This trip meant so much to me and I wanted everything to be perfect. Perfect is what it was. We celebrated our 15 year anniversary at this cabin. We were able to get beautiful scenic view pictures to make part of our memories. If you are looking for peace and quiet, nature and lake side view. This is where you want to be.

Steps to the porch

The cabins were very clean and nice. The location was great with a beautiful view. It was awesome to see the deer running. We found the steps to be dangerous. The air conditioning was loud making it hard to hear the tv. Other than that it was a great stay!

Good little cabin

It’s a good and easy spot to stay in. The fridge looked clean but the smell that came from it when you opened it was wretched! It smelled of rotten shrimp and was so bad we could not use it. If you opened it for just a second it would stink up the whole place.

Our thoughts

We loved this little home but I think making sure there was enough toilet paper is a must. We didn’t get a code to get in until we were about 30mins away and we drove 5hrs to get there. Also the driveway needs to be fixed. It scratched the bottom of our car every time we pulled in and out. Other than that it was really peaceful and quiet out there.

Hi David, we always appreciate hearing from our guests, but we would like to take a moment to address a couple of things in your review: -Our pre-stay email is sent out immediately after a booking is made. We include this message: "For your convenience, a starter set of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, and trash bags are provided. Please make sure you bring additional paper products, laundry detergent, and any other supplies needed." This is a standard procedure in the vacation rental industry. -We were surprised to read that you only received the code 30 minutes before your arrival. Our records indicate that Evolve sent out the pre-stay email- which includes the access code- on Jan 31st the day you booked and it was opened by the guest. This was well in advance of your check-in day. -We have a standard driveway that we have never had trouble with. We cannot control if a guest decides to bring a low vehicle to our property. We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Photos online are very misleading. Everything looks bigger in photos. Not private at all. Deck area looks directly at back of a house. A larger home to the south was lit up most of the night. I read the reviews about the mattress and agreed that yes mattress preferences do differ and decided to risk it. Boy was that a bad decision!!!! We had to force ourselves to sleep on the very edges in order to not roll towards the center. Worst mattress ever! We travel all over Texas very frequently and stay in rented beds at least 5 times a year, that mattress should be burned! The tiny shower made me claustrophobic and I only weight 108lbs. My husband was unable to bend over without sticking his head out of the shower. Our son decided not to come. Good thing! Details online say sleeps 3. There were only 2 barstools for table and the table was definitely not large enough for 3. The foldout bed had velcro holding back cushions on. They also need to apply pesticides. I was bite up by chiggers and was not rolling in the grass. There were discrepancies between the location as well as check in and check out procedures between email correspondence and written manual inside cabin. I gave 2 stars because the linens were soft and clean. Towels very plush, the whole place was clean, all new appliances, the kitchen was equipped with cutlery and place settings as well there were cooking utensils and other items used for cooking a basic meal. There is definitely effort on fixing the place up. It was recently painted too. Online discription should read " quaint cabin"

Hi Nicole, we always appreciate hearing from our guests, but the homeowner would like to take a moment to clarify a few things raised in your review: - We were concerned about the complaints about the mattress so we took the bed apart and found that the frame did not have enough support. We added support so that this should no longer be an issue for future guests. - We're sorry you experienced issues with the shower, this is a regular stand-up shower that was made by the manufacturer to code. - We use professional photography for the home, so the features you see on the listing, including the size of the home, are accurately advertised. - The dining table is a bistro table and can accommodate 4 guests. As described in our listing the couch pulls out and can be used as a bed for a third person. - As the home is located right on the lake, pests can be prevalent in the area and occasionally enter if doors are left open. We have ongoing pest control that manages and protects the home from these issues. Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

So peaceful

Cabin was very clean, lake is about 50 yds, pretty view. LOVED the firepit! The provided grill uses charcoal, bring your own. We saw lots of birds (including blue herons and eastern blue jays), deer and squirrels. Bring your own hatchett to chop up the plentiful branches (already on the ground) into firepit sized pieces. This was a great place to rest and relax.

Fishing trip

The cabin was very nice. I was greeted in the mornings by the sweetest orange tabby cat. I wish I would have known his name. 🐾 I had read previous reviews of the bed being uncomfortable, I did not find this to be true for me. It was very plush and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet with very little activity. The property was well maintained and clean despite having construction going on. I do wish the dock had been in usable condition as my main reason for staying there was to fish. I did however find MANY very close spots for shore fishing near the cabin. I would also recommend if you’re needing to run to a corner store, go to one of the small ones just up the road, the people are nice there. Don’t stop at the one on the corner of 155 and 279. It was scary there. If I had any questions Owner responded promptly and was very nice. Would absolutely stay here again.

The property was beautiful, only 100 yards from the lake. The 1 room cabin was very quaint and comfortable. Our only complaint is the bed, it was too soft. The uneven step made it hard to bring our luggage up to the cabin.

Cabin Stay

The cabin is very unlevel and the mattress needs replaced. Need better quality of pillows. The grass needed mowed. The steps to the cabin need some attention.

Hi Teresa, The homeowners were surprised to read your review and would like to clarify the following: -While the mattress is less than two months old, we know that mattress preference is unique to each guest and we were sorry to hear you weren’t comfortable. -We have a lawn service that comes once a week to maintain the grounds. -We evaluated the steps and don't see any issues but will continue to monitor. View of Lake!

Me and my husband celebrated our 10th anniversary at this cabin. When we arrived we had a bottle of wine and lots of snack’s Waiting on us as a surprise. The cabinet south is very clean and we enjoyed sitting on the back porch barbecuing and looking at the lake. My husband walk down to the lake and fished for a while. He said it was so peaceful he really enjoyed it. We just happened to arrive when all the rains were coming in this May, So I had to contact Renee and let her know that we had arrived early because we weren’t sure flooding or whatever problems we might encounter on our ride up. She was so friendly and allowed us to arrive to the cabin early we were so thankful to be out of the rain. I had rented a pontoon boat from bullfrog marina add to our surprise it was only five minutes from this cabin. It was a great romantic getaway!

what a cute, neat, little cabin. Everything we needed was included, even robes. The lake was a short walk down the hill. Fishing was good. Highly recommended!

Beautiful area

We enjoyed our stay except the queen size bed should have been discarded 5 years ago. You roll to the middle. We had business in the area and stayed 4 nights. On day 4 both my husband and I had back problems. If the bed isn’t replaced, I’d steer clear.

Hi Stephen, we're glad you enjoyed this beautiful property overall, but sorry you found the bed uncomfortable. Mattress taste is subjective, and the owner has never received any complaints about this in the past; however, we apologize that you were not completely comfortable. This homeowner works hard to provide an ideal stay for all of their guests and encourages them to reach out with any concerns while in residence.

Beautiful Oasis

This property is a great getaway. Quiet and secluded from big city. Neighbors are very nice. Plan to be back.
