Die Lage - Nur einen Spaziergang über die Straße zum Fingal Bay Beach (von September bis April patrouilliert) oder nur 200 Meter vom Fingal Bay Surf Club, dem Oceanview Restaurant, dem Longboat Cafe, einem großen Kinderspielplatz sowie einem Rad- und Wanderweg entfernt. Nur fünf Minuten Fahrt nach Shoal Bay und zehn Minuten nach Nelson Bay. 

Das Haus - Dieses doppelstöckige Haus ist erschwinglich und bietet Platz für bis zu zehn Personen, sodass Sie die erweiterte Familie mitbringen können. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich ein Wohnbereich mit einem Flachbild-TV, einem DVD-Player und einem CD-Player, ein Essbereich sowie eine Küche mit einer Mikrowelle, einem Herd, einem Geschirrspüler und einem Kühlschrank. Drei Schlafzimmer befinden sich ebenfalls im Obergeschoss (Doppelbett, Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten) und das Hauptbadezimmer mit Dusche in der Badewanne. Es gibt einen externen Zugang nur nach unten, mit dem vierten Schlafzimmer (Etagenbett und ein Einzelbett) und dem zweiten Badezimmer. Plus einen Balkon und Gasgrill, eine externe Wäscherei mit Waschmaschine und Trockner sowie einen Doppelcarport und einen Offstreet-Parkplatz (Raum zum Parken eines Bootes).

Older style but clean and good location

This is an older style house but was clean and in a good location. We had a family get together here for a long weekend and enjoyed it. Easy to walk to the beach each day.

Location 10/10 Beds are not comfortable. Floor was dirty on arrival. Could not use the yard because of burs.(except to park cars on) Spacious

Location is perfect. easy walk to the beach. and still nice and quite. This is the perfect location if you want to get away from all technology. As there is no in wifi and no mobile connectively. So funny when the peeps could not connect to Facebook. Perfect place to end the addiction :)

Such a let down.

We rented yhis place for 2 nights to attend my son's wedding. We chose this due to the reception was in Saltwater restaurant. Very covinient due to my mum is elderly. This property is very unclean, has Musty smell. Dusty.Air-conditioner is dirty, air that comes out of it, stinks.I have to buy few deodoriser and even our visitors was wondering of a sour like smell.We have to do our own beds as well.Hope the owner should do something about this. What a shame.So sorry, just being honest.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Disappointing. The house was in a great location and in good order, but it was not clean - eg: We found lolly and ice cream wrappers under the dining room table. There was not enough clean sheets or pillow cases and there was a bag of dirty laundry in one of the rooms. The council bins were full and over flowing. Doonas and covers were rolled up in cupboards, there were clean towels but no bathmats. the lounge was really dirty and we did not sit on it. The house was ok but the cleanliness was really bad

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location with a stone throw from the beach & walking distance to shops which was perfect for a large family holiday with teenage children & friends. Beautiful safe beach. On a busy road but was quiet at night. No problems with sleeping, just don't expect to sleep in:) Beds very comfy. Great deck for meals which is where we spent a lot of time. Some TLC required as some appliances & furniture either broken or required updating. Air-conditioner was questionable as there was visible mould within system. (Not certain what we could not see) Lounge in need of a good clean. We did have a sewer blockage down stairs (could tell it want the first time) Rang the emergency number at 6pm which went to a voice mail with no one checking it. We had to call the office several times the next day to get response. (10 of us sleeping upstairs & using 1 bathroom & toilet was very interesting:))We did enjoy our vacation a lot & made the most of every minute we were there.This property has so much potential & would not hesitate to come back to Fingal Bay. Would come back to this property if there were improvements to cleaning & maintenance in particular. Not certain in it current condition.

Its the 5th time we have stayed here. We love the easy walk across the road to the beach, and that the house takes 10 people usually. This year there was some significant problems. Overall the house was quite dirty with heavy dust on all surfaces, and sand on the floor, The fridge had lots of food scraps on the lower shelves and had not been cleaned. The BBQ was uncleaned. One of the beds was smashed and unusable , and there was not enough sheets for the available beds. All of the upstairs remote controls for the TV, DVD, and air conditioner were absent.The clothes dryer didnt work with 2 towels in it, probably because of the sand in it.All of these issues were reported during the stay , with no result. We do enjoy the position, and after cleaning the house we did have a good holiday, but for the cost we felt cheated this year.

Walk to the beach

The property is very close to the beach, less than 5 mins walk. Plenty of spaces downstairs for cars and boat. At the time of checking in, we noticed the screen door wasn't able to be locked, the toilet wasn't cleaned and floor wasn't vacuumed. The vanity tap is very tight and at times leaking water.The drier wasn't spinning and the BBQ need a deep clean to be useable. Overall it's a decent property at a reasonable price.

Great holiday house for extended families. Well kitted out, clean and spacious. Brilliant location opposite a beautiful beach. However, if an issue arises, there is little assistance from property management.

Fantastic place, minor issues

A group of our friends stayed here for two nights and we had the best experience. Excellent location, very close to the beach and walking distance to local shops. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for us, and everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. The bins were full when we arrived, and 10am checkout can be a bit difficult when you’re with a group, but other than that we had a great experience.

Not to bad

The house was fit for purpose however it was very dirty. The floors were filthy and dust and dirt under the beds the bathroom was also dirty this was all on arrival. In addition one of the kitchen cupboard doors was broken and the BBQ was left filthy. I would definitely stay again and sincerely hope that the cleanliness standard gets looked at ASAP.

Great family home

Nice and cosy home. Plenty of room. No musky smell as previously reviewed. Beds are comfortable and location is great, being only a short 2 minute walk to the beach. Only improvement would be to have a slightly better stocked kitchen (working toaster) and basic amenities for the house.

A beach shack

This is the third year that we have stayed at this house, so we do like it! Its a very basic house, but with great position, across the road from the beach. It has been recently painted, with a new kitchen and up stairs bathroom, and a new deck and stairs and BBQ , so its a lot cleaner than last time. Still the downstairs bedrooms smell musty, and the upstairs DVD doesn't work properly.The downstairs area would benefit by ripping out the carpet, and putting down lino, or something similar. Still its a fun place for an extended family, with lots of parking, and a big deck for family meals.

Tired and in need of love

We had a great time in Fingal. 3 couples, with us being the only ones with kids, made it really great, with lots of helping hands. The place itself is very tired. When we arrived there was a strong smell of fish... may have been the people before us. I guess everything just needs a refresh: 1) BBQ is basically broken, unless you want to wait 3 hours for a piece of meat 2) Couches are so dirty i thought I needed to check my legs for a new strain of sandflea every 5 minutes 3) The downstairs area is very damp. Our twins are 4 months old and they began to sneeze. Very dusty. 4) Everything in the place is the cheapest: no sharp knives and mix and match type crockery. 5) Upstairs - main bedrooms were extremely dusty and one of my mates had his hayfever flare up again which meant a trip to the chemist. it just needs all the cobwebs cleared out Generally fine for a boys weekend i would say - but not really a great family holiday type place.

Marina Drive is an older style, very affordable property, that can accommodate up to ten guests (and is right across from the beach). This feedback has been noted, passed on to housekeeping and our staff will carry out an inspection. We expect that some major work will be carried out at the property over the next year and will note on our website when this is done.
