Definitely stay here!

Condo has a stunning view and easy access to the beach (even had a turtle join us for a swim!). Loved everything about this property. We enjoyed the pool/jacuzzi after a day of beach or adventure. The condo was comfortable and was stocked with three beach chairs, umbrella, and snorkel gear. If you are going to stay in Kihei, I highly recommend this location.

Large apartment with lots of space

It's a large apartment with 2 separate bedrooms and another loft room upstairs. A/C is in every room. Lots of equipment for the beach (beach chairs, boogie boards, etc). The property does need a new coat of paint and some fixes here and there, but it didn't spoil our vacation. It was very convenient to have an airfryer in the kitchen.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time with our stay. The condo was clean, comfortable for a crowd and had everything we needed. Easy check in and access to the condo. Lots of space for our big family. Also, it was great having the extras like beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. The condo also had a high chair and playpen so no need to pack that if you have a baby.Overall we had a great stay!

Beach view

This condo is in a great building on the 4th floor with a view of the ocean. The condo is wore out but was clean. We could not sit outside on lanai due to heat from the AC unit. Condo is stocked with everything we needed. No oven, we knew this and it didn’t effect our needs. Needs to be painted and new carpet and over all updated throughout. Price was right.

Great location, but left a lot to be desired

Checking in was great. The people who worked at the condo were great and the grounds were amazing and well kept up. Unfortunately, the condo wasn't great. It looks like some updating has happened, but there is dry rot on some floor boards. The upstairs took quite a bit to cool down. The most frustrating was the heat was unbearable on the lanai- so much that we couldn't sit out on it to enjoy the view. Lastly we found 2 cockroaches upstairs- in the bathroom and closet.

Overall, this is a decent condominium. It is very well equipped and very clean. That said, however, this unit is in sore need of updates and by that I mean a few cans of paint would do wonders if the owners are not able to afford renovations. The kitchen cupboards look dirty but they aren’t. Carpets could be replaced, the lanai carpet to be frank is disgusting. It’s very difficult to open the lanai door. All should be tiled. Existing Baseboards look like they’ve been chewed. The bed in the Master has started to sag. This condo probably has the best ocean view in the complex. Kudos to the cleaning people who keep this place up as best they can.

Wonderful place to stay; has everything you need

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It has a nice view of the ocean, is a short walk to the beach (which is also a great snorkeling spot) and has all the necessities, including beach items (chairs, umbrella, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, etc.). You can walk to a few restaurants (including ice cream and a great cinnamon roll place), although we generally drove into town for our meals (our favorite - Paia Fish Market). The only negative is that the TVs are not smart TVs so you need to bring your own ROKU or Chrome Cast to see your favorite streaming channels. Also, the TV in the main guest room is super tiny and there's no TV in the other bedroom or loft. We did have a leak issue but it was quickly taken care of by the management company (and everyone was really nice). I would highly recommend this condo (and Kamaole Sands in general).

The worst and not worth the money they charged.

The condo has a very nice view of the ocean and close to beach but if you sit on the balcony the exhaust from the AC unit hits you. The living room was much smaller than expected and the loft was extremely hot. I read about the complaints regarding the unit being really hot but did not believe it. After being there for a few days we were sorry we booked the place. The master bedroom bathroom has a very small, tiny AC which made it very uncomfortable for everyone and has no bathtub. The furniture and kitchen was stocked as described. The hottest room is the loft and it is a real shame that they have not listened to the multiple complaints regarding the heat. I have rented many other units and this is the worst and not worth the money they charged.

We are happy to hear that you did enjoy the ocean view and found the kitchen well stocked. The loft does get warmer than the rest of the condo due to it being higher. There are higher windows in the loft, allowing the heat to escape, but I apologize if it was hotter than expected for you. We do experience warm weather all year here in Hawaii, so it can get warm indoors too, even with AC. We hope you do visit the Kamaole Sands again. Mahalo!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Good morning and sorry for the late response. This was our second vacation in Maui and both times staying at the Kamaole Sands, and we very much enjoy the area and the Island. Upon arriving and entering our unit, the cleanliness was not to our satisfaction. There were actual spider webs on top of the lamps, which we took pictures of and showed to the property management, the exterior of the cupboards needing cleaning, and the glass doors to the lanai were not clean as well, with the vented doors on the lanai very dirty also. Furthermore, there were light bulbs burnt out and plumbing problems, but we did call and eventually got those replaced and fixed. Overall the unit requires some TLC and repair. The bath/shower in the loft needs to be replaced/updated, new flooring/tile is required throughout, as I don't understand why anyone would have carpet in a beachside rental unit, and the whole unit requires new paint. Something also needs to be done with the front facing of the counters to the dining/living room area. Overall, while I would recommend the Kamaole Sands to others, I would not recommend the unit we were in at this time.

Stay in Kihei Nov-Dec 2022

The process of renting and paying was very smooth. The condo was clean but the kitchen cabinets are very dirty. I tried to wipe them to no avail. They need replacement. I was extremely surprised to find no oven. Nowhere in the listing does it specify that there isn’t one. With a three bedroom condo, you come with a big group. You need an oven. The countertop air fryer/toaster oven is insufficient. The kitchen was well stocked though with dishes, cutlery etc. The only bathroom with a bathtub is riddled with mould under the caulking. Definitely needs some TLC. The fridge also needs some maintenance as at least every other day I had to drain it and wipe the water from the shelves. To be fair I never called anyone about this as I didn’t want to spend any time dealing with a maintenance person, or removing all our food from the fridge. There were a lot of amenities to this cabin..strollers, baby cribs, beach towels etc but since none of these things were in the profile we brought our own. Knowing they were available would have made a huge difference to the amount of stuff we brought. It is a great spacious condo with a beautiful view. I think it just need some TLC and some tweaking to the profile.

Our stay in Kihei was amazing. Watching the sunset every night from our VRBO was such an added bonus after a long day of activities. The condo was well stocked with so many added bonus. I don’t know what we would do without the beach chairs and umbrella. Enough for all six of us. The complex with the pickle ball court was a morning must for us and the pool was another bonus

Reviewer Comments: We rented this condo several years ago for a family vacation and had only 2 complaints then:1) if you would like us to remove our shoes at the door, a shoe rack would be helpful; and,2) storing the beach accessories on the deck on huge shelving makes it too crowded for everyone to sit on the lanai together to enjoy the sunset or share a drink.Many years later on our most recent visit, I would reiterate these and add one more:3) some instructions on how to use the microwave/oven combination would be nice. It’s not as straightforward as you think.Otherwise, this condo is ideal for 3 couples travelling together or a family like ours to have ample space for everyone. We would definitely rent it again!!

The building is the closest to the road and also closest to the water. The lanai has a lovely view as the unit is on the 4th floor. The unit has two bedrooms on the main floor - one queen bed and the other two twin beds. The third bedroom is the loft with another queen bed. Three bathrooms are nice to have! The kitchen is well supplied with good quality knives! A rarity in rentals! The complex is quite big and only has one pool. But there are two hot tubs and a small children's pool. The street noise was a little disappointing but Kamaole III is a nice beach park directly in front of the complex. It is popular and a little crowded but has lovely grounds and good bathrooms and showers. Overall a good condo for our family.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time in Maui and this was great condo for a party of 6 and 2 kids. We were there in February, so we didnt have issues with the soft heat there, but the mattress there iin the soft area was a little hard. The others beds had a good mattress. It was clean and in order. Good to cook, we found all required in the kitchen. A fantastic view from the balcony. The pool a little small but no bad. Also the wednesday lua show was good and friendly, no profesional but good entertainment. My kids enjoy the lua class that afternoon. Just crossing the street you can be in the beach and a beatiful park to enjoy the sunset. We walk in the beach around 4:00 am (because of the change of time we could not sleep after 4:00am) and we got a marvelous pictures with the view of the moom and the reflection in the ocean. The park area is asigned and ours was just in front of the building. Also great welcome in the reception area. Close to restaurants and shoping area.Definitely I could go back to the same unit.

10-417 has a Wonderful view!Disappointing reservation management

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 10-417 had a wonderful view & we loved the setting! We enjoyed watching the grounds with all the beautiful landscaping, birds & butterflies with the ocean in the background. We LOVED being directly across the street from the beach! We were Blessed to see sea turtles & whales during our stay. The only negative thing was on the 2nd to last day the resort made a mistake with our reservation & thought we were leaving a day earlier than reserved. When dealing with this the man I spoke to was Very rude & insistent I was wrong. I was so upset, gathered myself & information & called back. He then called me back apologizing for their mistake but then insisted our Family move to a different condo for our last night. We were all settled in after 10 nights of already being there - we had my niece & my sister was pregnant, we really did not want to move for 1 night- he kept insisting we needed to move. The most disappointing thing about him being so rude & stern about us moving for 1 night was my parents had to cancel 2 weeks at this property 1 week at this condo & 1 week at another condo because their son / my brother passed away before our trip- my parents had to loose that money - the property gained that thousands of dollars & they were able to rent it so they profited quite a bit from our loss & cancellation. It was disappointing he would not work with us after giving them all that money. My Dad who was at home grieving & making after life arrangements had to call & deal with the reservation management. We did not move our last night which we were all thankful for considering we had my niece & sister leaving for the airport at 9pm that night. It was sad that they did not want to listen to our reasoning- it was just easier to make us move for 1 night than have to tell the new family coming in.

Great location to beach

Loved our stay here!! Short walk to the beach. The condo was clean and well stocked with boogie boards, snorkeling gear and a wagon to take all of our stuff to the beach! Pretty garden view from the lanai.

Very nice property, but...

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at the Kamaole Sands many times. The location is beautiful and conveniently located close to plenty of shops, restaurants and beautiful beaches. As for Condo 10-417, the view is the only thing nice about it. The place looks like it went through some renovations to the kitchen and two bathrooms, but the furniture was VERY cheap, old, and dirty, as was the carpet, which definitely wasn’t vacuumed before our arrival. The bedding is as cheap as you can get and the mattresses are ROCK-HARD in every room. The TV in the loft bedroom is non-existent, and the one in the beach facing bedroom is the size of a computer screen and a throwback from the early ‘90s at best. The lighting track in the kitchen, above the sink, was covered in dust that looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, and the white cabinets were likewise covered in a layer of filth. The floors and showers in the three bathrooms were cringeworthy, especially the one in the loft. The toilet in the loft bathroom has ZERO flush power, so expect to flush at least three times to clear the bowl, regardless of content (#1, #2 or both). The shower/tub in the loft appears to be the only one not renovated. The tile grout was gross - filled with mildew, and the plastic tub insert was covered in filth, with hair still remaining in the drain from whoever stayed previous to us. Speaking of the shower drain, it is VERY SLOW to drain, so when you shower you’re standing in a pool of ankle-high water. We called to have it cleaned, and we’re told someone would come the following day to do so, but that never happened, so we did the best we could to clean it ourselves. As an added bonus, there was a large booger on the wall in the downstairs-beach facing bedroom next to the dresser mirror. To sum it up, the location is great, but the condo owners or property managers definitely do not spend any money on upkeep of this condo, and the cleanliness is very bad. Condo 10-417 is
