The views were absolutely beautiful however the house is a little tired. We had a number of maintenance issues during our stay which was unfortunate. Most disappointing however is that access to the master bedroom is not provided. We would have appreciated that being made known prior to booking as who doesn’t love to relax in bed overlooking the ocean?

We had a great stay. Lots of space for our big family of 12. The big backyard was perfect for the kids. I loved the quiet location. Only downfalls was there was no pantry for food which I found surprisingly for such a large group it was a bit cluttered on the benches. Also I recommend bringing blankets for beds if staying in winter as the quilts aren’t cozy. All else was 10/10.

The view is spectacular. The property is comfortable but a little basic - the bathrooms particularly could do with a renovation. But it's worth it for the location and those incredible views. We had a great time.

All about the view!

Great sized house for family. Amazing views and location to the beach. Could do with ceiling fans in bedrooms and a new BBQ. Bit disappointed we didn't have access to the main bedroom upstairs. We enjoyed our time.

We loved staying at this property! The location and ocean view is an absolute highlight. The upstairs open plan living space is perfect for a group. Plenty of space and seating in the kitchen, lounge and dinning area. The cleanliness was average. The floors and couch has crumbs and hair. Not a decent clean in general. Lots of bedrooms with a heater in every room which was great. We were all warm despite the wild winter weather. The front door was difficult to unlock and close. We found it had swung open at one stage and the downstairs room had filled with insects. I think the door needs a more urgent upgrade. Overall we had a great experience watching the ocean views and the whales out the window.

Wonderful weekend away. This property has everything you need and caters for all ages. The only negative comment would be not being able to collect (and drop off) the keys from the property. It's was a detour to the agent both ways. Only a minor issue, something to consider.

BBQ gas refund

Be careful with asking for a gas refund for the BBQ as you are required to replace the gas bottle if low. We forgot to get a receipt for a new gas bottle but after speaking to Harcourts over the phone they said they would accept a copy of the credit card transaction and refund the $32. They never did

10/10 location but filthy

Stayed with a group of friends and out children. Read reviews prior to stay and saw common notes about level of cleanliness but was still surprised at how the house was presented. We did a clean on arrival, so many dead flies by windows and so much dust. Surely no cleaner comes between guests. House was in much better condition after our stay and that’s with 6 kids being there! Chose property due to large safe yard with gate to keep children enclosed so they can play safely. Upon arrival noticed gate in advertised pictures has been removed. Heaters in each bedroom great, would be hot in summer no airconditioner or fan in bedrooms. Previous comments regarding bbq true, arrived to absolutely no gas in bottle, took to get refilled but then noticed bbq was so dirty we chose to cook inside all weekend. We have been reimbursed for gas bottle. Hung towel on towel rack and it fell down. No instructions for oven that is old and has a trick to use thankfully one guest worked it out as it was similar to his grandpa’s when growing up. Found all reviews to be correct upon stay. Amazing view that saves the property. Close to beach walkway. Would stay again in winter, autumn, spring. Just have the mindset that it’s a shack in a good location.

Smelly Middleton

Beachfront property with great views. Kitchen well set up and plenty of room for all guests. Arrived on a 38 degree day and house was stinking hot, with one small air conditioner that struggled to cool the upstairs kitchen living areas. One small fan downstairs needed to be vacuumed before we could use it. There are no other fans in the bedrooms. The windows are quite unique and we found some of the difficult to open. Unfortunately due to the recent flooding, there were many dead fish on the shore and opening the windows brought the stench in, acknowledging it is not the property owner's fault. The main upstairs bedroom is not available for use (noting there are two other bedrooms upstairs). Found dead cockroaches and crickets inside and one of the wooden mats in the bathroom was broken. A chair and stool were unsafe to use. The worst of it was that we were then accused of leaving marks on the dining table and the $600 bond was withheld. Fortunately we had some photos that showed the marks were already there. After 5 weeks of emails and phone calls, the bond minus a 'stripe fee' was finally refunded. Would never go through Harcourt again and have learnt my lesson to take plenty of photos of a property on arrival.
