If guests bring more cars, they are asked to park offsite, and we have no control over that since we don't manage the HOA. Fun but….

Property could use updating. The air didn’t seem to go below 75 and the whole unit needed to be dusted. The drawer under the stove fell of the track and was difficult to fix. Had some fruit flies that were a pest but we had fun.

My family had a great time in gulf shores. The location was close enough to everything but not a very busy area. My only complaints are small. They are stingy with toilet paper and paper towel. “What you have at check in is all you get” is firmly listed on the check in instructions and the sand in our beds on the first night. I washed all the bedding before we slept in the beds. I don’t think there should be sand in the beds before we touch them. Maybe I’m too critical. I don’t live where I have to battle sand constantly.

Hi Heather. We are not set up like a hotel so we do not supply the paper products for the condo. We try to list that everywhere we can so people are prepared to supply their own. Sand is definitely a major issue down here and we are so sorry some ended up in your bed. All of our linens are stripped and sent off for cleaning after every guest leaves. The VRBO offered plenty of space for our family. I was happy to find the space was clean. I also felt more relaxed because the VRBO also had a "lived in" feel so I didn't feel so anxious about every little movement afraid of leaving marks on the floors or walls. The Master Bedroom, the bed was fine, the bathroom was wonderful, I would recommend some darkening shades because the light outside the balcony keeps the room illuminated all night and the sun shines in first thing. The appliances in the kitchen could use some TLC but we were not on vacation for a renovated kitchen. The access to the beach and pool were really convenient. We found a bin in the parking garage of beach play stuff to use like buckets and shovels. I would also recommend upgrading to a keycode vs a physically key to get into the door.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived, was little disappointed... but i should have read little further down on previous reviews. Furniture is outdated, refrigerator still making noise like it’s about to take off, ceiling paint peeling off in multiple rooms, balcony door in bedroom was stuck and would not open, was difficult to unlock the front door with the keys. The floor and bathrooms were clean but that was about it. Everything else had dust and the remotes were sticky dust. Apparently these have all been previous complaints and is still an issue. I got woke up at 130 one morning with kids playing in the pool, yelling and laughing. The pool was closed but apparently the rules didn’t matter. Tried calling security to report and no one would answer. I just wanted sleep.The beach and outdoor area were awesome. We loved the pool, property is really close to the beach so didn’t have to walk far. Not sure i will book this location again as these have been complaints in the past and havne’t been fixed.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property location is outstanding. With that said, we would not choose this condo again nor would we recommend it. Two of the three bathrooms appeared clean. The master bath definitely was not. It visibly did not look clean and smelled of urine. I cleaned it. Also, the master bedroom faces the road which is very bright at night. The curtains were paper-thin making it seem like daylight throughout the night. The other issue is that most of the property is extremely outdated with a few exceptions. The appliances are chipped and rusting out. Most of the furniture appears to be 20 years old or more. I realize this is someone's personal property and they have every right to maintain it as they wish. However, when guests pay $2600.00 a week for a rental it seems more attention should be given to the unit. I was pleased with the service from Gulf Shores Rentals but will check into the property more carefully before booking in the future.

DIRTY AND DUSTY

CHECK IN PROCESS IS A BREEZE BUT WHEN WE ARRIVED AT CONDO THE KITCHEN FLOOR WAS DIRTY. THERE WERE DEAD BUGS ON COUNTER AND IN HALL WAY. I DON'T THINK THE CONDO HAS BEEN DUSTED IN MONTHS. CRACKS IN CEILING AND DISHWASHER WAS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE. THE FRIDGE SOUNDS LIKE IT IS ON IT'S LAST LEG. I NOTIFIED RENTAL AGENCY AND THEY OFFERED THE NEXT DAY TO SEND HOUSEKEEPING. I ALREADY HAD TO SWEEP UP EVERYTHING. CONDO LOCATION IS GREAT. SHORT WALK TO BEACH. FRONT BEDROOM HAS A STREET LIGHT THAT SHINES IN AT NIGHT. VERY THIN CURTAINS IN THE BEDROOM. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE SOMEONE CONTACT ME AFTER MY STAY ABOUT CLEANING CONCERNS...HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING.

Pros and cons

I love the location! It's a short walk from the beach and everyone was friendly. The floors were super gross. I ended up mopping the floors the first day because they kept turning our feet black. The back patio door is very difficult to open and shut too. The rooms was extremely dusty as wells.

Great location BUT needs some love inside

PROS: Great location in proximity to the pool and stairwell (only one elevator in the building, so using the stairs is a must to avoid long wait time), Great view, Large balcony, one bathroom was newly remodeled very nicely, Easy parking, Friendly and helpful staff, Great pool, easy access to beach. CONS: Exterior lock of unit would stick every single time and would sometimes take up to five minutes to unlock and lock using keys (very frustrating when traveling with small kids), mold growing (8” circle size) on the corner ceiling of front bedroom, very dirty bathroom areas (especially around toilet), stained and dirty upholstered chairs, living room furniture did not feel clean, dirty walls, dingy bedding in 2 out of the 3 bedrooms (the master had nice linens), broken arms on the living room recliners, extremely wobbly upholstered ottoman (be advised touching it), only stocked with 1 roll of TP in each bathroom, only 1 trash bag for kitchen can, none of the Remotes had batteries (had to go buy them), mattresses seemed extremely worn and uncomfortable, sliding doors to the balcony would stick and be hard to open in close due to the dirt and sand build-up. This unit has the potential to be awesome but unfortunately, it needs some updating all over. Fresh paint, new lock, new linens, newer furniture and deep clean would really make this a very desirable unit because it is so convenient. As is, I will not be revisiting with my family or recommend this unit but if some changes were made this would be a great spot to come back and revisit!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check in was so easy, as well as the online checkout. The location could not be any better. Mere feet from the pool and beach. With that being said, the unit itself is very outdated and needs an extensive cleaning. The toilet was stopped up in the master bath. Took two trips by maintenance. The appliances need to be replaced. The dishwasher is rusted and eroded. The drawer in the refrigerator broke and could not be used. The stopper for the sink did not work well at all. The furniture needs to be updated badly. It is definitely old and not very comfortable. I would stay at Ocean House again, just not this unit.

Perfect area

The condo is a perfect size and location. However, it hasn’t been updated for probably 30 years. The whole building needs some tlc. They still have telephone ;) If the kitchen and bathrooms got an over haul this place would be awesome. The rooms are good size. But for the money I expected a nicer facility.

Beautiful Location Less than OK condo

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo needs some major TLC. It has not been updated in years. The appliances are old (the fridge doesn’t close well). The furniture is stained, bedding old. It is not being cleaned well (there were cookies and other food items under tables and chairs. I did a thorough cleaning when we arrived. The dryer has several settings that don’t work. Kitchen not well equipped and the silverware looked dirty. We washed before using. The container silverware housed in dirty. We were reluctant to use any dishes. The condo was roomy and the view wonderful. The air conditioner worked ok.

Perfect for the family

My children and I had the best time. The unit has great location on the strip. The beach access was great. The kids loved having the pool. The unit itself was perfect for me and the 5 kiddos. The check in process was seamless and the office staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had the best time and we will be back!

The good and the bad.

Size of condo was excellent for a group of people. Enjoyed having the 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Sleeper sofa was rough - bring a memory foam pad to put on top of springs if you are going to use as additional bed. Patio furniture could use some updating. We enjoy sitting out in the morning and the evening. The table and chairs definitely need updating. Bring a skillet if you like to cook breakfast. Skillets in condo - food sticks. Needs pot holders in kitchen. Bring additional kitchen towels - if you cook. Condo was clean with plenty of towels in bathrooms. Great location - easy beach access. The pool is great.
