Homeowner takes a great deal of pride in offering a spotless place, with thoughtful touches like bug spray, boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkels, shampoo, body wash, dishwashing detergent, clothes detergent, etc. The complex is gated with a security guard on duty, so you feel very safe at all times. The town around the location is lacking immediate options for eateries, snack supplies, and pharmacy-type stuff. My first impression of the area around the complex was not my final impression, as I grew to enjoy the resort feel and safety of the complex. You are right on the beach and you get access through a locked gate to your piece of the coastline. The pool deck is immaculate and just across the parking lot. You can dine on the patio table that is part of the rental and listen to the crashing waves as you eat. You can leave the sliding door open and enjoy the constant breeze and sounds of the waves and birds. As far as local eats, Loiza really doesn’t have sit down places for the family, but you are close to Puerto Rican soul food in Piñones or go past Piñones into Carolina/San Juan, which are both about 30 minutes away. You can also head toward Luquillo in 30 in the other direction.
So, overall, the place itself is perfection thanks to a host that is thoughtful and a place that is immaculate. The immediate surroundings are not excellent, but the complex you are in is totally safe a beautiful, so who cares? Like the sign in the living room says, “relax”, book it.
