We had an exceptional experience staying at Mary's Place!The location is in a beautiful, safe, conveniently-located neighborhood near Haight Street, Golden Gate Park, and Hayes Valley and is near a MUNI bus and metro station for travel throughout the city. The home was clean, comfortable, and included kitchen amenities, Wifi, TV, and an outdoor patio! There was a Safeway grocery store, laundromat and coffee shop within a five-minute walk. The home has two bedrooms, a living room with a pullout couch, a full bath and half bath, large kitchen and dining room. It included a parking space for a moderate-sized vehicle. Mary was a welcoming host, responsive, and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this gem!

Classic San Francisco Home

This is a sweet home with a classic San Francisco design. It is well located with restaurants and bakeries nearby and within walking distance of Golden Gate Park. Inside, our family group of three found all the rooms very clean, comfortable and well appointed. We were also very please to have a parking space right in front of the house. We'd stay here again, no question!

Friends from out-of-town

We needed a place in SF near our home for out-of-town guests and this house was perfect. It had such personality and represented SF perfectly. And the wine and snacks were much appreciated by all.

Gorgeous green house

We loved the house - especially the kitchen, it is perfect for family, The place is in a fantastic neighbourhood(Lower Haight) a 4 min walk from major transit lines and close to wonderful cafes, small grocers with fruits and veggies, and a wide choose of restaurants- also with walking distance of Buena Vista Park and Corona hill where you can take in gorgeous views of San Frn and Golden Gate bridge

Like house sitting for a friend

It’s hard to put into words what we liked so much about this place. Mary’s house felt so warm and welcoming. It is definitely a personal space, but not so much as to be cluttered and intrusive. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location for San Francisco visit

We really enjoyed staying at Mary’s place as it was comfortable and interesting inside as well as perfectly located for Muni and bus routes in all directions to all key attractions in the city. An added bonus was the attractive local area aid selection of shops and cafes to walk to. Mary was also very helpful in responding to any queries and providing advice. Recommended!

Quintessential San Francisco home

My adult son and I stayed at Mary’s Place when we traveled to San Francisco to celebrate his birthday. Her home was exactly what we were looking for! First off, Mary is very easy to communicate and work with. Next, her home is as advertised. Exactly. It is what you picture when you think of a home in the heart of San Francisco. Tastefully decorated with lovely and fun art objects from around the world. Very comfortable! Everything we needed and more! I will rent from Mary again the next time I’m in San Francisco! I am an artist/designer/entrepreneur venturing into the sharing economy for the first time. I grew up in Minnesota and after 2 years in the Peace Corps I moved to San Francisco in 1987.

I love my home, the city and the surrounding areas. I'm excited to share it with others.

This is an oasis without being off the beaten track. The combination of the comforts of this home and the amenities of the neighborhood, along with its location in the heart of multiple compelling districts make a stay here a great choice.

This house is a piece of history that has been updated for modern living. Built before the 1906 earthquake it has great character and presence. The high ceilings and the softwood floors enhance its warmth and sense of home.

I grew up in an older home built by a Czechoslovakian builder in the midwest. For me this house is the closet thing to that original family home. It just feels right.
