Felt right at home

This place was even better than we'd anticipated, lots of space, plenty of linens and towels, very clean.It was a perfect location for everything we wanted to do and we are definitely planning to stay here again.

Wonderful Stay

Besides the great weather for snowboarding, the home and space were immaculate. There was ample space for the 7 of us and the views of the lake were quite a highlight when waking up!! Will definitely be looking to stay here again when back in the area.

I want to give a more balanced review than what others submitted. The location is beautiful! Gorgeous homes around crooked lake and kayaking was great. 4 kayaks provided! Other reviews said it was clean which it was but should also be noted that it is very dated, needs updating, and some repairs. Ceiling tiles in kitchen are broken, upstairs sink basin is cracked, no curtain in one bedroom-we used a towel, other bedroom curtain wouldn’t work to close. Some food left in cabinets were open. Worn wall to wall carpet with multiple warn throw rugs over the wall to wall carpet. Water has a sulfur smell and you might want to bring bottled waters. Beds were comfortable though. Nice shower. Now for some people the outdated conditions of the house are fine because of the incredible location on the water and its close proximity to town which had great restaurants. It just should be part of the review so potential renters can make an informed decision.

Relaxing getaway

We loved having the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Compared to most rental houses, there was plenty of seating available in the living area and we had the best morning coffee out on the patio facing the lake. The beds were comfortable and the lake was surprisingly quiet. Although this was near the end of September, so mid summer might be a different story. The kids loved the kayaks!

Beautiful Lakeside Property!

Taking a mini vacation away from teaching and this home foot the bill to the T!! A table to eat and another to puzzle and play cards. Quiet quaint had everything we needed for eating in. WiFi was perfect even though a snowstorm. Loved it so much our group is considering coming back next year!

Large, comfortable house

The house was much larger than we had expected - the master bedroom in particular is huge! We ended up being in the house much more than we had planned since our family who lives locally that we were visiting got COVID. It was great having such a large house to accommodate us since we spent most of our time there. I will definitely check for availability for future stays.

Family Getaway Cut Short

Through no one's fault, our family getaway was cut short. The night we arrived there were crazy storms and tornadoes in the area. The house lost power and since the house is on well water, without power to the pump there was no water. We had to flush the toilets with lake water. We used sand toy buckets to haul water from the lake each time. With little kids and one disabled person, we were not able to stay in these conditions. Shane was AMAZING and kept in contact with us. He offered us a refund, which he did not have to do, but he was kind enough to do so. WE GREATLY APPRECIATED IT.

Only room for small pontoon or fishing boat.

View is beautiful and description is pretty accurate. Home is dated with paint chips, floors that creek, and old furnishings... However, if you're going to relax and enjoy family time none of those things really matter. Owner was very responsive. The only really big thing for us was I asked the owner prior to booking if our boat would work at his dock (21ft Bayliner Deck boat) to which he said yes. I booked it and we towed our boat all the way there at 9 mpg to find out that it wouldn't. The public launch isn't even on this lake nor would a medium size boat work on the dirt launch. The owner did volunteer to give me back part of my payment if I left by 4pm. Considering our children had traveled there and dinner was going, leaving wasn't an option. His verbal apology didn't sound sincere to any of us, but I guess he made the sale he wanted. A very small refund for the misinformation he provided would have made us feel better about the situation. All in all, we made the best out of the situation as the boat sat parked all weekend. Towels, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, dishes all provided which was appreciated.
