Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was beautiful and very comfortable for me to stay with my boyfriend and our four 20-23 year old "kids". The house is immaculate and the decor is very pretty. There was a problem with a toilet, which was addressed after delays due to the 4th of July holiday. Also a little mixup with the propane tank which was immediately addressed (they delivered 2 extra for us). The management company went above and beyond to address these situations to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend renting this property. The perfect location for a fire island vacation!

Many things going wrong

The house was being showed and the second day of our stay we were asked to allow the real state agent and the inspector in. I regret having been considerate and accommodating since I felt that was not the attitude both ways. To our surprise 3 additional people showed up, apparently the buyers. They were very condescending, disrespectful and not wearing a mask inside the house. It was a rainy day so we were at the house. Also, there was a leak from the cold water faucet in the master bathroom, the contents on the vanity were completely wet on arrival and the entire floor was wet for days. The solution found by the owner was to shut the cold water, so you either burn your hands or mouth while washing hands or brushing teeth or you had to use a different bathroom. Also 2 of the 4 bikes had locks that were not working with the combination provided. One of the 2 available bikes had a flat tire and we were not offered options for repair or rental alternative so we had to rent bikes on our own with no reimbursement. I have to mention that one of the owners was nice enough that came by and tried to inflate the tire but it went flat within the following hours. We took out the trash and placed it in the bin with lid as indicated in the contract and a deer came and opened the lid and ate some of the trash and we were blamed for that event by one of the owners. Lastly, the contract also says that if you spend more electricity than 150$ you will be responsible for the cost difference. A couple of positives are that the owner made a mistake when providing check in and check out times and we were offered a paid lunch in town on arrival to allow extra time for the cleaning ladies to finish their work. Also 100$ reimbursement for the check out mistake. I feel like some of the things that happened were really not supposed to happen at this price range or managed with more respect and consideration.

As an owner of a FI rental house for 20+ years, we do everything possible to accommodate our guests and ensure a great stay on this special island. This is evident from all of the 5-star reviews that we have received from our tenants. Unfortunately, every once in a while, you are faced with a tenant that no matter how hard you try- they wont be happy and write a bad review. If you chose to rent to this tenant, just know what you will be faced with. 1.) The tenant was on notice that the house was listed for sale and showings would occur as stated in the lease. Notice was provided to the tenant of the specific time the realtor would be there and she agreed. I was not present during the showing, so cannot confirm how the tenant was treated and sincerely hope they weren’t rude. The realtor did not confirm any of the tenant’s comments and was never asked to wear a mask. 2.)There was a delayed check-in time by a few hours so I offered the tenant to drop off their bags and I’d treat them to lunch while the cleaning service finished. As a result, the tenant asked me to reimburse her for a $180 lunch. Reluctantly, I did reimburse her since it was my mistake to not put a limit on the lunch despite the tenant taking advantage of our generosity. I also reimbursed her $100 for the delay and a late check out. 3.) Unfortunately, there was a small leak in the bottom pipe of one vanity the last day of their rental. We were there within hours to try to fix it but had to have a plumber come who fixed it the next day. We apologized for the inconvenience and asked the tenant to use the other 2 available bathrooms in the house for the day. 4.) The tenant did not properly put the garbage in closed bins and deer shredded the bags with food, garbage and debris. My husband cleaned up the tenants disgusting garbage spread all over the lawns to avoid a $125 ticket which the tenant would have to pay. The tenant never helped with the clean up. 5.) Two bikes were provided as per the lease but the tenant wanted more. She rented her own bike and when I declined to pay her $50 rental invoice, I apparently ended up with this bad review. I recognize that a few mishaps occurred during the stay which is unfortunate and we tried our best to correct items quickly and offer an accommodation for any inconvenience. We always receive positive feedback from our tenants and a large number of our guests come back year after year. Thankfully, this one definitely wont be.

All The Right Stuff

We have been coming to fire island all of our lives. We owned sailboats and rented many properties. All the right stuff describes this property. What do you need at the beach? Fluffy clean towels, gently used beach chairs, a great kitchen with working appliances, a working washer and dryer, an outdoor shower and grill and comfy beds with clean linens and quilts. This house had it all. The hosts were very accommodating as well. Last but not least, we never saw one bug inside the house!

Fire Island Family Tradition (5th year)

The house is beautiful, the photos are accurate. Unfortunately, we had friends come over for a BBQ on Wednesday, and there was no propane. This was very disappointing, we checked in on Monday and left on Friday, and the propane was delivered on Friday morning.

Beautiful September Vacation

We had a lovely post-Labor Day stay in this spotless, comfy house. Sunitha is an outstanding host. She provided us with beach chairs high enough to accommodate our aging hips, and was very responsive in our communications. It's a two-story house: spacious living room, kitchen and bath upstairs; all the bedrooms, two baths, small den and deck downstairs. A delightful vacation.

Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary

We had the best time with our three 20 something kids and their significant others! This house was perfect! Location was 5 min from beach and 5 min from town! House had everything we needed! It was so clean and looked just like the pictures! My only advise would be to update or fix the bikes! Would definitely stay there again!! Host was super communicative!! House is a 10!!!

Quick Island getaway

We had an amazing time. The home is very cozy and comfortable and only a short walk to the beach. The kids had a blast in their rooms with the bunk beds and we felt very relaxed and we were able to recharge our batteries before the week began. We arrived before the Peak season so the Island was quiet and essentially we had the beach to ourselves I would certainly recommend this property to everyone

One thing to be aware of: the deck is off the lower floor and is accessible only through one of two bedrooms. Deck is decent sized and we used it. But it is not as convenient as a deck off the LR/Kitchen (which are on the top level where there is not a deck).

Great Vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at 24 Bungalow over memorial day weekend. Let me start by saying that dealing with A2 Vacation Homes was a great experience. They kept in touch with me from the day I booked and throughout our stay. I had a couple of questions when we arrived and Amanda answered me right away. We had a minor misunderstanding about the wagon and she immediately brought it to the house. I couldn't have asked for more. Just knowing they were around in case we needed them was so reassuring. The house itself was amazing. It was spotless and decorated so nicely. The location was perfect. Close enough to walk to town but far enough away so that it was quiet on the block. The kids had their own den downstairs where they were able to watch TV and just hang out. The upstairs was roomy and comfortable and us adults had our own living room to lounge in. Everything just made us feel like we were home from the moment we walked in. We would definitely rent this house again or another house through A2. It was a great experience. Thanks!
