very pleasant to communicate with! The condo was well stocked and had a nice view. The location was perfect, we walked to the village easily every day. It needs a few updates, but this is typical for the area I think.

I have partially renovated the bathrooms in the last five years; however, the age of the building and the condition of the common water pipes prevented completely renovating. Upkeep and cosmetically is the extent of what can be accomplished in the building. I am doing some additional work (or rather having it done) before 23/24 ski season. Thanks for good report Lisa, please visit again.

Fun times.

Condo was clean and exactly as described. Owner very friendly and reachable. Kids had great time with their cousins at the split rock pool, big top and skiing. Would go again.

My family has never done a Vrbo before. We had the best experience and the communication with the owner. Gene was so perfect for us. Gene was so helpful in every way.

Great spot - lovely for a group - close to village

We had a lovely time at the condo. Its close proximity to the village allowed us flexibility to come and go as we please. The overall structure doesn't have very good sound proofing, only thing we noticed. The owner is wonderful, very helpful and hands on. We would definitely go back!

As you probably could tell, I have no control over the structure of the building; and, hence, the noise. I own the condo to the wallboard. A Cozy place for a winter getaway

Creole’s place had everything we needed for our ski trip. Just a short walk across the street to the slopes. Not as fancy as some of the other condos but very homey. Loved all of the oil paintings and photos of the mountains!! Creola went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. I will stay here again next year!

Teen ski trip

Took our son & his friends for annual skiing trip. This place was great! Liked there were no stairs. Direct access from parking lot. Location amazing. Short walk to the village. Easy for the boys to get to the lifts.

Snow Shoe 2023

The place was warm and cozy. There was a slight delay at check in but the owner was able to get right on it and get it squared away. The location is walking distance to the slopes. The views were amazing, and the afternoon deer sightings were fun for my kids. Will definitely be back.

Summit at Snowshoe

It was perfect ! Very cozy and comfortable. The views were amazing. Kitchen was fully furnished with everything you would need . Good location, beautiful views

This unit is close to the village and the slopes. It was a short walk back at lunchtime to warm up or grab a bite to eat. Three bedroom with a sleeper sofa provided lots of space for our group of 7. Washer and dryer was so nice to freshen up our ski gear after a snowy day on the slopes. Owner was great to work with. Lock box with the key made for easy access for our group.

Ski trip

The Summit condo was great! We had three adults and it fit us perfectly. It will easily accommodate a few more people. It’s very well maintained and equipped. It’s a short walk to the village, ski rental shop and slopes. We never got in our vehicles from the time we got there. Communication with the owner was very good. I highly recommend it.

Ski Trip

The good things about this property include the kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the location was right across the street from the slopes. There were a few concerns. The condo needs updated. The wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom sink was leaking and communication with the owner was good at first but once I tried to report the issue with the sink on day 1, I did not hear back from him. Other than those few things, we enjoyed ourselves.

I am so sorry you did not get a response as I am the one who takes all calls and do not have a record of you calling and me not responding. Sometimes it is a few hours. I did provide a maintenance person's contact, however, they said they did not get a call. I am disappointed that those items resulted in a very low rating. I have reviewed your contacts with me through VRBO and did not find the sink problem so I could not take care of it.

Antiquated but very clean!

Creola’s condo in The Summit was great for what we were looking for. It’s right across from the village main entrance part so you can hike up the 2 flights of stairs or catch a snowshoe shuttle (which really ran very efficiently throughout the trip). Condo was on the main level so no stairs to get in or out which was awesome. It was extremely clean and it was nice having everything made up for us. The decor could definitely use some updating but it has a sort of cabin-y feel with all the wood. As with all the condos, the rooms were a little squished but the beds were comfortable and the living room easily sat 5-6 adults. Having WiFi was great since phone service is non-existent. I had to contact the owner at one point and she got right back to me even though she wasn’t feeling great, which was above and beyond. The dishwasher and traditional coffee maker were broken but there was a keurig and we just hand washed our dishes. Sunsets off the back deck were absolutely gorgeous and there were (plump) deer just hanging out outside which was cool. Overall, it’s a great location to have a condo and we would stay here again.

Thank you for a very thoughtful review. In spite of the problems with the dishwasher and the one coffee maker, you managed to rise above and enjoy your stay. I am sending a small gift to compensate for the inconvenience of the dishwasher - when you want to use the time for fun, that was no fun. Yes, the paneling is a bit dated; however, as you noted it does give the effect of a cabin; and, being in the mountains of WV, I do like that feel. May change it out sometime. Again, thanks and will welcome you back any time. Summer is delightful if you live in a hot area.

Great Ski Trip to Snowshoe

The 3 BR condo is located across the street from Snowshoe Village. Walkable to slopes by Ballhooter lift or Powder Monkey/Cupp Run area. If you have children skiing easy to drop off by bus stop in village if you don’t want to carry skis. An older complex but comfortable with 2 full baths. Kitchen is compact but well equipped and open to the great room. Owner was very responsive and good to work with. Had gas grill but not functioning, this would be an improvement as we had to improvise on steak night. Gas fireplace but also not usable. That would have been nice to have. Good reliable internet connection during our stay. Nice view off the back porch. We had 6 adults and an infant and managed well with the sleeping accommodations and living areas. Overall a comfortable condo with great access to the slopes. We had a fun trip.

I know it was frustrating not being able to use the grill. However, due to someone using the gas grill with charcoal and burning the deck, we had to make it off limits until I can get there and remove it from the deck. Sounds as if I am making excuses and I guess I am. Due to lack of a part that the fireplace store in a city (about 50 miles) could not obtain and said it was due to production and transportation. (Have been waiting since Spring of 2021 for it). So a few of us do not have out fireplaces. Did not go bad in all of them I am pleased that with those unpleasant items, the guests still had a good time! Of course they did nick me a star; I do understand in spite of not being able to correct.

A native of WV, I retired in VA near family after 32 years with government and wanted to have a place to be when the crowded life in and around Northern Virginia became too much. Also, having grown up in WV in Pocahontas Co - had great desire to be back, if only for a little while. Love my mountain retreat and love to share it. Family and friends (new and old) are always welcome! (above picture is of me and my two sons) Both love the mountain almost as much as I do. My younger son Gene Wilson now manages all our condos at Snowshoe

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

As explained above, it is my roots and also this condo has an awesome view of glorious sunsets and also I love to be in it in the snow. Do not ski; but, love to see the skiers. Love to walk in the summer/fall (and hiking is available nearby). My family loves to retreat here when possible also. It is an easy 4 hour drive from Northern Virginia - where I live; and, has just enough activity winter and summer to keep me from being a hermit. So come enjoy skiing and then come back for summer and autumn in Pocahontas County and nearby. Greenbrier River Trail is great for biking and hiking. I am not a long distance hiker anymore; but, do enjoy a mile or two of good walking. Numerous places to visit for a few hours or longer venture in and around Snowshoe. Fly fishing in the Spring in nearby rivers. Lake within Snowshoe offers summertime activities or lunch by the Lake after a ride by the lift from the Village.
