Home Away From Home

My family and I have stayed at Westwinds multiple times and this was the first time staying in this condo. It was clean, conveniently located on the 6th floor, and had a nice wrap-around balcony.

Great location!

The place was in a nice location with a beautiful view. We didn't visit any of the other pools except ours but it was very nice. The only thing that didn't work properly was the ice maker in the refrigerator. You have to stand there all day to get a few pieces of ice. Other than that we enjoyed the stay.

Nice Condo

The Condo was nice and in a good location. The only thing that was a little disappointing is the lack of items in the kitchen such as coffee filters, salt & pepper....etc. These types of things are always in condos from previous guests. Makes me feel like the cleaning people are instructed to remove them if they are left

Much needed week in paradise!

Property was mostly as described with a couple broken items. Condo wasn’t as clean as we’d preferred. Dirty floors, dirty sinks with toothpaste all over the faucet but nothing a few Clorox wipes couldn’t tackle. The beds were super comfortable and the VIEW was amazingly beautiful! Condo had all we needed to make our week a relaxing getaway. They furnished 1 beach chair & tiki umbrella…maybe add another chair… would be nice to have a set. We booked this specific condo because it came with the San Destin Resort benefits of access to the larger Fitness Center, & bicycle & kayak rentals. The wording made it seem as though exercise classes were included, which they were NOT. Not a huge deal but we would have probably booked with another more updated condo, but we had hoped to attend classes as a family so this benefit was appealing to us. Classes were an add’l $10 each; thus another couple hundred dollars. We still enjoyed the workout center with the sauna & steam room amenities. The whirlpool was closed. Overall, it was a great vacation and we loved staying at the Westwinds condo & San Destin Resort. This was our second trip to Westwinds. It’s a great community where your family will have a fantastic vacation!

Great view - clean and like home

Very great experience. View and balcony were amazing. The condo was clean and felt like home. It was great to have the beach chairs and umbrella provided. The master does have a pretty loud bed but it’s comfortable. The patio furniture should be replaced soon but satisfied the need for our stay. We will be back!!!

Glad we stayed on the beach! Outdoor furniture, range, and refrigerator were only partially functional, and the water supply to the unit was interrupted three times by their leak detection system…but there were no leaks.

Generally good, but squeaky bed

Generally good, only major complaint was the squeaky master bed. Shifting weight even slightly resulted in a loud squeak. This substantially impacted sleep quality, which is important. The master bath toilet flush also resulted a loud whine, quickly training you not to flush at night. As others noted, TVs were out-dated and remotes confusing. Pretty sure I saw a VCR in the bedroom, meant to verify that before I left. No biggie though, I wasn't there to watch TV. Check-in was confusing (across the road before entering security gate), again as others noted. Otherwise decent. Property was good. Wasn't crowded like others.

Hopefully not a cliche, but it really was breathtaking!!!

The courtyard gate leads right onto the beach! Nice swimming pool and jacuzzis. The poolside restaurant operator was super nice and their hamburgers and fires were better than a burger restaurant we had been to during the week. I can go on about the rooms: spacious, clean, and killer views of the beach and the sunset and sunrise! The not so great: I tried calling the management agency to let them know that I’d be arriving very late and wanted information on checking, but no one called back after I had left two messages and 4 hours had passed. When we arrived, the guards at the gate were nice, but asked to go and check-in in a building completely off the property, maybe a 1/4 mile away. We sorta had find our own way through the check in process. It should be more efficient. Nonetheless, it did not take away any from our awesome experience we had and I would most certainly bring my family here again!!

Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort - Fantastic location and resort

This was our family's second visit to Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort - WestWinds Tower. Great service, great units, very clean pool area and incredible beach. The resort location of very close to everything without all of the traffic found in Destin. We will definitely be back next summer. By the way check-in at the Guest Relations Center could not have been more pleasant. Great place!

I truly enjoyed the property. Our stay was very enjoyable.

We loved our stay, everything was great. A suggestion would be a few more extra items in kiichen. Our overall was wonderful.

Really Nice Condo

Overall, a great condo with a nice layout and a large balcony with beautiful views of the ocean and pool. With a few additions, I would give it 5 stars. Specifically, the televisions are a bit outdated (one required the use of 2 remotes -- one for volume, and one for changing channels). It has really large TV armoires that take up a lot of space. There were only 2 trash bags for the entire week. No scissors. And not a stitch of carpet or area rug, which meant that you are constantly waking on sand while in bare feet. Admittedly, I'm not picking. I'd stay here again for sure, but it could be perfect with just a handful of additions/updates.

Excellent condo with awesome balcony. A few additions would make it perfect.

First off, this is a very nice condo. Very well laid out. And a huge wrap-around balcony. Would stay here again. However, it needs a few additions. The televisions are a bit outdated, and one of them required the use of 2 different remotes (one to control volume, another to change channels). There were no scissors. Only 2 trash bags for the entire week. And there is not one stitch of carpet or area rug in the entire condo, so it was nearly impossible to not feel sand beneath the feet when in bare feet. But like I said, overall, it's a beautiful place, modern, with a great view.
