Unser zweistöckiges Haus "Alturas De Culebra" (Höhen von Culebra) befindet sich auf einem fast 2 Hektar großen Privatgrundstück in Hanglage und bietet einen Panoramablick auf die Bucht von Fulladoza und die Karibik. Es gibt mehr als 2.000 Quadratmeter Innenraum und zusätzlich 1.500 Quadratmeter überdachte und nicht überdachte Terrassen, um die karibische Brise zu genießen.

Die erste Etage bietet ein geräumiges Wohnzimmer und einen Esstisch mit Meerblick. Das Zimmer öffnet sich zur überdachten Terrasse mit Meerblick, auf der Sie im Freien speisen können. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und geräumig. Ein großer Propangrill im Freien befindet sich direkt vor der Küche. Die erste Etage verfügt über ein komplettes Badezimmer und eine Außendusche.

Die zweite Ebene des Hauses verfügt über eine Rundum-Terrasse mit spektakulärem Panoramablick auf das Meer. Genießen Sie morgens herrliche Sonnenaufgänge vom Deck aus und beobachten Sie nachts die Sterne. Alle 3 Schlafzimmer, jedes mit Klimaanlage, eigenem Bad und begehbarem Kleiderschrank, befinden sich auf der zweiten Ebene. Sie bieten maximale Privatsphäre, während Sie die Aussicht und die Brise von Culebra genießen.

Das Haus ist umgeben von wunderschönen Terrassengärten mit sorgfältig gepflanzter Flora. In der Umgebung der Unterkunft finden Sie blühende Bäume, Obstbäume und Kräuter, darunter Passionsfrüchte, Limetten, Orangen, Oregano und Oliven.

Auf Culebra gibt es jeden Tag einen anderen schönen Strand zu besuchen. Alle Strände sind innerhalb von 5 bis 20 Minuten von unserem Haus entfernt. Abenteuerlustige können zu den unberührten Stränden von Playa Resaca, Brava oder Carlos Rosario wandern. Sie können auch ein Wassertaxi oder ein Segelboot zu den wunderschönen unberührten Inseln Culebrita und Luiz Pena chartern.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home. While the driveway was a little challenging, we got the hang of it and enjoyed going out to explore beaches and restaurants. It's a small island and the house is conveniently located to see it all. We also spent many late afternoons/ evenings on the upstairs & downstairs balconies taking in the stunning views. The beds were comfortable and for the 3 of us friends, it was nice to each have our own room and bathroom.

Great location, lovely views, nice breeze. We have rented a lot of homes on Culebra over the years. You can always tell when the place you stay in is someone's home and not just a rental. This property had everything we needed and more. It is very well cared for and we were happy the owners shared it with us.

Fantastic property on beautiful island

Lovely Culebra home that is actually more stunning in person than the gorgeous listing shows. Communication was flawless and the home was clean, comfortable and perfect. Special mention of the most comprehensive info binder ever! It was really helpful and clear. Also beds were comfortable and breezes precluded needing any air conditioning The house also has a library and we enjoyed playing Cashflow on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The property was very true to the pictures in the listing and the view was great. But when they say you need a jeep to get there you better believe it. The management team was on top of a few minor issues. Will stay there again.

Lovely, spacious home with an incredible view

This is a lovely home in a peaceful setting with an amazing view. Everything about the home is wonderful. It's well equipped with beach chairs, coolers, and snorkeling gear. The kitchen is spacious and also well equipped. There is even a full drawer of spices for cooking. The property manager is very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful views of the bay . House furnishings were very good.The house had all supplies that you need. Jessie responded promptly to all our needs and she was excellent . Great property. It is very private with no close neighbors. Only a five minute drive to town. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the home

A little piece of paradise in Culebra!

This was our 2nd visit to the island of Culebra, and our first time renting this home. We absolutely loved It! The host was responsive, helpful, and attentive. The home is situated on the top of a mountain with a gorgeous view of the island. You definitely need a Jeep to get up to the property. The home was very clean, organized, and seems the owners have thought of everything! The outdoor shower was a big plus, along with the propane grill. The property is kept in wonderful shape - you can tell the home has been loved. We would stay here again in a second! Enjoy the beautiful island of Culebra!

The view brought us back 2 months later

This is our second visit this year. We fell for the island of Culebra and this house made our visits so welcoming, comfortable and memoriable. The view is truly magnificant, one we couldn't get out of our heads so we went back as soon as we could. The island is very small but the house's proximity to the little downtown area with grocery store and restaurants in one direction and a quiet beach to watch the sun set in the other was ideal for us. Highly recommend it. The owners are very responsive; happy to share their knowledge and answer questions. As stated in our previous review, they have put alot of thought into how to make their guests comfortable so that they can experience Culebra as much as they choose to.

Beautiful home with amazing view!

This home is perfectly situated on a hill with island breezes and amazing views! We watched the sun rise in the morning and moon rise at night. Everything in the house works very well. No insects...no ants even! There is lots of space to spread out after being at the beach all day and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with way more than the basics & we ate most of our meals around the dining room table. Jessie let us in the house and she made us feel very welcome-she is very sweet & helpful. The description is accurate, everything is extremely well maintained, excellent customer service & our family of 7 highly recommends this property... just wish we could stay longer!Thanks so much for sharing your home:)

Happy repeat customers!

This is our second time staying at Alissa and Jeff's house at Alturas. It is a great location - very private, but not far from town - high on a hill so you always get nice breezes. Never need to use air conditioning, at least in January. The master bedroom is so spacious and all the bathrooms have just been remodeled - nice tiling! This would be a wonderful house for a family, but it was just me and my husband. Evenings we enjoyed sitting on the decks with drinks/snacks - fantastic ocean view. The kitchen has everything you might need. We had all our breakfasts here and made our lunches to bring with us to the beach. The beach chairs were perfect and easy to carry - very comfortable. Most evenings we went to the local restaurants - Dinghy Dock, Susie's (need reservations), Zaco's Tacos! There was construction on the bridge the first 2 days we were on the island. Luckily, we had 2 really nice beaches on our side of the bridge, so no issues. We would definitely come here again, and hope we can again next year!

Comfortable, Private, Great View

The house was well equipped and furnished to meet all of our needs. We made dinner several nights and used the grill enjoying the great views from the porch. The owners have clearly thought through everything to make your stay enjoyable. The house was comfortable for all 5 adults with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The upper deck was great for relaxing in the sun and having some drinks. Having private bathrooms for each bedroom was great and the showers always had hot water. The third bedroom is accessed from exterior stairs near the back of the house. The room is secluded. The room could benefit from a ceiling fan or air conditioning as there is not a lot of wind that reaches that portion of the house. The room is better situated for teens as two adults would find it a cramped. The owners were very responsive during our stay. We had a small issue that they quickly addressed to make sure we were comfortable. We would definitely return and stay here again!

Fantastic House and Stay at Alturas de Culebra

We were extremely happy with our week-long stay at "Alturas de Culebra." This was our 8th visit to Culebra but our first time at this house. Before check-in, Alissa and Jeff were very prompt in responding to questions via email, and check-in was flawless: Jessie, the caretaker, met us at Carlos Jeep Rental at the appointed time, led us to the house and showed us around the well-landscaped property. Like other reviewers, we must stress that a Jeep, with 4-wheel drive, is a must to go up the steep dirt driveway. The entire house--including the kitchen--was immaculately clean and was very well equipped with everything one would need. We liked the dedicated faucet with filtered water for drinking. Everything in the house works: sliding doors, windows, hot/cold water, and ceiling fans. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of hooks in bathrooms too! There are convenient labels identifying which switches work for ceiling fans or lights. We did not use the AC since there was a constant breeze and we did not turn on the TV. As far as beach equipment, there is a storage closet with snorkeling gear and beach chairs, and beach towels were provided as well. We had breakfasts and some lunches on the lower patio, enjoying the beautiful views and fresh breezes, and we ate dinners at the local restaurants. Grade: A++. Jeff and Alissa are wonderful owners, who have renters' welfare in mind. The binder with house/island information was very helpful too! Thank you!

My husband and I and our 16 year-old son just returned from a 3 night stay. Waking up each morning to this view was incredible! It is truly amazing! The house is very comfortable and quickly becomes a home away from home. The owners were extremely responsive to emails/questions and their welcome guide was our go to source for best snorkeling spots, restaurants, beach info etc. while on the island. They have put a lot of thought into what renters would like to know, what they may want at home to be comfortable etc. The house is so well stocked and organized. We cooked in a lot and my husband could not get over the crockery, spices etc. available to cook with. Beach chairs, towels and coolers for the beach - everything is available. One really has to rent a Jeep 4 wheel drive. We did rent one but had issues with ours so the car rental gave us a Jeep SUV and this was a problem. 1st visit to Culebra so can’t say what the vegetarian may have looked like before but we didn’t see much signs of the hurricane - thankfully. The island is beautiful, grocery stores stocked, a few restaurants are still cleaning up but it is very much ready for tourists. Flamenco beach was closed while we were there due to clean-up but we heard it is expected to open back up on March 1st. We will back for sure.

Believe the hype!

I cannot give enough positive feedback on this property and on our overall experience to do it justice. This was our fourth trip to Culebra and by far the best place we have stayed--in the past we have stayed in a variety of places, but none came close to Alissa and Jeff's gem of a home. The location is perfect--perched high on a hill that provides gorgeous water views and an easy drive to town and all the beaches. It's true that you do need to rent a Jeep or other 4 wheel drive vehicle to access this house, but personally I think it's important to do that regardless of where you stay on the island if you want easy access to Zoni and other sites accessible via rough roads. Plus, tooling around in a Jeep is super fun on Culebra! Check in and check out were both a breeze. Before we even left NYC, we communicated several times with Alissa and Jeff and they were extremely responsive and helpful. We also connected with Jessie (their housekeeper) before we arrived and she offered to meet us in the morning, which was so helpful and appreciated. Jessie met us at our Jeep rental place and we followed her to the house so that she could show us around. The house was spotless and had everything we needed and more, including beach chairs (upon discovering 2 were broken, we texted Jessie and she replaced them with brand new ones within the hour!), beach towels, sand toys, coolers, and a fully stocked kitchen. We ended up grilling at home 4 out of the 5 nights and preferred that to going out. The upper deck was perfect for enjoying happy hour as the sun set, and we didn't have to wait in line at a restaurant or deal with parking in town. In the mornings we loved having coffee on the lower deck. We read through the guest book and the very detailed house information book and that led us to several places we hadn't tried before for snorkeling and hiking. We traveled with our 10-year-old son, one other couple and their 11-year-old son. The house was very spacious and comfortable for all of us. The kids shared the casita and loved having their "own little house" complete with a television and bathroom. It's true what the other reviewers have said about the wonderful breezes--we never turned on the A/C in the main house, though we did use it at night in the casita. We visited Culebra in 2011 and fell in love with it. Since our first visit, we have spent nearly all of our extended vacations on the island, in each case renting a home. Our wonderful experience with vacations in these homes motivated us to search for a home of our own, and Alturas de Culebra has been a perfect fit. We try to spend 4-5 months a year on Culebra.
