Kathryn was an excellent host and responded very quickly on questions that we had before and during our stay. Several days before checkin we were given all the necessary information for parking getting to the location and instructions on entering. The Main and Guest house were extremely well stocked with all amenities and beautifully decorated with the Hawaiian spirit and extremely clean. The Best cleaned VRBO we've stayed in. All the rooms had air conditioning and kept all comfortable at night. The family rooms had ceiling fans that kept it comfortable with some windows open and the cooler air during a later December to early January stay. The garage had beach chair, boogie boards, coolers snorkel equipment and beach toys that were a major plus during our stay. The house had a large grill a very nice hot tub and a comfortable porch if you just want to take to chill. The houses were in a well maintained neighborhood and we all felt comfortable in the location. The location was a central location for easy access to many places that we enjoyed such as restaurants, shopping, coffee, beaches, and the athletic club that we had access to. The athletic club was a major plus as well as it was great for all ages. Whether you want to work out, swim, play pickle ball or tennis or just let the young ones burn some energy in the field the complex had it all. The had a restaurant and a bar and prices were reasonable. Overall, this was a great home away from home.

The house was in excellent condition and fit all of our needs. Between the bedrooms and the blow up mattresses our family of 13 people were very comfortable. The big porch was great to hang out on. The garage was full of beach toys for everyone’s needs. We would stay here again.

The house and set up was perfect for our family. The issues we had were that within a couple hours of arrival, I notified the host of a broken toilet seat. It was discovered with the first use. The host then explained that an insurance claim would be filed as we are insured up to 5,000 in repairs. It didn’t sit well with us that we were being blamed for existing issues. She also indicated that we shouldn’t use the toilet. Of the 8 days we stayed there, we had 4 contractors/maintenance/handymen people show up - 3 of which we weren’t aware would even be coming. One was an HVAC company who when we arrived back at the house were inside, a hot tub guy came, left and then came back again to drain the hot tub, a yard maintenance company that was there for several hours during the day and they were very loud and disruptive, and then a repair man to fix a window show (this person we were informed of). The house itself is stunning and its location fabulous. I just wish we weren’t disrupted during our stay as much and blamed for a repair item that we didn’t even do.

The house was very nice not far from a lot of activities and the very close. The kitchen had everything we needed. It also had everything you need for the beach, snorkeling, towels. Perfect home for a family reunion! With 2 homes, lots of bedrooms, bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 washer and dryers, a large veranda and a play field across the street, we all talked about how well this home was for our multigenerational family of grandparents, parents and children. The home is safe, well located, clean, well stocked with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, sand toys and a membership to the athletic club, which our little ones loved almost as much as the baby beaches nearby. Beds are comfortable. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Nice location

Our stay was pleasant. The beach club was definitely not walking distance. I expected it to be in the same neighborhood. The amenities at the beach club were great. We played pickleball and enjoyed the food and bar service at the pool and the smaller children enjoyed the waterside. A nice sectional or more comfortable seating in living room would be beneficial. The lanai was enjoyable daily. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Perfection for large family

We had a great stay at Kathryn’s house. House was same as pictures and reviews. If you read everything you will be prepared. The house is super well equipped. There is A/C in the bedrooms but not in the family spaces. It does get hot in those spaces. Keep bedroom doors closed and you will sleep well at night. Beautiful neighborhood and convenient location. Lanai is perfect for sunsets and rainbows. All the gear in the garage is helpful! Poipu Beach Athletic Club membership is awesome! I would stay here again!

The house fit our family perfectly! It was the best location and we loved the bonus Poipu athletic club access. I wish I would have known before hand, that we could use the club passes on the day we checked out. I ended up buying day passes to a different hotel due to our late flight and early check out!The owner was amazing and easy to work with. The only thing that was difficult was the main living space didn’t have AC. I naturally assumed when it says AC it means the entire house. Only the bedrooms had AC. It was a hot week and we were uncomfortably hot when we gathered at night to hang out. Also the right bedroom in the main house for the first 4 nights was a hot box. The owner was great and got the AC fixed and that room was finally comfortable. That is truly our ONLY complaint. We had the best time and enjoyed making memories in Kauai!

Perfect for extended family

This home was perfect for 3 families: grandma and grandpa, our children and grandchildren 1, 2,and 3 yrs old and a caregiver. There were plenty of beds appropriate for all of us including the children as well as high chairs, toys, children's plates/ cups and silverware. The garage had a treasure trove of beach toys and beach equipment, with sun umbrellas, beach chairs and snorkeling gear. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for a wide range of meals. It was safe and quiet and close to all sorts of shops, restaurants, and beaches. The clubhouse pool with water slide and gym were enjoyed by everyone in our party! We appreciated having the guest house with 2 bedrooms in such close proximity to the main house. It allowed a little extra privacy for some quiet time for the old folks and caregiver, yet it was very easy to be involved in all of the socializing.

Great location in beautiful Poipu

Overall, this was a lovely stay. Beds and pillows comfortable. However, the linens are looking a bit tired and the whole place could use a really good decluttering, re-organizing of kitchens including replacement of some of the frying pans as well as replacement of the main door keypad - the front door sticks. Filter in the dryer gets caught with clothes and could be a danger. Both guesthouse and main house could use a different dining table and chairs set up. For a home that sleeps 12 people, it is strange that the dining table only comfortably seats six. The stools around the table in the guest house are too high to be comfortable when seated at the table.Having said that, it wouldn’t take much to bring this property back to a five star in our opinion.

Anniversary Celebration

We had a wonderful time here. The property is so well equipped for everything you need. So many kitchen gadgets. All the beach items you need. A previous reviewer said the property better than its pictures. So true. The great room was so comfortable and spacious for our family time. There were 10 of us including 3 children. Plenty of room. Wonderful!

This house was amazing for a big family getaway. The toys in the garage were a big hit with the kids. Easy beach access and shops were within walking distance. Highly reccomend and would consider rebooking again!!

KATHRYN MURPHY & LANCE PETO HAVE OWNED A HOME ON KAUAI FOR 14 YEARS .THEY LIVE IN SAN DIEGO AND TRAVEL TO THE ISLANDS SEVERAL TIMES EVERY YEAR. KATHRYN WAS BORN & RAISED IN MARYLAND & WENT TO NURSING SCHOOL IN MIAMI. SHE SPENT HER SUMMERS ON THE BEACHES OF DELAWARE & THE REST OF THE YEAR IN FLORIDA. THE OCEAN , SAND, SURF & SUN ARE IN HER BLOOD .
LANCE GREW UP IN CANADA, BUT SPENT SUMMERS ON THE BEACH IN MAINE WHILE TRAVELING TO FLORIDA IN THE WINTER TO VISIT HIS GRANDFATHER. HE ALSO HAS THE BEACH IN HIS BLOOD WHICH IS WHY THEY SELECTED KAUAI TO MAKE THEIR SECOND HOME

OUR HOMES ARE IDEAL FOR EXTENDED FAMILIES VISITING KAUAI. THEY ARE NEW WITH ALL THE LUXURY CONVENIENCES THAT YOU COULD IMAGINE & BEAUTIFULLY FURNISHED IN THE TROPICAL THEME.
THE MAIN HOUSE IS IDEAL FOR LARGE GROUPS WITH 3 BEDROOMS & 3 BATHROOMS & HAS A FABULOUS OVERSIZED MASTER BEDROOM SUITE WITH WALK IN CLOSET & GORGEOUS MASTER BATH INCLUDING IMPORTED CARRERA MARBLE. THE 2 GUEST BEDROOMS ARE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE GREAT ROOM TO ALLOW PRIVACY AND SHARE ANOTHER OVERSIZED CARRERA MARBLE BATHROOM.
THE OPEN FLOORPAN HAS A GRANITE KITCHEN & ISLAND WITH MASSIVE 15 FOOT HIGH CEILINGS AND A SEPARATE DINING AREA.
THE MAIN HOUSE HAS EXTENSIVE WEST FACING WINDOWS OVERLOOKING THE LUSH HAWAIIAN MOUNTAINS AND A WRAP AROUND LANAI WITH SEATING FOR 10. A BUILT IN BBQ & SPA ALLOW GUESTS TO RELAX & ENJOY THE SETTING.
YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE POIPU ATHLETIC CLUB AT NO ADDITIONAL COST, WHERE YOU CAN ENJOY A POOL WITH PARTIAL SANDY BOTTOM AND SLIDE, TENNIS, PICKLE BALL, WORKOUT, WEIGHT ROOM, SHUFFLE BOARD, RESTAURANT & BASKETBALL!!!!!
AFTER A BUSY DAY EXPLORING THE ISLAND OR BEACHES
THE SEPARATE "OHANA" OR GUEST HOUSE HAS ANOTHER 2 BEDROOMS & 2 BATHROOMS. THIS ALLOWS SEPARATE FAMILIES TO SHARE THE PROPERTY, MINGLE DURING THE DAY AND YET HAVE THE ABILITY TO ESCAPE FOR QUIET TIME.
