After sending your feedback to the owner, they’d like to share the following:- Cable service isn’t offered at this home and wasn’t mentioned in the check-in instructions, but guests can stream content using Roku. A nearby service line issue may have disrupted some channels, and we let you know you could log in with your own accounts or use ours—you were comfortable with that option.- We’re sorry the dishes weren’t up to standard—our substitute housekeeper may have assumed they were clean in the dishwasher, and we’ve followed up to make sure this doesn’t happen again.- We’re glad to hear the beds were comfortable and that the peaceful setting made for a relaxing stay.Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

Amazing Cabin in the Mountains

The cabin was amazing, they had a ton of little amenities. You could tell they put alot of thought into trying to make your stay as comfy and convenient as possible. The owner so sweet and nice to deal with. We will be back again.

Our stay

The property was very nice and accommodated us well. We enjoyed ourselves and had a blast! My only issue was the address listed took us like 4 miles away and with no cell service it took us almost 2 hours before we could find the house.

Driving...

Property was as described. Very quiet and comfortable. We went several places and had to drive a distance to get to them. But it was well worth it! Owner was extremely helpful with ideas on things to do in the area. We will definitely plan on at least one day at the Property to enjoy everything there.. hope to come back next year.

My experience

The cabin was beautiful inside and was very happy with literally everything inside and would say the same for outside. My issue is the furnace never worked. Even after a repairman came Monday, hot tub was 4 person and only 1 corner worked with jets (did not notify). Felt like I was deserving of a voucher or refund of some amount.

I understand how important a properly functioning heating system is, and I regret that it wasn't fully resolved sooner during your stay. We did everything possible to expedite the repair, including having a technician arrive by Monday morning, and we provided additional heaters and the use of gas logs to ensure your comfort. Regarding the hot tub, I'm sorry to hear that the jets weren't functioning as expected. Had I known during your stay, I could have assisted or provided instructions to resolve the issue. Based on your feedback, I will be updating the instructions for future guests. I appreciate your understanding during your stay and am always striving to improve the experience for all guests. Cute, clean and cozy

This is a great place to stay! You can definitely fit 6+ people with all of the space and rooms. Unless it is winter season, there isn't a whole lot close around for food but there is a full kitchen! The owners did not mention there is a person living in the garage/lower level until the day of our arrival. We did find ourselves feeling extra conscious of our noise level, even using the hot tub at night had my husband worried the jets made too much noise. Besides that we had no issues and the guy was pleasant when meeting him. It was nice of the owners to reach out during our stay to check in and make sure everything was as it should be, a tentative owner for sure! We would love to come back :)

Great area but the cabin is tired and misrepresented.

The cabin is in a great area, private, peaceful, and conveniently located. Unfortunately, all of the furniture including the beds are extremely uncomfortable. The cabin is listed at 1500 sq feet but measures out to 940 sq ft, ( I contacted the host about this but never received a response.) There is no place to store your clothing, look at the pics and you will see no closets, wardrobes, nightstands, or dressers. the upstairs bedroom is only cooled by a window A/C unit. The firepit is awesome but it is located at the far end of the property and requires you to walk across knee-high uncut grass while carrying your own seating, the bench shown in the pictures is now used to prevent you from driving too close to the house while unloading. The ad mentions the possibility of a cohost being on the property while you are there but it appears he lives there full time in the basement. The hot tub is great after a long day but the host warns that the water may stain your clothing since it comes from an on-site well. The kitchen has all the basics you need to eat in and the internet was pretty good for WV. We loved the area and will probably come back to Snowshoe but we wont be staying here again.

We take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: A positive guest experience is highly important to us. - Our listing accurately shows the size of the cabin for guests to view. It is also fully disclosed that the co-host lives on the property. In communication with you via text, we also stated that we can confirm when he gets home if he can provide you with some trash bags. The hot tub is also explained in the listing as well as in your welcome email that it does not cause stains but rather this comes from well water. - For added amenities, the unit has more storage to provide for guest use. In providing more guest comfort, we are replacing the couch and chair. Mattress taste is subjective and we have never received any complaints about this in the past however, we apologize that this specific mattress did not suit your personal preferences. Although we are in a rural area in the mountainous part of West Virginia, we confirm that the Wi-Fi is excellent. - The house is primarily a ski cabin and when it was built, the central AC was not designed for the upstairs space. Provided in the home is a window AC, a large ceiling fan and an additional oscillating fan for the upstairs. - The cabin is located on 2 acres in the mountains of West Virginia. It has been an extremely wet Summer and challenging to maintain the grass due to the unusual amount of rain we have received. - On the porch, there are two extra chairs for use by the fire pit. The snowboard bench has been placed there to help maintain the integrity of the driveway and prevent people from hitting the porch and the walk. It is about a 4-5 foot distance from where you can pull your car up to the back deck for convenient loading and unloading. We have had great reviews from our guests who note we provide information, ideas, hints, and discounts to local establishments nearby. We send every guest an email, attach extra information and text them before each stay. We encourage guests to reach out to us while they are in residence with any issues so that we can address any concerns quickly for a most comfortable stay. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Great Long Weekend Away

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We enjoyed the cabin very much. It’s pretty remote but not secluded, which is what we wanted. Very close to Snowshoe Mountain for dining and activities. The listing states that a caretaker lives on site in a separate unit and I assumed it was a separate house or trailer but the caretaker stays in the basement of the cabin. This wasn’t an issue for us, just wanted to make sure others knew someone would be staying below them.

Nice getaway

This was a great little cabin for a getaway. The host is excellent at communicating and helped in any way. The WiFi was great because there is no service! The fire pit was disappointing as it is somewhat grown up around it in the summer and not well laid out. We would stay here again if coming to WV!

Relaxing getaway

We had a great time at this cabin for our Anniversary weekend getaway. Trina (owner) was super nice and very responsive if you needed anything. Cabin is well stocked if you plan to cook (recommended as there’s really nothing near by if you come during the off season for Snowshoe- there were places to eat there but everything is closed down late October-most of November) so just plan ahead of you stay during this time. We planned to just hang at the cabin for the most part and relax. Hot tub was great and if the weather is good, front porch is awesome for game night or to just have a drink and look out. Super easy to find, just make sure you follow Trina’s directions, so it takes you to the right location. We had cell service the whole time (Verizon) but there’s WiFi if needed. Close to Cass if you want to take the train- we did and it was beautiful- long ride up to the top so might be boring for the little ones if you have kids. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect country getaway

The cabin was beautiful and the location breathtaking and super close to snowshoe. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything (and more) you’ll ever need to make a tasty meal. The property manager sent me great recommendations via email and text while we were headed there. I will definitely be back !

It was a very nice cabin. It was not as clean as I would have expected. I had to do alot of cleaning

The cabin could have been a little bit cleaner. I was very satisfied with the privacy and quiet. I did feel that I had to do alot of the cleaning preparations before I left the cabin for check out. Other than that I had a great weekend away with my husband.

The homeowner wishes you would have reached out while in residence with any of your concerns as they would have been happy to go to generous measures to make things right. There is a contracted housekeeping service that cleans and resets the linens for the cabin. And, there's also a housekeeping card in the unit for any other concerns that may come up during a stay. Because these owners have such high cleanliness standards for their cabin, the cabin is also on a quarterly deep cleaning schedule.
