I hesitate to be honest about how much we love this place, for fear others will jump on the bandwagon and make it impossible for us to rent it again. It's perfect. My family of 25 has been meeting for a week once a year for the past 35 years, and we've always found something to complain about. Until now. The views from the cabins are stunning, there are spaces to come together or to find solitude, and endless opportunities abound to swim, boat, hike -- you name it. The accommodations are lovely and cozy with lots of attention to detail, whether to illuminate the camp's history, or to provide comfort for the guests. Maybe this wouldn't be the best fit for everyone (and I self-servedly hope it isn't), but we've found our home away from home, and will be back every year from now on if Jon will have us. I'm saving the last word for him: Jon is the perfect host, ready to assist at a moment's notice (sometimes even telepathically anticipating our needs), offer funny stories, provide a bit of history about the place, and just generally help us make the most of our precious days at Kemankeag -- now, in fact, more than a host, we consider him a friend. Thank you, Jonny! And, lastly, I must add a shoutout to Linda for the fabulous lobster/fish dinner. It was a night to remember, and a week to cherish.
