Mesa Retreat was a great place for a girls trip celebrating a BIG birthday! It’s conveniently located for visiting local attractions & has plenty of room…but the best thing about it is the view from the expansive balcony. We spent a lot of time there enjoying morning coffee & evening R&R after a day of sightseeing, with views over the city in one direction & Pikes Peak in the other. All in all, the perfect getaway. (Do note that two of the bedrooms require stairs down to the lower level, in case any of your group has mobility issues)

The view from this property is spectacular! The house had plenty of room for our family of 6. The master upstairs is very spacious as well as the downstairs area. It was a perfect space for us to relax watch a movie and enjoy playing pool after our outings. Rich our host was available for any questions we had. The neighborhood is so peaceful and safe. The location of the house is perfect, so close to the Garden of the gods which we frequented. Our family had such a great experience and made wonderful memories. The house was awesome and we fell in love with Colorado Springs and will for sure be back!

Property was well positioned for view of Pike’s Peak, and the back deck was amazing! Only 5 minutes from Manitou and Old Colorado Springs. Location was amazing.

Beautiful view

Our family of 5 had a great stay in Colorado Springs. Beautiful view. Property owner answered right away and check in/out was easy. The property needs some upkeep but overall a nice stay.

Fabulous House!!!

Staying here in this beautiful house was fabulous! The house has a great floor plan and is beautifully decorated. It feels so homey and cozy. On top of that it has a wonderful view of Pikes Peak! I highly recommend this house!!!

Great location and views

Beautiful views off the deck and generally comfortable interior. Americana decor with frontier historical character and large kitchen/eating areas. Responsive host. Quiet at night with lovely fireplace.

Great view with everything you need!

We had three generations of family stay, we had plenty of space, everything we needed and a fantastic view. We spent mornings together making breakfast in the kithchen with games at the table and binocolars out on the deck. The days ended in the basement playing games, pool and piano. The layout was perfect for us. Communication was clear and responses timely before and during our stay.

A wonderful base camp for Pikes Peak

This is the 4th time we have used VRBO for a week long trip into Colorado, but this location was amazing. Not only was the house roomy and well taken care of, the back deck was worth the price of the stay. We had 7 in our party (all adults) and there was plenty of room. We cooked almost all of our meals at the house so the big kitchen was another big plus. Bonus highlight, original Sega that came in handy when we were all worn out by the Pikes Peak Acsent.

Excellent location, plenty of room

We rented this home for a few days while attending a college graduation. It was perfect because we had family members from afar so we could all be together even if the graduate wasn't around! Exceptionally well equipped home if you need to do some cooking. The view is gorgeous of Pike's Peak. I noticed the carpet is perhaps in need of cleaning but that is in the basement. The upper level is mostly wood floors. If you tend to be bothered by other people's "stuff" being around, this might not be the rental for you because there are owner items around. Didn't bother us at all, even the food in the frig... whatever, we just moved it aside and there was plenty of space.

Just as described, very clean, great place to stay for parents weekend at USAFA. Views from porch were beautiful! Extremely well stocked. Host very quick to respond to any questions.

Great property on a ridge with an excellent view of Pikes Peak from the large covered deck. We spent most of our time on the deck enjoying the views and wildlife. Centrally located with a 10 minute drive to most everything. Home was spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. The only negative, which didn’t really matter, was that the grounds could use a lot of clean up. Lots of weeds and overgrown landscaping. Communications with host were great and check in was easy.

We loved it! Richard notified us in advance that the oven was broken, and the dishwasher door needed gentle handling. The location, bedrooms, living space, kitchen were great for our group of 7. The best part is the deck with a view of the mountains. You can't see the neighbors, and the back lot has no neighbors. Highly recommend!

I really hate leaving a review like this, but felt compelled. Received a message from the owner the day of check-in that they had not rented out the property in several years, and you could tell. Everything outside was very overgrown, which made it hard to pull into the driveway, and made pulling out almost dangerous, as there was an overgrown bush that blocked the view when trying to pull out from one side. The master bedroom had a strong wet dog smell, and there was a faint smell of feces coming from behind a door in the bathroom. There was also a musty smell throughout the house, from what I can tell, they have some water leak issues, as indicated by damage on the wall in the living room and multiple areas of the ceiling in the basement. The last couple of nights we were there, we could hear an animal of some sorts in the ceiling on the master bedroom. Most of the beds were hard as a rock, but that's more of a personal preference. Really loved the location, the views were absolutely amazing, and it put us perfectly where we could access the city. The home just needs a good refresh to get it back to what it could be.

I really hate to have to respond to overly critical and negative reviews. I'll address a few issues stated. The carpet in the master bedroom is brand new, and still has the new carpet smell. There are 2 entrances to the driveway, both with plenty of space. One of the entrances has a partially blocked view due to a neighbors hedge, which we have trimmed, but cannot rem

This was a perfect place for our family to stay during our time in Colorado Springs.

The home is beautiful inside and contains everything your family will need during your stay. We loved the large deck overlooking the mountains. The home is very close to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs. There is also a grocery store within a couple of miles from the home.

Wonderful stay

Our family enjoyed our stay in Colorado Springs in this home. Especially having meals on the patio with the view of Pikes Peak. The kids reallly enjoyed this too. They also enjoyed the pool table. This home has all amenities needed for cooking and relaxing after a day of hiking or climbing. We will be back!

Views and location was amazing!!

The views of pikes peak were amazing . We were close to everything we wanted to do from pikes peak, cheyenne zoo, royal gorge bridge, cave of the winds etc. We comfortably fit a total of 6 adults and 2 kids. We spent most of our time on balcony or game room in basement. The kids loved that there was a xbox available for there use as well. The kitchen had everything you needed. Also Richard answered our questions promptly before and during stay. Reason for 4 stars, needed space to store clothing in master bedroom, 3 out of 6 beds were not comfortable. But overall a great trip. If you want to be in the center of everything this is the place to stay!
