This was the perfect place for our trip to Lexington. We are two couples in their 60s and we thought the the townhouse worked perfectly for what we needed in Lexington. The two bedrooms up each with their own bathroom were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The townhouse is back from the road so there was no noise at night. The kitchen has everything you need to cook....but we didn't because there are so many good restaurants in the area. The living room has enough comfortable seating for everyone.
Ben was great to work with on the rental. He answered my questions quickly and sent a lot of good information on the area. Parking was right in front of the unit....the only caveat I would have would be when you are pulling out onto Maxwell to be alert....traffic comes around the curve from the right and can be on you pretty quickly.
The townhouse is a nice, or nicer, than the photos show. It was very comfortable for four people and having the bedrooms upstairs gave a nice separation for those who got up at different times.
You can easily walk downtown from the rental; if you drive parking wasn't hard to find and it was free in the evenings at the meters.
Recommendations for places to go:
If you are here during the racing season you have to go to Keeneland Race Track. It is the classiest race track I have been to thanks to the setting and the people who work there. You should go early (by 10 am) and have breakfast at the Track Kitchen. It is cafeteria style with large servings and reasonable prices. If you tip the order takers/cooks make sure you also tip the woman who cleans the tables. She is a hard worker and deserves a tip as much or more than someone who just opens a beer for you at a bar.
Places to see downtown: there is a captivating fountain/waterfall on Main street with a nice park in front of it. Harvey's Bar is a nice place to sit and watch the street life. The bar is owned by a delightful woman from Ireland. Saul Good was our favorite restaurant downtown..we ate there twice.
For a great ice cream treat you need to drive over to Crank and Boom in the Distillery District on Manchester, just a short distance from the townhouse. The area has a brewery and indoor/outdoor dining. We were there early in the evening; it seems like an area for younger folks to hang out into the evening.
The townhome was great. It was everything I expected and more. It was reasonably priced. It was in a convenient location to downtown. Rupp Arena is just down the street and Commonwealth Stadium was within 3 miles. The owner made sure that there was furnished with everything you could possibly need. I enjoyed my stay and will return.
My husband, friends and I rented the townhouse for 3 nights so we could enjoy some of the Bourbon Trail. Where we stayed wasn't important at first but we picked a great spot. The townhouse was spacious, two large bedrooms with full baths and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the tv and the back patio as well. The location was excellent we walked to downtown Lexington with ease and felt safe at all times. When we come back to visit the rest of the trail we hope the townhouse is available again. The location, hospitality and price could not be beat. The property was clean and maintained. The owners were quick to respond and always friendly and would definitely recommend to others.
We could not have asked for a better experience. The property was clean and well-maintained with all the comforts of home. We loved the location and were close enough to downtown to walk to many of our destinations. The neighborhood was clean, safe and quiet, and we enjoyed the outdoor patio area every morning and evening. The owner had put together a helpful guide for everything we needed to know during the visit and would text us additional info when we had questions. We would definitely recommend this property to friends. We love Lexington and hope to return soon for another visit and will hope that this place is available when we do.
We really enjoyed a getaway from Chicago to a smaller, very livable and surprisingly hip Lexington, and this home is the perfect home base. Walking distance to the great restaurants and ambiance of Triangle Park, a short drive from Woodland Park area, and centrally located to virtually every other corner of the city. The place was comfortable, immaculate, well maintained and had plenty of special touches - from snacks (granola bars, etc.) and table linens for entertaining. The art was a nice surprise too -- originally and beautiful. Tastefully decorated and well appointed. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Hosted small family reunion in "my" house. They all were so impressed with spacious, "nice" accommodations. Ben responded to our needs promptly and satisfactorily.
