Ship Bottom History: Das Gebiet war ruhig und verlassen bis zur Gründung von U. S. Rettungsstation Nr. 20 im Jahre 1872. Die Station wurde als Schiffsbodenstation bezeichnet, und die umliegende Gemeinde, die um die Station herum wuchs, teilte den Namen. Als 1886 die Manahawkin and Long Beach Railroad gegründet wurde, endete der Bock hier in Ship Bottom. In der Life Saving Station und der Haltestelle der Eisenbahnstation entstanden mehrere kleine Entwicklungen. Eine dieser Entwicklungen hieß Beach Arlington, und als der Bahnhof benannt wurde, stellten die Entwickler sicher, dass ihr Name derjenige war, der der Haltestelle gegeben wurde. So war der Name der Gemeinde von 1892 bis 1925 Ship Bottom - Beach Arlington.
1925 trennte sich der Bezirk von Long Beach Township.

Description

The listing says first floor then the description said second so we were unsure of which we're getting until we arrived and have a second floor with children is not ideal for anyone. The description said blankets and pillows but not that linens were not provided.We did not receive an email stating this until the day I was traveling all these items effect my purchasing and felt really deceptive.

Hi Nathan, Thank you for your review. Below is a copy of part of the first page of your lease where is specifies which floor you reserved. "Property 108 E. 12th Street - 2nd floor, Flr: 2 Location Ship Bottom, NJ 08008" Also, you were sent check-in directions on the 3rd of July. In those check-in directions is another reminder to bring linens and towels as described in the Listing. We apologize you feel deceived. It certainly was not our intent and that is why we have our guests book through Mary Allen Realty vs. us as homeowners.

Shipbottom Gem

These dated properties are a steal for the location they’re in. I felt like I was back at my grandma’s house in the early 1980’s in that there was a lot of nostalgia. The house has a history, and it was fun to be a little part of it. The property was fully functional and clean. It was easy to cook meals without worrying about ruining the kitchen. The tenants downstairs were a bit out off by my small children running back and forth above them during the evenings, but they mentioned it with polite candor, and all was good. Nice location next to 12th st. Beach. Close to shopping and food/restaurants within walking distance. Safe distance from Long Beach Blvd. so kids could bike and play safely. Outdoor shower was great for washing off sand from the beach. With small children, I appreciated the vinyl coverings on all the beds! Nice that there was a washing machine in the unit and easy to wash and hang everything out to dry from the balcony pulley. Clothespins provided. Don’t forget to bring dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap,toilet paper, and paper towels. Apart from that all amenities are in the house. Bedrooms tended to be a little on the hot/humid side despite the provided fans- my crafty husband bought an AC unit from Home Depot (10 min drive), and we were able to keep the house cool/comfortable. If you have such a unit at home- bring it. Wasn’t brand spanking new, but it was reminiscent of the older houses I’ve rented in Cape Cod. Comfortable, cozy!
