Das schöne Hauptschlafzimmer mit Queensize-Bett und vielen Fenstern sorgt für eine willkommene Brise und ist ein großartiger Rückzugsort nach einem langen Tag am Strand. Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügt über 2 Einzelbetten für Kinder und Erwachsene. Perfect for a family of four

The cottage was perfect for our stay as a family of four. We especially liked the well stocked kitchen (a whole drawerful of spices!), the flamingo decor, the heated outdoor shower and it's a nice rare find to have a full bathtub in a small cottage. The outdoor area was spacious and private and we enjoyed eating outside at the picnic table. Beach is only a five minute walk away.

My family and I recently stayed at the flamingo cottage at long sands and it was fantastic. The cottage is very clean, spacious and has everything you need with a secluded side yard for you to enjoy. The outdoor shower was a great addition especially trying to get young children cleaned up after a day at the beach. The location is great as long sands beach is a quick walk down the road. Mel was a great host who greeted us when we got there, and showed us around the cottage. I would highly recommend this vacation rental.

This was a really cute and well-stocked house. We loved being so close to the beach, and the house had everything we needed. The owner showed us around during check-in, and we felt very welcomed. We would come again!

Perfect summer beach cottage. Homey and comfortable. We loved the flamingo theme throughout. Very clean and the private back yard offered a great space to relax and socialize or read. Love the outdoor shower! Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses utensils, pots, pans etc. Quiet neighbors. It was the perfect getaway!

Charming stay in Long Sands

This property is wonderful. Short walk to the south end of long sands. The cottage is very charming, clean, and well appointed. We had everything we needed. The yard and bbq area was quiet, secluded, and relaxing. Check in and check out was as easy as others have described. It’s a wonderful property and I hope to return.

Peaceful beach getaway

We are return visitors to the 'Flamingo House'. Mel and John take very good care of the cottage and put a lot of effort and thought into improvements that make it more comfortable for guests. The cottage is very clean and secluded at the far end of long sands, but is just a short walk to the beach. We are already looking to see when we can book it again next year.

Great Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay in the Flamingo cottage. It was very clean and organized. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking plus storage space available in some of the cabinets for groceries. Mel reached out to make sure we were all set and had everything we needed. The yard is beautiful and very private with an enclosed, outdoor shower which was great!

Lovely cottage in a quiet neighborhood

We enjoyed our week long stay at Mel's flamingo cottage! The layout makes it seem very spacious. Everything was very clean and tidy. The walk to the beach is only 5 minutes. Mel was very communicative and her customer service was phenomenal. When I locked the key inside by mistake, I left her a message and she had someone come to the cottage within 5 minutes with a spare key! We look forward to staying here again in the future and would definitely recommend it to others.

Summer 2022

We enjoyed the property! We got reprimanded a few days into our stay for putting a small portable air conditioner in the back bedroom without asking permission. We didn’t think it was a rule breaker! After that we felt like we were being watched!!

I know this summer has been hot, I didn't ask you to remove it, I mentioned that I would like to have been asked before you assumed you could install an AC in our new windows. I hope in the future you ask the owner of the property where you're vacationing if you could bring something like this. Well-appointed Cottage

Cottage was as described and thoughtfully outfitted. If you cook, kitchen has all needed pans and utensils. Nice Weber grill in yard. Beds are comfortable and there is good storage for items and clothing. The a/c unit was a welcome addition on the really hot days. Mel has definitely put thought into guest comfort. Wish that the dining table had 3 or 4 chairs instead of just 2. Even folding chairs would be nice. All in all, a great stay.

Perfect Maine Trip

It was our first trip to the area and we enjoyed our stay. Communication was easy and the cottage was located conveniently to everything. A quick walk to the beach, a short drive to shopping and to Portland. We utilized some of the trails in the area as well. Definitely recommend this property!

Great place right near Long Sands beach!

We loved staying at this cottage. Maryellen the host is wonderful. The house is perfect for a small family and very close to the beach, incredibly clean, has a private yard with a gas grill, outdoor shower, and is only a short drive to restaurants, super market etc. I highly recommend this property for a beach vacation.

Perfect family vacation

We had such a great time at this cottage. It is walking distance from along sands. Comfortable for our kids. Nice yard for relaxing. It was the first time we had taken our young children for a full week vacation and they did not want to leave!

Adorable cottage within walking distance to the beach

Incredible week at this amazing cottage within walking distance to Long Sands. Upon arrival, the owner graciously met us to give us a tour of her home. Very clean, cozy, tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could ask imagine for your vacation. Charming kitchen with pots and pans/Keurig coffee maker/microwave/dishwasher/refrigerator - everything you needed. Quaint private backyard to entertain with grille, picnic table and enough seating for family and friends. Outdoor shower is amazing after a long day at the beach. It was nice having a shed full of items you would need for the beach! Wonderful, clean cottage for a small family. Amazing hidden gem 💓 in York Beach.

Adorable, comfortable, clean cottage

This was the perfect cottage for our vacation! It’s charming, cozy and newly renovated. The owners met us with the key and were so friendly and welcoming. We have 3 teenagers who were totally comfortable but it would also be perfect for little ones. The yard is surrounded by a privacy hedge and we enjoyed sitting outside after the beach. Outdoor shower is awesome. Kitchen is well-equipped. Beds are comfy. The boys rode their bikes to Long Sands, and the rest of us walked. Silly detail but the owner has great taste in books; we had plenty of beach reading! I can’t tecommend this place enough. We love York and this cottage is a perfect getaway spot.

We've been coming to Long Sands for over 20 years and we absolutely love it here. We live in New Hampshire but spend a lot of time at the beach either in York, Maine or Rye, NH. We're foodies so we're always cooking or trying new restaurants. When we're not at work we like to entertain, our backyard and fridge is always full. We have an open door policy, come over any time, the beer is cold.

We knew this property was for us before we entered. We were looking for a beach cottage for 5 years. My husband's family owned cabins in Hampton, NH when he was growing up and this one just spoke to us. It was the perfect cottage. Not too retro but not too posh. It was just right. We hope you love it as much as we do.

The cottage is on a quiet street, walking distance to Long Sands Beach, great big private yard. It's cozy with new windows that allow for a beautiful cross breeze on a hot summer night. It has a cute sun room where you can have your coffee and read the paper, or go outside and read the paper in the Adirondack chairs. There's an outdoor shower and clothes line. The house is one of those places memories are made.
